Here is My Movie Review of CODA

Here is My Movie Review of CODA

So basically what happens is that you have this teenager named Ruby Rossi and she is the only one in our family that can hear all the rest of them are deaf and she Has to help her family with their fishing business but at the same time she really wants to try out for choir so she meets this guy named Bernardo Villalobos and he tells her that she has to practice singing for the talent show and is up to Ruby Rossi  to help her family save their fishing business and Thing in the talent show and that is basically what the story is for the film.

Now the acting in this movie is very interesting because a lot of this actors are deaf meaning that they can't hear but they somehow still give beautiful and emotional performances

However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Emilia Jones as Ruby Rossi. What makes Ruby Rossi Such a incredible character is that she really wants to help save her family's fishing business but she also wants to learn how to sing in a talent show and she balances both her social life and her family life. Probably the best moment with Ruby Rossi  Is where she She called out miles for telling the entire school that her family is deaf and not only was it really emotional but it made sense because she didn't want anyone else at the school to know that she lives with a deaf family It is probably the most powerful moment in the film. The chemistry between her and Troy Kotsur, Marlee Matin, Eugenio Derbez, Daniel Durant, and Ferdia Walch-Peelo It's still excellent.

Troy Kotsur plays Ruby Rossi´s dad Frank Rossi In the film. I have to say even though he  is deaf he still does a tremendous job as the character just by using sign language which shows that he can still give a really great performance. What makes Frank Rossi such an awesome character is that she really wants to keep his family's fishing business and will do anything in his power to make sure their Family business doesn't go away. Probably the best moment with Frank Rossi Is where He and his daughter Ruby Rossi are in the courtroom and he signs and she translates not only is it really emotional but it makes sense because he is telling the court that they can't have their fishing business be taken away from them and it is probably the most tragic moment of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Emilia Jones Is marvelous.

Marlee Matlin Plays Ruby Rossi ´s mother Jackie Rossi In the film. Now much like what I said about Troy Kotsur she is also deaf but much like him. She also gives a spectacular and beautiful performance as the character just by using sign language. What makes Jackie Rossi  such an interesting character that much like The rest of the family she also wants to protect their fishing business from being taken away from them. Probably the best moment with Jackie Rossi  It's where she waves goodbye to her daughter when she is Leaving the family business and not only would it really emotional but it makes sense because you could tell how much she really cares for her daughter Ruby Rossi and wants her to be happy and probably the most beautiful scene of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Emilia Jones Is wonderful.

Eugenio Derbez plays Ruby Rossi´s Choir teacher Bernardo Villalobos In the film. I have to say he still does a magnificent job as the character. What makes Bernardo Villalobos Such a interesting character is that he really wants  Ruby Rossi to sing in the talent show and he wants her to practice so she can give a beautiful performance when she is at the talent show. Probably the best moment with Bernardo Villalobos Is where he First meets Ruby Rossi  For the first time and he wanted to participate in the talent show and not only is it really Emotional but it makes sense because it sets up The bonding between him and Ruby Rossi As the film goes on. It is probably the most glorious moment of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Emilia Jones  is still perfect.

Daniel Durant plays Ruby Rossi´s brother Leo Rossi In the film. Now much like what I said about the rest of the cast Even though he is deaf he still did a beautiful and emotional performance as the character of Leo Rossi by using  sign language. What makes Leo Rossi Is that much like the rest of his family he also wants to Keep their fishing business so it doesn't  get taken away from them. Probably the best moment Leo Rossi Is where And that is the end where he also says goodbye to His sister Ruby Rossi not only is it really powerful but it makes sense because you can tell that he really cares for his sister and it is probably the strongest and most beautiful scene of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Emilia Jones  Is astonishing.

Ferdia Walch-Peelo plays Miles In the film. I have to say he still does a glorious and Incredible job as this character. What makes Miles such a wonderful character is that you can tell that he really cares for Ruby Rossi and wants to be a great singer so they can sing at the talent show. Probably the best moment with miles is where he and Ruby Rossi  Are singing the song You´re All I Need to Get By. Not only is it really magnificent but it made sense because she really wants to sing in the talent show and it's probably the most beautiful moment of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Emilia Jones  Is spectacular.

The directing by Sian Heder Is magnificent because while I like about her directing that she does a really tremendous and beautiful job of discussing what's like to live with a deaf family It could be really hard because they can't really talk or hear so they at the rely on sign language In order to communicate and I also like how she casted a bunch of actors who are deaf and real life to match the theme of the film and I think it did really incredible of how she did that.

So in conclusion I really love this film because it does a great job of surrounding the subject of being deaf and learning how to live in a deaf family. I also like how this film is mostly made up of actors who are deaf in real life. I also like the storyline about Ruby Rossi Balancing her family life with her social life in the film handled that really well. This is probably up there with Swan Song with Awkwafina as one of the most beautiful movies of 2021. This is probably up there with Finch as one of the most beautiful Apple TV Plus Original films. I still think more people should watch this film especially if you like A Man Called Otto with Tom Hanks. I give this movie a 10/10.
