Here is My Villain Review of Apocalypse

Here is My Villain Review of Apocalypse

Now I'm going to discuss The character of Apocalypse who is the main villain in 2016's X-Men Apocalypse and explain why he is one of the worst comic to movie adaptations. As well as one of the worst X-Men movie Villains

Origin- Now surprisingly this is the only thing they sort of got right in this film because In the comics Apocalypse real name En Sabah Nur was born Prior to 3,600 years ago in Egypt BC during Egypt's first Dynasty Tans to thousands of years He was believe that he knew the god due to all the superhuman abilities that he had received and is believed to be the very first mutant. Now well the film does a decent job Of telling his origin story unfortunately it barely touches on it throughout the film.

Character- Now Apocalypse as a character in the comics is supposed to be very strong, very intimidating and super intelligent like he knows a lot that humans don't know much about and he believes that he is the Messiah and believes that He is a god. But in this film Apocalypse is really dumb because he gives philosophical Exposition about being a God and the way he learns about human culture that he touches a TV and he says learning which is so dumb and then for some reason he teams up with Magneto and it doesn't make sense. Also in the comics Apocalypse is very huge and threatening and he is way too small. He's supposed to be really big and imposing. I think the film did a horrible job of giving Apocalypse any character development in this film.

Best Scenes- To be honest I can't think of any good things but that being said I can think of a lot stupid stuff they do with him like for example There's worries they were apocalypse is giving the speech about being a god and he just is screaming his fucking head off and in the moment you have to take seriously But for some reason you kind of laughing because not only in Apocalypse so silly But also It is also due to Oscar Isaacs´s horrible acting because that is another red flag that the film does because Oscar Isaac is white well In the comics Apocalypse is Egyptian so By that logic they should have someone who is either Egyptian or African American and I think Idris Elba would have been a way better choice because  If he voiced Apocalypse he will not  be screaming his head off he will actually deliver the speech in very dark and scary tone of voice. But with Oscar Isaac I'm going to say that I didn't see Oscar Isaac I just saw Nicolas Cage in crappy makeup. That's how bad that scene was and that's how bad Oscar Isaac's performance was. I think the film did an awful job of giving Apocalypse any memorable scenes Because of the actor they cast, Oscar Isaac.

Motivation- Now Apocalypse says motivation is really weird and doesn't make any sense so he wants to use cerebral to go inside the mind of Charles Xavier and kill off all Humane some mutants can be the dominant race now in the comics it is like that how apocalypse these humans as inferior he wants only The strongest will live in the wake of ones will die. But in the film it just doesn't make any sense Strikers motivation in X-Men 2 X-Men United because of that film willing Striker actually willing to kill the mutants Because he wanted to use cerebral to get inside the mind of Charles Xavier and kill every last one of them because he was horrified that his son Jason Striker was a mutant so he views mutants as an abomination against God's creation so you can understand why William Striker would do all that evil shit but in the in this movie it done it makes sense because Apocalypse is just a crazy psychopath. I think the film. did a really terrible job of giving Apocalypse a really memorable or awesome motivation because it worked a lot better In the comics because It was a lot more interesting than is in the film.

Evil Deeds- To be honest Apocalypse isn't really horrifically evil because he does try to use cerebral to get inside the mind of Xavier to kill all the humans he manipulates Magneto into joining him. But to be honest I think Cassandra Nova from Deadpool and Wolverine has done way worse stuff than Apocalypse has done in this film because she literally almost destroyed the entire Multiverse and the closest thing Apocalypse did in this movie is almost killed Charles  Xavier. Also he tried to kill The X-Men. I think the film did not do a terrific job of making Apocalypse evil because The stuff he doesn't really is not evil. To be honest I think the colonel from War for the Planet of the Apes has done way worse stuff than Apocalypse had never done so a 2017 plant of the Apes film did a much better job of making its villain more scary than a 2016 X-Men film.

Conclusion- Apocalypse is a really terrible villain because aside from getting his origin a little bit right from the comics. He's just a screaming lunatic who believe that he is the Messiah he wants to be viewed out of God which doesn't make any sense it makes more sense in the comic books just not in the film his motivation of killing off all humans and mutants could be the dominant race is just a lazy rehash of Magneto's motivation from the first X-Men film and a bigger rehash Colonel Williams Striker's motivation in X2 X-Men United where he wanted to kill the mutants because and his eyes they were against God's creation. Also the scene of him just giving this big monologue speech is just so laughably stupid to the point of being almost unwatchable and that is due to Oscar Isaac's really horrible acting in this movie and that is the main problem that I have with apocalypse and the villain in the casting choice because again If they casted someone like Idris Elba I think he would have one of the best comic to movie adaptations Ever and one of the best villain performances of all time. But since they didn't do that this makes Apocalypse one the worst villains in superhero films and he is right up there with Taskmaster for Black Widow as one of the worst comic to screen adaptations. I am going to give Apocalypse 1/10.
