Here is My Movie Review of The Woman in The Window

Here is My Movie Review of The Woman in The Window

So basically what happens is that you have this child psychologist named Doctor Anna Fox. But she is an a anglophobe who is refusing to leave her house. But then she meets this woman named Jane Russell and the two of them start to bond and develop feelings towards each other. But Dr Anna Fox Sees her and her husband have a vicious fight and She believes that her husband Alistair Russell had killed her. Would you like to Figure out if Alistair Russell is responsible for the death of his wife So she enlist the help of Detective Little Who wants to help her probe that Alistair Russell what the one who killed his own wife and Dr Annie Fox to figure out if Alistair Russell really command the murder. That is basically what the story is for the film. Now in concept I think the story could be really interesting but the problem is the movie does not execute really well at all because the whole murdered stuff does it come into play until 27 minutes into the film so you don't get enough time with it.

Now the acting in this movie is not bad. I do think most of the performances really good but then the thing that causes that to fall apart is the writing and the directing which I'll get to later on in the review.

Amy Adams plays doctor Anna  Fox In the film. I have to say she still does a decent job as the character and even in parts where the film is really bad Amy Adams somehow still delivers a good performance. Now the character of Dr Anna Fox Is really interesting because you can see that she is very paranoid about what's going on with our neighbors. She thinks that the husband has committed the murder of Jane Russell and  she wants to know If he is truly responsible for the death of his wife. Probably the best moment With Dr Anna Fox is where she is questioning Alistair Russell About if he has committed the murder. Not only that really suspenseful by making sense But because She believes That he is the one that killed his own wife. It's probably the most disturbing scene of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Gary Oldman, Brian Tyree Henry, Anthony Mackie, Wyatt Russell, and Fred Hechinger Is decent.

However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Gary Oldman as Alistair Russell because even in parts where this movie is not doing really good at all somehow Gary Oldman still gives a very powerful and entertaining performance. Now the character of Alistair Russell is really interesting because he wants to prove that he didn't kill His own wife and he wants to prove that he is innocent. Probably the best moment with Alistair Russell Is where he questions Doctor Anna Fox because he wants to know If any of the family members went to her house. Not only is it really intense but it makes sense because he wants to know and the family members have been staying over at her house. It is probably the most creepy moment of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Amy Adams is Incredible.

Brian Tyree Henry Plays Detective Little in the film. I have to say he still does an excellent job as the character  because even in parts where this movie is not really interesting Brian Tyreey Henry still managed to give a really fun and entertaining performance. Now the character Detective Little is really interested because he wants to help Dr Anna Fox figure out if Alistair Russell is responsible for the death of his own wife. Probably the best moment with detective little is where He has to question Alistair Russell If he hit the one responsible for the death of his own Wife Jane Russell. Not only is it really Chilling. But it makes sense because he believed that Alistair Russell was the one responsible for killing his own wife. It is probably the most Suspenseful moment of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Amy Adams is still perfect.

Wyatt Russell Plays David Winter In the film. I have to say he still does a terrific job as the character because even in parts where the film is a mess Wyatt Russell still managed to give a really entertainingly fun performance. Now the character of David Winter is really interesting Because he wants to help Doctor Anna Fox figure out if Alistair Russell is responsible for the murder of his wife. Probably the best moment with David Winter Is where he first meets Dr Anna Fox And wants to help her figure out Alistair Russell if the one that killed his own wife. Not only is it really powerful and really intense but it makes sense because he wants to know if Alistair Russell caused the death of his own wife. It's probably one of the darkest moments of the entire film. The chemistry between Him and  Amy Adams is decent.

Anthony Mackey Plays  Doctor Anna Fox's husband Edward Fox In the film. I have to say his performance was nothing and I'm sorry to say this he is pretty bad in this film because he is not in the movie that much so he's pretty wasted in this film and what the really disappointed that Anthony Mackey is a really tremendous actor If you seen him in the MCU as The Falcon or if you seen him in the movie The Banker with Samuel L Jackson you can tell that here they really talented actor But in this it feels like he is just going through the motions in this film and not caring at all. The chemistry between him and Amy Adams is fine.

But the worst performance of the entire film is Fred Hechinger as  Ethan Russell because his performance is so over the top and so ridiculous to the point that it just comes off as almost unwatchable because it comes off as terrible and stupid the performances. But the character of Ethan Russell Is really bad because at first the movie makes you think that he is innocent and then a certain thing happens where it turned out that he was the one responsible for the death of his own dad and you're trying to kill doctor Annie Foxx and is so laughable so awful but here's the difference you can't really laugh it because they want you to take this seriously and To be honest I think Ethan Russell is probably up there with Taskmaster as one of the worst villains of 2021. The chemistry between him and Amy Adams is fine.

But the directed by Joe Right is really bad because It feels like he   Two separate movies one is about drug addiction in mental illness and the other is about this murder that occurs and it just doesn't work for the film because They barely focus on her medication addiction But again you have this murder that they focus on but it's not really interesting. I go with you trying to do In the sense that he was trying to adapt the book with his movie is banked off of but I feel like the book It'll better because Is a lot more consistent Then the film the overall I think he did a terrible job directing the film because it feels like he does not understand the book at all.

So In conclusion I did not like the film because of the storyline. It was interesting in concept but failed in execution because that's not really interesting in the film because of the bed off of a book. Some of the performances were really good and there were some decent moments. But to be honest not even the characters are enough to save the film. Surprisingly the best performance in the movie was with Gary Oldman as Alistair Russell because he felt like he was the only actor having a lot of fun as his character. But The film does not work as a psychological Thriller. Also to be honest most of the performances along with Gary Oldman are pretty decent. The writing Is just so bad. Also Ethan Russell is really bad Because his no one turn just happens out of nowhere and it doesn't make a sense His motivation that he wants to kill his Father is just so weird they don't give a good reason why and to be honest I think he's up there with Kro From eternals at one of the worth villains of the 2020s. I say just get this movie and go watch Mank which also stars Gary Oldman. It is a much better film. It is way more entertaining and has a much better storyline. You'll have a much better time with that film than you'll have with this boring film. I give this movie a 3/10.
