Here is My Movie Review of Wolf Man 2025

Here is My Movie Review of Wolf Man 2025

Now when this movie was announced a lot of people were very mixed on it. Some people thought it was a really great movie while some people thought it was very disappointing and they didn't really like the  design of the Wolfman in the film.  So I watched this movie and I have to say this film is probably the most underrated film of 2025 now I will say the movies like Thunderbolts* and Death Of A Unicorn or better films but this one was still really fun and really entertaining.

Now the storyline in this movie is really interesting because it revolved around this guy named Blake Lovell Who is married to his wife Charlotte Lovevell and they have their kid named Ginger and everything is going well until Blake start having flashbacks of his his father miss training him and he starts to Go a little off the rails and it starts to turn into a werewolf and he doesn't want to be like his father so Blake has to do everything in his power to control his temper and protect his family and that's basically what the story is for this film. I have to say the storyline in this movie is really interesting because they sort of treat the Wolfman as a tragic character because this interpretation wants to keep his anger under control so he doesn't Kill his family and I think that is a brilliant and fun concept and the film executes it perfectly. I have to say the storyline is probably up there with Death of A Unicorn with Paul Rudd and one of the best storylines of 2025.

Now the performances in this film are really terrific because Even though it only focuses around three characters all the actors do a glorious job playing the characters because you can tell all them are having a lot of fun and what I also love in that when the characters get scared you actually believed that the actors are getting scared so it's not like they're faking it there's one performance in particular that I really want to talk about but i'll get to that in a little bit but overall the acting was really tremendous it is up there with Fantastic 4 First Steps as one of the best acted films of 2025.

Now let's talk about Christopher Abbott who plays our main character Blake Lovell In the film is tremendous because he gives a really captivating and really magnificent performance  as this character because you can tell that he really does a pretty amazing job of playing a dad that has a temper problem he wants to keep his anger under control and he want to protect his family and Christopher Abbit that the glorious job of acting like a person that is overly paranoid and wants to control their temper. Now the character of Blake Lovell Is really tremendous because you really feel bad for him because his father died and he doesn't want to be like his father because when he was a kid he was mistreated by his father and he doesn't want to have his anger be Unleashed he wants to control his emotions so he does not want turn into the Wolf Man and I did that is the strongest aspect of this film Blake Lovell’s character Arc because you can definitely understand where he's coming from me wants to protect his family and control his emotions. The scenes with Blake Lovell are incredible whether it is the scene of him bonding with his daughter Ginger Lovell  Or him turning into a werewolf is really scary. In fact, it is my favorite moment of the entire film because both of those moments do lead to some really intense and emotional moments throughout the film. The chemistry between him and Julia Garner, Matilda Firth is still terrific.

But as fantastic as Christopher Abbott is in this film he's actually not the standout of the film. The truth stand out on this entire film is Julia Garner as Charlotte Lovell because her performance felt really real because when Julia Garner had to act scared as Charlotte Lovell she did a magnificent job doing that because I felt like the actress herself was really scared when she had to act alongside Christopher Abbott Because his character became the wolf man and it felt like it was real because it felt like Christopher Abbott became the Wolfman in real life even though it is just a movie but that just shows how real her performance was throughout this film. Now the character of Charlotte Lovell Is incredible in fact she is either way my favorite character in this film because throughout the movie you can clearly see that Charlotte is worried that her husband Blake his been very hostile toward her she wants him to control his temper and want to keep the family together another one any misfortunes to happen to them and there is one scene In the third act that I really love It is when she has to kill her husband like to protect her daughter Ginger and it is probably one of the most broken moments of the entire film because she really cared about her husband and she had to watch him die. Also the chemistry between her and Christopher Abbott felt so real because you kind of believe that they are a real life couple even though they're not they're just pretending to play a married couple in the film but that's how realistic it was that's how perfect their chemistry was throughout the film.

Matilda Firth Plays Blake and Charlotte's daughter Ginger In the film and she gives one of the most beautiful and emotional performances because much like Julia Garner in the film. She also did a Terrific job acting really scared in fact she does a magnificent job of acting like really scared to the point that felt real because there  be times where she is being so scared that it actually felt like she was really scared when she saw Christopher Abbott turning into the Wolfman in On set even though it is just acting in the film but that shows how remarkable her performance was in the film. Now the character of Ginger  Lovell is incredible because she really cares about her family and she really wants to protect them. Especially her dad Blake because she doesn't want anything bad to happen to him. She wants him to be safe and wants them to stay with her and her family. Now scenes involving Ginger Such as the scene where she doesn't want her mom and her dad not to argue and there is the one moment in the third act that I thought she was awesome and It involved her dad becoming the Werewolf and you can just see the petrified and scared look on Ginger's face because she didn't know her father was the wolf man. It is probably one of the most horrifying sequences in the entire film. The chemistry between her and Christopher Abbott is magnificent because you really believe that they are father and daughter in real life even though it's just them attending but that's how brilliant and real their chemistry was throughout the film.

Now let's talk about Leigh Whannell Who are they really talented director he directed The Invisible Man 2020 now that film I really enjoy because it talked upon white flight to be a toxic relationship but although modernized the invisible Man story by make it a lot more Sinister and a lot more suspenseful than the one in 1933 with Claude Reigns With that one I still enjoy I love the 1933 The Invisible Man. Then he directed this phone called upgrade and I thought that thumb and I really enjoyed it because it reminded me venom how the main character had a voice inside of his head and it's an AI named  STEM who assisted the main character but you didn't know if it with fully trustworthy because stem had a very Sinister personality at the film went on it started to control the main character and kind of took over his body. Now with that film he was trying to show how technology could be used against us but also be very advanced and he kind of made like a better version of Avengers Age of Ultron by keeping with the trailer's tone and not tying it into a comedy. So I still think he did a brilliant job directing those two films. So how did he do directing this film well he absolutely knocked down the park in fact this is probably his best directive film of all time because what I love about his directing is that this is not a generic werewolf movie it's not Something that I found really interesting is that yes it is a reimagining of wolfman but this is more of a horror family drama film because  Leigh Whannell Makes it really care about all the characters especially Charlotte because as I said before she the woman that is very worried about her husband Blake living his temper and what she find out what is going on with her husband is really scary and I love how he builds it up it's not like in Firestarter 2022 Where that film was completely rush and say well  the movie ended deal with it. No they don't do that here they build everything up and when you do see the ending it is really satisfying. So overall I think he did a terrific job directing this film.

So in conclusion I was really surprised by this movie because what I really like about this movie Well it is an adaptation of Wolfman I really like how it is accurate but I also like the unique twist that it does instead of Game bitten by a dog  it is actually the dad who bit his own son that being Blake and he is cursed by turning into a werewolf so he has to do everything he can to keep his temper under control because if does not he will turns into the werewolf. Also the performances are really amazing particularly Julia  Garner who gave a really amazing and Captain performance as Charlotte Lovell in the film. Also the effects to bring the Wolfman to life looks really amazing in fact the CGI does not look that bad it actually looks really terrific. I think this film is up there with Love Hurts with Ke Huy Quan as one of the underrated films of 2025. I highly recommend you watch this film especially if you enjoy The Invisible Man 2020 Elizabeth Moss. Then I'm sure you're going to like this one as well. I give this movie a 10/10.
