Here is My Villain Review on Ultron
Now I'm going to discuss Ultron who is the main villain in 2015's Avenger Age of Ultron And explain why he is such a underwhelming MCU villain that had a lot of potential but in the end was a disappointment
Origin- Now Ultron's Origin is really different from what it was in the comics because in the film he's made by Tony Stark who decides to make him in order to have a suit around the world to give peace to everyone around the world. I think Ultron's origin is okay. The film does an adequate job of telling his origin story but it should have been more like the comics.
Character- Ultron as a character in the comics is really scary and essentially Immortal you can't really kill him because here they artificial intelligence And he doesn't crack a joke then he has Killed a lot of the Avengers In the comics. Now the marketing For this film Was setting Ultron up as a horror movie villain he sounded really scary in the trailer he sounded really sadistic and that made you think is Ultron going to be really scary like in the comics. Well unfortunately that's not the case because the movie eventually made him into a big Luther by turning him into a generic MCU villain who just cracks way too many jokes now I get why he does this because he was Iron Man's personality because Tony Stark build him. But Ultron still needs to be horrifying but he's just a really dumb and that's really disappointing because Ultron could have been a great villain. But nope unfortunately they decide to make him into a stupid comedic villain. Overall I think the film did a horrible job of adapting Ultron's character.
Motivation- Now Ultron's motivation is really interesting he finds humans to be inferior so he decided to kill off all humanity and that is pretty much accurate to the comics because that's what he did in the source material he found humans to be inferior But the problem is ultron doesn't kill anyone in this movie a sign from Quicksilver he's not super powerful he's just a lackluster and really disappointing and really terrible villain. Now well his motivation is really good it just doesn't do well in execution and concept and comics yes it is perfect but in the movie it's not that good the overall I think the film did a really bad job of adapting Ultron's motivations from the comics
Best Scenes- Now here the very frustrating thing Ultron's scenes could have been really cool and really scary in fact there was a really great thing I like if the part where he needs the Avengers for the first time because he was acting really scary really creepy towards them but after that he just is a full-on clown throughout the whole movie Ultron just cracks jokes and does not take things seriously on the edge which is really stupid because that's what Ultron is he's about to be a Avengers level threat not a loser i think another thing that ruins his moments of being a terrific villain is the cast a human actor to voice Ultron and that's really bad because James Spader Was really miss cast to be honest I think they should just use a computer and not a human actor to voice Ultron or if they were going to use a human actor they should have used Jamie Campbell Bower to do the voice of Ultron that way He would have been a lot more threatening like his Comic counterpart.
Evil Deeds- Now Ultron Have done bad things like he tried to kill off all of humanity but the problem is well that is evil and well he does try to kill the Avengers the movie really pulled back on Ultron's threat level and just makes him into a joke as I already stated multiple times they just play it too safe with Ultron what they should do I just made Ultron like how he was In the trailer because we watched that trailer Ultron just sounds and feels like his comic book counterpart but we watched the actual movie it doesn't do a good job of showing off how evil Ultron is at the villain, So overall I think The movie did not do a terrific job of making Ultron evil The essentially just turned him into a joke.
Conclusion- Ultron did have potential to be a tremendous villain because I thought his motivation was really good how he wanted to kill off all Humanity some machines can rule the world and be the superior beings because he viewed humans adds inferior, but due to the MCU making time into a stupid and really comedic villain Ultron death fell part of the villain and James Spader ruined the character if he was not cast at the character and they just used an AI program for the voice then Ultron would have been a tremendous villain. Also some of Ultron's moments were really good in concept but an execution it came off overly silly and ridiculous the closest thing that Ultron had to a great moment whether it's introduction scene but that soon goes away when he confronts the Avengers and talks about How to make an omelette which that was a really stupid scene and the film took away Ultron's Intimidation presence in fear factor and made him into a really terrible and disappointing villain. So I'm going to give Ultron a 2/10.
