Here is My Movie Review of Antlers
So basically what happens is that you have this kid name Lucas Weaver who hears weird things going on in the town and He believes that it is the wendigo That have been killing people around the town so he has to do everything as power to survive against the wendigo protect his family and that's basically what the story is for the film. I have to say the storyline of this movie is very interesting because the idea of someone trying to protect their family from a mythological picture that being the wendigo does have a lot of potential and the film executes it perfectly.
The acting in this movie is terrific. I still think everyone does an excellent job with their performances. I think this movie is probably up there with The Humans as one of the best acted films of 2021.
Now for this being Jeremy T Thomas’s first film he had ever starred in. I have to say he still does a tremendous job as Lucas Weaver. Now the character of Lucas Waver Is really incredible because he wants to protective family from the wendigo and he believes that is the thing that has been killing people all around town. The scene where Lucas Weaver sees the wendigo is not only really creepy but it makes sense because it wants to kill him and his entire family. It is probably the most chilling scene of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Keri Russell, Jesse Plemones, Is perfect.
Keri Russell plays Julia Meadows In the film. I have to say she still does a spectacular job as the character. Now Julia Meadows as a character is terrific because you do really feel bad for it because she lost her mother at the age of 12 and she is still coping with the loss of that but she also wants to figure out what is causing all of these deaths. The scene where Julia Meadows Looks through Lucas Weaver And she Starts to figure out that the Wendigo is the cause of multiple deaths around town and not only is it a really disturbing scene but it foreshadows the Wendigo trying to kill her later on in the film. It is probably the most important moment of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Jeremy T Thomas Is wonderful.
However the absolute big standout on the entire film is Jesse Plummons as Julia’s Meadow husband Paul Meadows because he gives one of the most powerful and perfect performances in the entire film. Now Paul Meadows as a character is terrific because out of all the characters he is probably my favorite one in the film because he wants to try to figure out what is causing the deaths of a lot of people around town and wants to put a stop to it. The scene where Paul Meadows Is investigating who the wendigo is going to kill next is not only is it really disturbing but it makes sense because he is trying to figure out what is killing a lot of people around town. It is probably the most shocking moment of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Jeremy T Thomas is magnificent.
Now the directing by Scott Coop Is incredible because what I like about his directing is that he makes this film similar to Jaws where he builds up the Wendigo and then when you do finally see it it is very terrifying and very incredible to see. I also like how He developed the character of Julia Meadows Because she has been going through a lot she lost her mother at the end of 12:00 and she has two figure out what is causing the death of all these people around the town And she wants to do everything and her power to complete her mission i think it is really fantastic of how he did that.
So in conclusion I still really enjoy this film. The storyline revolved around People in a small town trying to figure out what had been killing people. The film author did a terrific job of building up the windigo because first of you the parts of it but Add the film girl that you start to see a little bit more than mine then you get to see the entire design of the creature. Also Jesse Plummons gave one of his best performances of his entire career as Paul Meadows. This is probably up there with The Card counter With Oscar Isaac as one of the most underrated films of 2021. I think more people should watch this film especially if you enjoy the movie Cherry with Tom Holland. I'm sure you'll like this one as well. I give this movie a 42/10.
