Here is My Movie Review Of Training Day

Here is My Movie Review Of Training Day

Now when it comes to this movie I always enjoyed it because of the characters in the storyline and it has always been one of my favorite films of 2001 Because of how intense and violent it is How it tackles police corruption in LA. It is a very interesting idea and the film executes it perfectly. Now there are some stand out performances which I'll get to in the review.

Now the storyline of the film is really interesting because it revolves around this guy named Jake Hoyt who is this police officer part of the LAPD who has to team up with this corrupt police officer named Alonzo Harris Who teaches him how to be a perfect cop who takes down drug traffickers and criminals and everything goes well up until Alonzo Harris decide to plant PCP marijuana in the car to set up Jake To have him killed by his crew and it's up to Jake Hoyt to bring Alonzo Harris and his crew to justice and that is basically what the story is for this film. Now the storyline is really interesting this idea of this corrupt cob taking this new recruit under the wing to teach him how to be a successful police officer only for things to go the other way and bad stuff starts to happen to the point that Jake Hoty finds out that Alonzo Harris is really evil and corrupt the point they had to take down him and his drug dealing team and bring all of them to Justice and Is it interesting idea and the film executes it perfectly Because it is accurate to real life how they are corrupt cops in the world.

Now the story for this film is interesting.  But the best thing about this entire movie or the performances is that everyone does a terrific job even though not a lot of them play a big role in the film. They are all really fun and really entertained to watch.

Now let's talk about Ethan Hawke. He is a brilliant actor. He has given some really awesome and entertaining performances whether it's his performance as Arthur Harrow in Moon Knight or his performance as Vincent Freeman in Gattaca. Even his small performance in Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets he is even great in that film. Now in this film he plays the character of Jake Hoyt In the film he gives a really incredible and fantastic performance as this character. Now the character of Jake Hoyt Is really incredible because he want to bring these Drug dealers to justice In a proper way Bowen things get rough sometimes Jake does have to somewhat act like Alonzo Harris even though Alonzo Is a lot more corrupt because he's more sensed to doing it in a violent and brutal manner by Jess barging into these people's houses and just trying to kill them well Jake tries to make the situation less terrible by telling people to like calm down and relax and just follow police orders.  The scenes with Jake Hoty are incredible whether it is him pursuing Alonzo Harris trying to arrest him or him driving around and getting high with Alonzo Harris it does lead to some really intense and some really incredible moments throughout the film. Fun fact actors like Matt Damon, Tobey Maguire, Ryan Phillippe, And Christian Bale were all considered to play Jake Hoty. The chemistry between him and Denzel Washington, Scott Glenn, and Cliff Curtis  Is terrific.

However the absolute big standout of the entire film is done the Washington who plays our main villain Alonzo Harris and his performance is brilliant because you can tell that Dental Washington was having a lot of fun but also this was the performance that one Denzel Washington and Oscar for best supporting actor and it really does show because every time he is on screen he gives one of the most uncomfortable and probably with the scariest performances in the film because there'll be moments where Daniel Washington is really calm but the next minute he will threaten someone by shooting them in the head or even threatening to kill Ethan Hawk's character Jake Hoty. The scenes with along the Harris are incredible Especially the most iconic moment and it happens in the last bit of the film and he says king Kong an´t got shit on me as is yelling at his crew it's really intense but in some way that's kind of funny In a really disturbing because of the way Denzel Washington delivers the lines. One of the most brutal moments on this film and occurs in his alleyway where this girl is getting raped and Jake and Alonzo Harris confront the tow gangsters and the next minute Alonzo Harris takes his two guns and threatens to shoot the guy the dick off if he doesn't  leave the girl alone it's really disturbing and really shows how disturbing and downright crazy Alonzo Harris as villain and does  lead to some really intense and some really nerve-wracking moments in the film. To be completely honest if Alonzo Harris was in the Dark Knight Trilogy he would shoot the Joker's fucking head off he would not have to take he'll just kill the Joker but then he'll just plunge the city into chaos. Fun fact actors like Samuel L Jackson and Bruce Willis were both considered to play Alonzo Harris. I think Alonzo Harris is up there with Magneto from X-Men as one of my favorite villains of the 2000s. The chemistry between him and Ethan Hawke is brilliant.

