Here is My Movie Review of Captain Marvel

Here is my movie review of Captain Marvel.

So basically What happened and that you have this woman named Carol Danvers who lost her memory and she has to figure out who she is and she has to team up with Nick Fury to take down the Skrull and the Kreed and try to piece together her identity and that is basically what the story is for this movie.

Now I will say this the acting in this movie is not horrible because I still think the worst acting in the MCU is secret invasion because in that show everyone would just foamy it in and not giving a crap about what they were doing. But with this movie I see some effort put into the acting not all of it but some of it.

Brie Larson plays Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel In the movie. I have to say she was average I think she was trying to give a good performance and for the most part there is some moments of her being kind of entertained but for the most part she just is average in the role. Now the character of Carol Danvers Captain Marvel is rather dull we don't really learn much about her other than the fact that she is super powerful and she lost her memory and that's all we get she's just not an interesting character in the MCU but that being said I don't think she's the worst superhero casting choice I still think The worst superhero Catherine Choice is George Clooney as Batman from Batman Robin because he didn't even try but with Brie Larson she did try for what she was given. Fun fact actresses like Ronda Rousey, Katheryn Winnick, Natalie Dormer, Yvonne Strahovski, Rebecca Ferguson, Katee Sackhoff, and Emily Blunt were all considered to play Captain Marvel.

Samuel L Jackson plays Nick Fury In the film. I have to say out of the performances he was probably the one actor that actually did a good job because it felt like he was actually having fun as the character. But the character of Nick Fury is pretty weird he cracks a lot of jokes which Nick Fury Is not supposed to crack jokes because he's supposed to be very serious like he's supposed to be like Odin from Thor all wise and very intelligent. The chemistry between him and Bree Larson is okay.

Ben Mendelsohn plays Talos  In the film. I have to say I don't think he Gave a really great performance now I'll give credit I think he was trying for what he was given but for the most part it just felt like he was sleepwalking throughout the entire movie not even given a crap of what he was doing. But it's kind of sad to see him really wasted because I liked him in Ready Player One as Nolan Sorento. the chemistry between him and Brayl Larson is decent.

Lee Pace Comes back as Ronan the Accuser in the film. Now I will give credit he is trying his best with the material he's given he is trying to give a great performance as the character but again much like with Ben Mendelsohn it just feels like Lee Pace sleepwalking through it. now the character of Ronin the accuser is pretty boring he doesn't really do anything it to be perfectly honest I think he was much better you know I just in guardians of the galaxy when he went the main villain because he actually does stuff in that film but in this movie he just stands on his ship and just gives exposition that's all he does. no not saying he is a perfect villain because he's not I still think he was a pretty decent villain in Guardians of the Galaxy. But he is nowhere near as perfect as eagle from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 or The High evolutionary from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 because those villains were more intimidating and had more stuff to do.

However the worst performance in the entire film. I'm sorry to say Jude Law Is terrible as Yon Rugg. I'm going to say that this is Jude Law´s worst performance ever done and what's really sad is that he is a terrific actor. Now the best performance I have ever seen him done was Pitch Black from Rise of the Guardians because he had a lot of energy in the performance and you can tell he is having a blast playing this character. But in this movie it just feels like Jude Law is just sleeping through it it doesn't feel like he wants to be in the film he's just so boring and so forgettable and he's barely in the movie only see him in the beginning and in the end of the film. now the character of Yon Rugg is awful because at first you think he is good but then it turns out he is the main villain the twist that he was the main villain the whole time was so dumb so ridiculous that you can just guess that he is the main villain that's how bad the villain is. You know what I'm going to say this as much as I didn't like Ultron from Avengers Age of Ultron at least he did something at least he was somewhat intimidating and he had an onscreen presence. But with Yon Rugg is so boring so forgettable and he doesn't even have an on-screen presence because we don't know anything about this character also you can take him out in the movie and the movie will not have even changed. the chemistry between him and Brie Larson is decent I do think they had interesting chemistry with each other They worked well with each other. but the robbery between him and Captain Marvel was just nothing you don't really feel the rivalry and if you compare their rivalry to Ant-Man and Kang from Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantum Mania you buy their rivalry because Kang The Conqueror threatens to kill Ant-Man's daughter Cassie if he doesn't help him fix his time machine and that makes the rivalry more intense because Scott Lang doesn't want to lose his daughter to Kang The Conqueror so you buy their hatred for each other. But with Yon Rugg and Captain Marvel you just don't you just don't buy their rivalry It just seems nothing. But luckily they redeemed him in Marvel's What If...? Fun fact actor Keanu Reeves was considered for Yon Rugg.

the directing by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck is kind of mixed because there's some stuff that they do fine and some stuff that were pretty bad I did the stuff that they did really well for the most part is the chemistry between Captain Marvel and Nick Fury I did think they have pretty decent chemistry throughout the film and I think when they' are together the film gets a little bit better. but unfortunately the problem is they don't really give Captain Marvel a pretty awesome personality she's just flat she doesn't emote that much I'll say this she emotes a little bit better than Superman in the DCEU but that being said I think they should have made her more like Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy in terms of like cracking a few jokes and being a tough but very engaging character to watch. so overall I think the directing with fine.

So in conclusion i don't think this movie is as horrible as I initially thought I think the acting is decent there are some average to good performances. I do sill think Nick Fury is the best part of this entire film I also like Goose the cat she was really cute and really funny and the scenes were Goose and Nick Fury are bonding are some of the best parts on the film. I'll say this I will ride watch this all over again then to ever watch Secret Invasion again because that show is so unwatchable and boring. Well this film is more watchable and slightly more entertaining because at least it was easy to get through because it was only 2 hours and 4 minutes. But again Yon Rugg is up there with Taskmaster from Black Widow as one of my least favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe Villains. But in all honesty this is still my pick for one of the worst MCU movies it's not the worst superhero movie I have seen I have seen much worse like suicide Squad and The Flash from 2023 those films are way more unwatchable than this film but the biggest problem with this film is just boring and forgettable and it's not much memorable scenes and to be honest I think black widow as much as I found at movie underwhelming is a lot better. I say just skip it and go watch Eternals with Angelina Jolie because at least with that film weren't boring and it had a way better twisted villain and actually really entertaining to watch. I give this film a 4/10.
