Here is My Villain Review of Yon Rugg

Now I'm going to describe the character of John Rock who is the main villain in 2019's Captain Marvel film and explain why he's really boring and why he is one of the most  forgettable MCU villains. 

Origin- Now Yon Rugg´s origin in the film is Not really interesting All we know that he is the leader of the Kree Empire who hunts down and tries to kill every Skrulls and that's it we don't know anything about him they don't give you a full flushed out backstory of him and the film does not do a great job developing Yon Rugg as the villain. 

Motivation- Now Yon Rugg motivations are so bland All he wants to do is to kill the Skrulls for no reason. The movie does not explain his motivation very well and I have to say out of all the MCU villains Yon Rugg has the worst villain motivation of all of them. To be honest The High Evolutionary from Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 3  had a way better and way more interesting motivation because he wanted to recreate the perfect society and show everyone that he is superior to everybody else. He wants to prove that he is  God.  He wants to kill Rocket Raccoon and take his brain out to figure out why he is so intelligent and the film develops his motivations extremely well. 

Best scenes- To be honest there isn't really any great scenes with Yon Rugg because all of the scenes are really bland and unmemorable but if I had to mention one good scene it'll be the opening see when he is training Captain Marvel because I think that the only scene that the film does okay job in developing Him as a character but that being said all his other scene are just planned and very boring to watch. 

Evil Deeds- Now Yon Rugg does do bad things but He doesn't do it as evil as other MCU Villeins because all he tries to wipe out an entire race Thanos did that better He tries to manipulate Captain Marvel But to be honest Xu Wenwu Did a better job of manipulating his son Shang Chi because they actually build up his character with Yon Rugg they just simply don't build up how evil he is he's just an evil character that does evil things for no reason. The film doesn't do a good job of building up how evil  Yon Rugg is, he's just evil and that's it there's no character development of him being a villain. 

Conclusion- Yon Rugg is just a terrible villain. He doesn't have any standout moments other than the beginning where he trains Captain Marvel. His motivations are bad because the film doesn't give him a good reason for why he wants to kill all the Skrulls. He's just doing it just because he wants to. The twist revealed and  the whole path he goes down is so predictable one of the worst MCU twist villains and  just one of the most boring and forgettable MCU villains overall. I'm going to give Yon Rugg a 2/10.