Scott Glenn He plays Roger in the film and his performance is incredible despite the fact he doesn't have much to do in the film he is still really fun and really entertaining and this character. Now Roger had a character is just a drug lord he's a thug  he's part of Alonzo Harris's crew and he's just as crazy as Alonzo is except he's a lot more calm because He rarely raised his voice Alonzo Harris in the one that screams he raises his voice he goes absolutely nuts well Roger is a lot more calm. The scenes with Roger are really fun to watch whether in the scene of him meaning Jake Hoty For the first time or him trying to kill Jake Hoty It does lead to some really intense and some really fun and  really entertaining moments in the film.

Cliff Curtis plays Smiley in the film and his performance is probably the most eccentric performance in the film. You can tell that he is having a lot of fun and this character. Now the character of Smiley is a lunatic. He enjoys working with Alondo Harris breaking the people's houses just killing innocent people because he views it as fun. The scenes with smiley are really entertaining because anytime this guy is on screen something crazy always happens whether It is him threatening to kill Jake in the bathroom or him and Alondo Harris's team killing Jeff in the house it does lead to some really intense nail binding moments throughout the film. The chemistry between him and Ethan Hawke is brilliant.

However the best thing about this movie is the directing by Anton Fuqua because this guy has directed some really awesome films like The Guilty with Jake Gyllenhaal. He also directed Emancipation with Will Smith. He also directed Southpaw with Forest Whitaker. Now as for this film I think this is his best directed because of the way he develops most of the characters like Jake Hoty who is a police officer who just wants to protect the streets of LA doesn't want any bad luck to happen to him because he has a pregnant wife they really care about. Although on the other side of the coin you have Alonzo Harris who is really different from Jake because unlike Jake who wants to protect the streets of LA and to rent the drug dealers the proper way. Along the threatens people with death. he threatens to kill any drug dealers he wants he is like so crazy that he even killed some of his henchmen he goes crazy he raises his voice he blackmails Jake by placing PD marijuana in his card game high to get him to like lose his job and just ruined his reputation how he give them two different personalities you know Jake in the calm one who want to get stuff done the proper way and as I already said Alonzo Harris is the psycho derange crazy cob who wants to use a violence to solve the problem. I think he did gloria's job doing that and I also like how he doesn't pull back on the violence because in this film there's people who get shot And killed people who get tackled to the ground and get threatened with death Which is surprisingly accurate to have real corrupt cops act so I found that really interesting the way he depicts corrupt cops in this film so overall I think he does a glorious job directing the film.

So in conclusion I still really like the film. The storyline revolved around Jake teaming up with this evil corrupt cop alonzo Harris to Britney the drug dealers to Justice as well as try not to be killed by Alonzo Harris is a brilliant idea and the film executes it perfectly Because Jake doesn't want to be screwed over by Alan though even though he already has been screwed over because of the whole PCP marijuana incident in the beginning of the film And he has to try to fix everything and avoid being killed. The performances that are the highlight of the film in particular Ethan Hawk as Jake and Denzel Washington as Alonzo Harris who stole the entire movie. Also all the moments with Alonzo Harris are some of my favorite moments in the film. The shootout sequences especially when really good especially the final shooting out sequence in the house It really reminded me of the The climax in 2009 Inglorious bastards Where Hans Lans And his Nazi crew are trying to kill the Jewish girl and just a boy the right her it kind of reminded me of the climax in this movie. I think Alonzo Harris is up there with Hans Lans as my favorite villain of the 2000s. Also the scene in the alleyway is my favorite moment in the film just because of how dark and nerve-wracking that whole moment is between Alonzo Harris and the thugs. I highly recommend you watch this film especially if you like really dark and disturbing crime films like Sin City with Benicio Del Toro then I'm sure you're going to like this one as well. I give this movie a 10/10.
