Here is my movie review of Doctor Strange

So basically what happens you'll have this guy named Dr Steven Strange he is a surgeon And one day he drives home at night well on his phone and gets it to a horrible car accident which breaks both of his hands so he in order to fix it he has to go through physical therapy. Then he meets this woman named The Ancient One who tell him there is the threat coming called Dormammu and she tell them that he has to help her keep him away from earth but he doesn't want to but he eventually does and he has to be trained to have the power of the mystic arts and it is up to Doctor Strange to take down Dormammu and save the world and that is basically what the story is for this movie.

The acting in this movie is Is really interesting because well I like all the performances some of the actors are great while some of them are under utilized or just missed cast but I think for the most part they do a really tremendous job as their characters.

However the absolute standout of the entire film is Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr Steven Strange/Doctor Strange. What makes Dr Steven Strange / Doctor Strange such an incredible character is that at first he is very narcissistic he doesn't want to Want to learn the power of the mystic artist he just wants to be a surgeon but after he gets it to a horrible car accident he agrees to become Dr Strange and defend the world from evil dimensional being. Probably the best moment with Doctor Strange is where he tells Dormammu Now he comes to bargain So he can tell him to stop attacking Earth. Not only was it really intense but it made sense because Doctor Strange can't Physically attack him he has to outsmart him. It is probably one of the most powerful moments in the entire film. Benedict Cumberbatch also voices Dormammu in the film. I have to say he still does a marvelous job voicing the character. Now the character of Dormammu is really interesting because he basically wants to Kill Doctor Strange and Want to come to earth to conquer so he can rule over it and the dark dimension and have everything in darkness so he can conquer the universe. Now Dormammu is a great villain but he is completely wasted and the whole scene between him and Doctor Strange is awesome I just wish he had more screen time and came to earth And have a big epic fight against Doctor Strange I think that we've been Spectacular to see. Fun fact actors like Keanu Reeves, Ryan Gosling, Jared Leto, Jon Hamm, Justin Theroux, Tom Hardy, Jack Hustin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Matthew McConaughey, Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, Ethan Hawke, Jake Gyllenhaal, Joaquin Phoenix, Oscar Isaac, Ewan McGregor, Alden Gillen, Patrick Dempsey, Nicolas Cage, and Mads Mikkelsen were all considered to play Doctor Strange. Also fun fact Tony Todd was considered to voice Dormammu.

Chiwetel Ejiofor plays Baron Karl Mordo In the film. I have to say he still does an amazing job as the character. Now the character of Baron Karl Morod Is really interesting because at first you think he is on Dr Strange's side helping him train to fight Dormammu but in reality Is a villain. Now this would have been a great twist in the film. But the problem is the movie doesn't do anything with Baron Karl Mordo as a character. It just Completely waste him as a character. So Baron Carl Mordo Could have been a fantastic villain if the twist with him would have been much better. But luckily in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse a Madness We did get a Barron Marl Mordo that is actually a villain so that one is more accurate to the comic. The chemistry between him and Benedict Cumberbatch is still really great. Fun fact actors Mads Mikkelsen and Gary Oldman were both considered to play Barn Karl Mordo.

Benedict Wong plays Wong In the film. I have to say I have all the performances he is my favorite Performance in the entire film. Now the character of Wong is really incredible because in this film he starts out as Dr Strange ´ s mentor But as MCU goes on he eventually becomes Dr Stranger's friend In the eventually become the member of the Avengers. Probably the best moment with Wong is where Doctor Strange tell them do you ever smile and not only was it really funny but it makes sense because long it is a very serious character. It is probably the funniest moment of the entire film. the chemistry between him and Benedict Cumberbatch is tremendous.

Tilda Swinton plays The Ancient One In the film. I have to say she still does a decent job as the character. But I think she was the wrong choice to play the character because Tilda Swinton is American and the Ancient One is Asian in the comics. I think they should have picked some like Kim Watanabe to play the character so that way it'll be accurate to the comics. Now the character of The Ancient One is still a great character you can tell that she really wants to help Doctor Strange master the concept of the mystic arts. Probably the best moment with The Ancient One is where She tells Dr Strange that she Said that time is relevant because she had been looking through countless terrible futures and each one she looks into There is always another end Not only was it really emotional but it makes sense because the time flows differently the route different universes. Is it probably the most powerful thing in the entire film. The chemistry between her and Benedict Cumberbatch is still terrific. Fun fact actors like Morgan Freeman, Bill Nighy, Liam Neeson, Kim Watanabe were were all considered to play the Ancient One.

Mads Mikkelsen plays Kaecilius In the film. I have to say he still does an excellent job as the character. Now a lot of people say that Kaecilius is a really boring Marvel Cinematic Universe villain. But I disagree with that statement because I still think he is up there with Darren Cross/Yellow Jacket/M.O.D.O.K from Ant-Man and Ant-Man The Wasp Quantum Mania as one of the most underrated MCU Villains. What makes Kaecilius an awesome villain is that you really understand were he is coming from because he wants to kill The Ancient One because she killed his son so you can understand why he hates The Ancient One so much. Probably the best scene with Kaecilius Is where he is fighting Doctor Strange and the ancient one in New York and he takes his revenge and kills The Ancient One not only was it really intense but it made sense because he wanted revenge on her for killing his son. It's probably the darkest moment in the film Now well I like Mads Mikkelsen In this movie. I feel like they should have saved him for a different MCU movie because he's not awful. But I think he should have played Dr Doom in a fantastic four film because Dr Doom is European In the comics and Mads Mikkelsen Is European in real life.

The directing. by Scott Derrickson Is astounding because when I like about his directing is that he gives Doctor Strange a really compelling character arc because at the beginning he's very narcissistic he is Hey Dad care about being a surgeon and he doesn't care about saving the world but the film goes on he starts to learn the magic of the mystic arts and starts to learn how to use his powers to prevent Dormammu from coming to earth. Think it is really awesome how he did that.

So in conclusion I still really enjoy this movie. I still think the storyline revolving around Dr Strange going from a narcissistic surgeon to a master of the Mystic Arts is probably the strongest character arc of Phase 3. I still think this is the most underrated movie of the MCU I still think this is still in my top 5 favorite movies of 2016. I still think the special effects are really great especially when during the final battle of the film where doctor Strange confronts Dormammu it's probably one of the best CGI effects in the entire film. I still think more people should watch this film especially if you like superhero origin movies like Ant-Man with Paul Rudd. I give this movie a 10/10.
