Here is My Movie Review of Searching

Here is My Movie Review of Searching

So basically what happens is that you have this guy named David Kim and he is  spending time with his daughter Marot. She tells him that she is doing a steady class at night and he wishes her good luck. But the next day she starts to go missing and David Kim starts to freak out. He's worried that he's not going to see his daughter again so he decides to enlist  the help of Detective Vick To help him find his daughter Margot. It is up to David Cameron to find and solve the disappearance of his daughter and reunite with her and that's basically what the story is for this film and for a movie that takes place mostly on a computer the storyline really works for the film. I still think this is one of the best storylines of 2018.

Now the acting in the film is still incredible but here the thing mostly takes place on the computer so it's more visual storytelling than acting but the actors still give powerful and emotional performances.

But the actor that steals the entire film is John Cho as David Kim because he gives  a powerful and emotional performance in the entire film. Now the character of David Kim is really interesting and really awesome because you really feel bad for him because he is missing his daughter he is worried that he will never see her again and you can just see how much stress he is having because David Kim Is having a lot of panic attacks fearing that he will never see her again. Probably the best moment with David Kim is where he is trying to text his daughter Margot Kim but she does not respond and not only is it really nail biting  scene but it makes sense because she is not responding because she has gone missing and this gives David Kim a really important but really incredible idea of enlist the help Detective Vick help him find his daughter. It is probably the most suspenseful and chilling moment of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Debra Messing, Michelle La, Is still perfect.

Debra Messing Plays Detective Vick in the film. I had to say she still did a spectacular job as the character. Now the character of detective Vick is terrific because she wants to help David Kim locate the whereabouts of his daughter Margot Kim Probably the best moment with detective Vick is where she tells David Kim that he can no longer interfere with the investigation and he gets really mad because she says that they have to leave it to the police too finish the search for them and not only it is really suspenseful but it makes sense because she wants to continue the search for his daughter but Detective Vick Because she said they should leave it to the police too finish the Investigation. It is probably the most chilling and the most nail biting scene of the entire film. The chemistry between her and John Cho is outstanding.

Michelle La Plays David Kim's daughter Margot In the film. Now even though she's not in the film a whole lot she still does a terrific job at the character. Now Margot Kim As a character is incredible you can tell that she really loves her father David Kim and wants to make him happy. Probably the best moment with Margaret Kim is at the end where she is renewing with her dad and not only was it really emotional and very powerful but it makes sense because David can really miss his daughter wanting to be together with her. It's probably the most powerful and one of the most beautiful moments of the entire film. The chemistry between her and John Cho Is excellent.

However the best thing about this entire film is the directing by Aneesh Chaganty because He directed the movie Run which came out in 2020.I really loved his directing in that film but I have to say I liked his directing way more in this film than I did in that film because what I love about his directing and that even know he is having this movie be mostly on a computer He still managed to tell the very powerful and suspenseful story about a dad wanting to find his daughter And wants to be reunited with her is really interesting because the film does not have much dialogue but the dialogue it does have he still managed to show some really  Powerful and nail biting seems between David Kim and Detective Vick. I also like how he discusses the subject of a family member of going missing because it could be really scary as a parent fearing that they will never see their kid ever again they go to extreme lengths to try to find them and bring them back and I love how he treats a subject really serious because it is a very dark subject because the idea of a parent losing their kid can call them to have stress moments they will try anything like get the police involved Also get detectives involved so they can succeed and find their lost kid. I think it is really tremendous of how he did that.

So in conclusion I still really enjoy this film because of the way it tells the story by just taking place on a computer for the entire film. Also the performances are really awesome especially from John Cho as David Kim  probably who gives  one of the best performances of 2018 also this is easily in my top five favorite films of 2018. It is probably in my top 50 favorite films of all time. I highly recommend you watch this film especially if you like the film Missing with Storm Reid from 2023. I give this movie a 10/10.
