Here is My Movie Review of Friendship

Now when this film was announced I was really looking forward to it because it was an A24 film which I really enjoy those types of films and had my favorite actor on time that being Paul Rudd so I watched the film. I have to say this is probably one of the most entertaining films of 2025. Now I will say I think Death Of A unicorn is a better written film than this one is. But I do think this one is really fun and really entertaining to watch. 

Now the storyline of this movie is really interesting because it focuses around this guy named Austin Carmicha befriends this guy named Craig Waterman and after that starts off really well with the two bonding and hanging out until Craig Waterman starts to have a creepy obsession with Austin Carmichael. So Austin Carmichael has to do everything he can to not have Craig Waterman  stalking him and that's basically what the story is for this film. Now her the interesting part. This storyline is very similar to the cable guy with Jim Carrey because  Steven befriended The Cable Guy until he found out that he was a deranged stalker and he didn't want The Cable Guy to follow him around and the film executes it perfectly. 

The performances in this film are incredible because you can tell that all of the actors are giving really terrific and captivating performances as the characters. To be honest I think the acting in this film is up there with the acting in Love Hurts with Ke Huy Quan as one of the best acted films of 2025. 

However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Paul Rudd as Austin Carmicha Because he gives one of the most captivating in one of the most terrific performances in the entire film Because you can tell that he is having a lot of fun as this character. Also Paul Rudd is my favorite actor of all time and even in a film that's not really great like Sausage Party he still gives a really fun Charismatic performance. Now the character of Austin Carmichael is really interesting because at the start of the film he really likes hanging out with Craig Waterman. But then he starts to get annoyed with him because he keeps following him around. The scenes with Austin Carmichael I'm really incredible weather it is him meaning Craig Waterman for the first time or him ending his friendship with Craig Waterman because he didn't mind hanging out with him but then Craig became more obsessed with Austin Carmichael and it does laid to some really intense and really interesting interactions throughout the film. The chemistry between him and Tim Robinson, Jack Dylan is still terrific. 

Tim Robinson  plays Craig Waterman in the film and his performance is probably one of the creepiest and one of the most captivating performances of the entire film because he's essentially playing The Cable Guy in the sense of playing a deranged stalker. Now the character of Craig worman it really interesting because he is very similar to The Cable Guy because both of them stalk the main character because they are obsessed with them because Craig Waterman wanted Austin Carmichael to be his best friend. The scenes of Craig Waterman stalking and trying to get Austin Carmichael to be his friend. It does lead to some really creepy and some really disturbing moments throughout the film that are very reminiscent of the film The Cable Guy. The chemistry between him and Paul Rudd is terrific. 

Jack Dylan Grazer plays Steven Waterman In the film and his performance is terrific because he gives a really fun and entertaining performance as this character. Now the character of Steven Waterman is really interesting because he doesn't play a big role in the film but he's still ain't really fun and entertaining character. He's basically there to work at his father's flower shop to sell flowers to people. The scenes of Steven Waterman interacting with Austin Carmichael and his father Craig Waterman are some of the most entertaining moments throughout the film. The chemistry between him and Paul Rudd is terrific. 

However the best thing about this movie is the directing by Andrew De Young because what I love about his directing is that he does a glorious job of developing the characters because for example austin carmichael is a guy who enjoys being alone and doesn't want to be bothered. Well Craig Waterman is a guy who enjoys hanging out with people and being very social. So that was really interesting showing the difference between the two characters. I also like how he kind of paid homage to the cable guy because the same thing happens in that film Steven enjoys being By himself and not with other people. Well The Cable Guy enjoys stalking him and wants him to be his friend. I also like how he discusses the subject manner of of being an introvert because some people are very social well others are more closed off and want to be left alone and I think that in the thing that a lot of people can Real weight to this movie people who are Introverted while people who are social can also relate to this movie as well who enjoy Being really social. So overall I think he does a terrific job with his directing. 

So in conclusion I still really enjoy this movie the storyline was really interesting have it be Someone to the cable guy in terms of two people who start off with friends but then one starts to become obsessed with the other But I like how This film takes it a little more seriously But still manages to Make it really funny in a dark way. I think the storyline is up there with the storyline in Wolfman 2025 as one of the best story lines of 2025. The performances are really tremendous especially from Paul Rud who gives a really fun and captivating performance in the film. Also the bonding between Austin Carmichael and Craig Waterman is the strongest aspect of the entire film because they have such amazing and incredible chemistry with each other. I still think this film is up there with The Lighthouse with Willem Dafoe as one of the most entertaining A24 films. I still think this film is up there with Mickey 17 with Mark Ruffalo as one of the best films of 2025. I highly recommend you watch the film especially if you like really fun and entertaining films like locked with Anthony Hopkins. Then I'm sure you're going to like this one as well. I give this film a 10/10.
