Here is My Movie Review of CODA

So basically what happens is that you have this teenager named Ruby Rossi and she is the only one in our family that can hear all the rest of them are deaf and she has to help her family with their fishing business but at the same time she really wants to try out for choir so she meets this guy named Bernardo Villalobos and he tells her that she has to practice singing for the talent show and is up to Ruby Rossi  to help her family save their fishing business and Thing in the talent show and that is basically what the story is for the film. 

Now the acting in this movie is very interesting because a lot of this actors are deaf meaning that they can't hear but they somehow still give beautiful and emotional performances

However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Emilia Jones as Ruby Rossi. Now The character of Ruby Rossi Is Incredible because she really wants to help save her family's fishing business but she also wants to learn how to sing in a talent show and she balances both her social life and her family life. The scene where Ruby Rossi is where she calls out Miles for telling the entire school that her parents were having intercourse. Not only was it a really powerful and dramatic moment but it makes sense because she didn't want the school to find out. It is probably the The most suspenseful moment of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Troy Kotsur, Marlee Matin, Eugenio Derbez, Daniel Durant, and Ferdia Walch-Peelo is still excellent. 

Troy Kotsur plays Ruby Rossi´s dad Frank Rossi In the film. I have to say he still does a tremendous job as the character just by using sign language which shows that he can still give a really great performance. Now Frank Rossi as a character is tremendous because he really wants to keep his family's fishing business and will do anything in his power to make sure their Family business doesn't go away. The scene where Frank Rossi Is when he and his daughter Ruby Rossi are in the courtroom and he signs and she translates. Not only is it really a really heartbreaking moment. But it makes sense because he is telling the court that they can't have their fishing business be taken away from them and it is probably the most tragic moment of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Emilia Jones Is marvelous. 

Marlee Matlin Plays Ruby Rossi ´s mother Jackie Rossi In the film. I have to say she still does a glorious job as this character. Now the character of Jackie Rossi is terrific because much like the rest of the family she also wants to protect their fishing business from being taken away from them. The scene where Jackie Rossi waves goodbye to her daughter when she is leaving the family business and not only was it really really powerful and a really beautiful scene. But it makes sense because you could tell how much she really cares for her daughter Ruby Rossi and wants her to be happy and probably the most beautiful scene of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Emilia Jones Is wonderful. 

Eugenio Derbez plays Ruby Rossi´s Choir teacher Bernardo Villalobos In the film. I have to say he still does a magnificent job as the character. Now the character of Bernardo Villalobos Is incredible because he really wants  Ruby Rossi to sing in the talent show and he wants her to practice so she can give a beautiful performance when she is at the talent show. The scene were Bernardo Villalobos first meets Ruby Rossi for the first time and he wanted to participate in the talent show and not only is it really glorious and perfect moment but it makes sense because it sets up The bonding between him and Ruby Rossi as the film goes on. It is probably the One of the most powerful and entertaining moments of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Emilia Jones  is still perfect. 

 Daniel Durant plays Ruby Rossi´s brother Leo Rossi In the film. I have to say he still does a tremendous job as the character Now the character of Is magnificent Leo Rossi because much like the rest of his family he also wants to Keep their fishing business so it doesn't  get taken away from them. The scene where Leo Rossi Get the two a fight at the bar because some guy made fun of them is not only really suspenseful but it makes sense because he got mad the guy for mocking him just because he was deaf. It is probably one of the most nail biting moments of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Emilia Jones  Is astonishing.

Ferdia Walch-Peelo plays Miles In the film. I have to say he still does a glorious and Incredible job as this character. Now the character of Miles is excellent because you can tell he really cares about Ruby Rossi and wants to help her get into the talent show and help her save her families fishing business for being taken away from them. The scene where he and Ruby Rossi I think together the song you're all I need to get by is not only a really beautiful and really incredible moment by Nick Sense because it shows how much they really care about one another. It is probably one of my favorite moments of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Emilia Jones  Is spectacular. 

However the best thing of this entire movie is The directing by Sian Heder Because what I love about his directing is that he does a glorious job of making you feel sympathetic towards the main character Ruby Rossi Because she wants to become a singer but she also wants to help her family save their fishing business from getting taken away from them. I also like how he tackled the subject of what it is like to be deaf because it realized there are some people who are like that people who can't talk or hear that they rely on sign language to Help them communicate with others. I also like how he took the subject really seriously so I think it is really perfect of how he did that.

So in conclusion I still really love this film because it does a glorious job of disgusting the subject of being deaf and learning how to live in a deaf family. I also like how this film is mostly made up of actors who are deaf in real life. Also the storyline about Ruby Rossi balancing her family life with her social life in the film handled that really well Because he wants to be a singer but she also wants to help her family save their fishing business from going out of business. I also think that Emilia Jones and Ferdia Walch-Peelo play off of each other perfectly because they had such Marvelous chemistry with one another. This is probably up there with Swan Song with Awkwafina as one of the most beautiful movies of 2021. This is probably up there with Finch as one of the most beautiful Apple TV Plus Original films. I still think more people should watch this film especially if you like A Man Called Otto with Tom Hanks. I give this movie a 10/10.
