Here is My Movie Review of Se7en

So basically what happens is that you have this guy named detective David Mills And he and his partner William Somerset find out that there has been mysterious murders that have been happening and they want to figure out who's been killing these people so they find out that the killer is related to the seven deadly sins and they try to figure out who has been doing all these heinous crimes and they had to figure out who is responsible for the murders and that is basically what the story is for the film. I have to say the storyline is really incredible. It's very similar to the 2007 film Zodiac which revolved around a group of detectives trying to figure out the identity of the Zodiac Killer and this one is very similar to that film and I still think the film executes the storyline perfectly. 

The performances in this movie are tremendous because if you know the director David Fincher he is really good at casting his movie with big named actors and this one is no different and I would say that this film is up there with his other film Zodiac and turned on the best acted film in his filmography. I still think this film is up there with Apollo 13 as one of the best acted films of 1995. 

However the absolute big standout on the entire film Is Brad Pitt who plays Detective David Mills and he gives one of the best performances of the entire film and I think this is probably his best performance he had never given because he gives one of them a captivating and one of the most nail-biting   performances in the entire film. Now the character of Detective David Mills  Is magnificent because you can tell that he is very determined to figure out who has been committing all these murders and want to bring the criminal to justice and each time is trying to figure out who could have done it he gets more and more stressed out it takes the tall oven physical and mental state and I think that is the strongest aspect of Detective David Mills Because he's trying to keep his emotions in check while trying to solve this mystery. The scenes with Detective David Mills are tremendous whether it is the scene of him hearing John Doe on the phone or him putting  a gun to his head and threatening to kill him; it does  lead to some of the most messed up and probably some of the scariest moments of the entire film. Fun fact actors like Nicholas Cage, Sylvester Stallone, Denzel Washington Were considered to play Detective David Mills. The chemistry between him and Morgan Freeman, Gwyneth Paltrow,  and Kevin Spacey is terrific. 

Now let's talk about Morgan Freeman He is a terrific actor Because he has given some awesome and entertaining performances weather it is him in the Dark Knight Trilogy as Lucius Fox or In A Good Person where he played Daniel And this film is no different because Morgan Freeman gives one of the most captivating and one of the most magnificent performances as William Somerset  because this is probably one of his best performances he has ever given in his career. Now the character of William Somerset  is tremendous because he has shown to be really determined to track down this unknown killer and he wants to help Detective David Mills figure out who is responsible for all the murders and it's really fun watching the two of them work together to try to figure out who has been killing people. Now there are so many memorable moments with  are some of the most entertaining and probably a thumb of the darkest moments  of the film Whether it is him listing  the seven deadly sins or him and Detective David Mills chasing the mysterious killer or him walking in the library it does lead to some really intense and really incredible moments throughout the film. Fun fact actors like Al Pacino, Gene Hackman, Harrison Ford, Robert Duvall were all Considered to play William Somerset.The chemistry between him and Brad Pitt is probably the strongest thing in this entire film. They have outstanding chemistry with one another. 

Gwyneth  Paltrow plays Detective David Mills´s wife Tracy Mills in the film and her performance is terrific because she gives one of the most entertaining and probably one of the most remarkable performances in the entire film. Now The character of Tracy Mills is Incredible because she shows that she really cares about her husband Detective David Mills and she's worried that this case is taking a toll on his mental state and how to keep his emotions in check. The scenes with Tracy Mills are really entertaining whether it is her Meeting Somerset  for the first time or her spending time with her husband the way to thumb really effective in some really powerful moments throughout the film. The chemistry between her and Brad Pitt is perfect. 

Kevin Spacey plays John Doe in the film and his performance is probably one of the creepiest and probably one of the most horrifying performances of the entire film because his line delivery  comes off really creepy and really chilling in the film and it works for this type of film because this is a crime thriller film. Now the character of John Doe is probably one of the most disturbing characters in this entire film because he is a deranged psychopath who you don't really see that much in the film but when he showed up he definitely makes his presence known by  walking in the police station with blood all over him. The scenes with John Doe are probably so the scariest moments of the entire film weather it is him being interrogated by detective David Mills or him reviewing that he was the one that killed Detective David Miller's wife and the truck the twist revealed that he was the one that was behind her and everybody else´s murder is probably some of the most horrifying and some of the most messed up moments on the entire film. Fun fact actor Michael Stipe and Val Kilmer were balls considered to play John Doe. The chemistry between him and Brad Pitt is tremendous because you can tell that both of them were having a lot of fun in this film. 

Now let's talk about David Fincher. He is  a tremendous director. I liked his films that he has directed like Zodiac with Mark Ruffalo, Make with Gary Oldman and The Killer with Michael Fassbender. Now this film is no different because he does a magnificent job of directing this film because what I love about his directing is that he really develops all the character especially Detective David Mills because this is a guy that's going through a lot he have to solve this murder case and figure out who's behind all the brutal killings. He also wants to protect his wife from the killer. I also like how he incorporates the twist reveal of the film, the fact that John Doe was the one that killed detective David Miller's wife and that's probably one of his most shocking twist reveals of his films. I still think he did a magnificent job directing this film. 

So in conclusion I still really love this film. This is one of my favorite David Fincher films of all time. I love the storyline revolving around detective David Mills trying to figure out who is behind all these murders. Also the performances are amazing especially from Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman. Those two give one of the best performances of the entire film even Kevin Spacey gives one of his best performances and probably why this most horrifying performance as John Doe in the film.  I also like how David Fincher made the credits like serial killer like notes in the way the words are formed in the opening and the ending credits. I think that was really fun and really interesting of how he made the credits in the film. Also this movie does have a lot of my favorite moments whether it is the scenes of John Doe telling Detective David Mills that he was the one that killed his wife. Or Detective David Mills trying to figure out who is the killer. This is probably up there with Predators with Hugh Jackman at one of my favorite crime films of all time. I highly recommend you watch this film especially if you enjoy The Killer with Michael Fassbender which is also directed by David Fincher. Then I'm sure you're going to like this one as well. I give this film a 10/10.
