Here is My Movie Review of Heart Eyes

Now when this movie wasn't announced I was really looking forward to it because we hardly get Valentine's Day horror movies because we het halloween movies and sometimes Christmas movies but we hardly ever get a Valentine's Day movie. So I watched this movie and this is probably one of the most entertaining films of the entire year because this movie does not take itself seriously and knows exactly what it is. 

So basically what happens is that it takes place on Valentine's Day and you have this woman named Ally McCabe  and then she meets this guy named Jay Simmondy who is this hopeless romantic and who wants to find love. So the two start bonding but then they find out that the serial killer named The Heart Eyes Killer or the THEK Who has been killing couples on Valentine's Day so it's up to  Ally McCabe and Jay Simmondy To avoid being killed by The Heart Eyes Killer and survive the night. and that's basically what the story is for this film. I have to say the storyline in this movie is actually really interesting because the idea of a Valentine's Day serial killer going around killing random couples on Valentine's Day and having these two people who are not even coupled trying to survive against the killer is they really tremendous and they really fun concept in the movie executes it really well and it's probably one of the most entertained storylines of 2025. 

The performances from all the actors are really amazing because you can  tell that all of them are having a lot of fun as these characters. This is probably up there with Last Breath with Woody Harrelson as one of the best acted films of 2025. 

However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Olivia Hoit as Ally McCabe because she gives well the month captivated and the most powerful performances of the entire film. You can tell that she is having a lot of fun as this character. Now the character of Ally McCabe is tremendous because you can tell that she's going through a lot because she lost her job and now she has to outrun the Heart Eyes Killer and she keeps telling The Heart Eyes Killer that she and Jay Simmondy  are not a couple. The scenes of Ally McCabe are excellent whether it is the scene where she first meets Jay Simmondy and a team of two trying to escape the heart eyes kill our or it is the scene where she is getting stalked by The Heart Eyes Killer it does lead to some really heart pounding and really horrifying sequences in the film. The chemistry between her and Mason Gooding, Yoson An, Jordana Brewster  is terrific. 

Mason Gooding plays  Jay Simmondy In the film and his performance is really fantastic because he gives such a remarkable and spectacular performance as this character. Now the character of Jay Simmondy is incredible because he wants to help Ally McCabe try to outrun The Heart Eyes Killer and survive. The scenes with Jay Simmonds Are really epic and exhilarating whether it is the same where James Simmonds  Being interrogated by a police off of the question if he had the killer behind the Valentine's Day murders or him and Ally McCabe fighting The Heart Eyes Killer  In the drive-in theater does leave to some really suspenseful and tremendous moments in the film. The chemistry between him and Olivia Hoit is glorious. 

Now let's talk about The Heart Eyes Killer, the main villain in the film. To be honest I really enjoyed The Heart Eyes Killer as a villain because the idea of him is really interesting how he goes around killing random couples on Valentine's Day and he's just reveling in the fact that he gets to kill whoever he wants that is in a relationship. I also like the design of The Heart Eyes kill or having it be a guy that is wearing a mask with heart eyes attached to it actually makes his presence a lot more creepier and a lot more disturbing. It fits the movie theme of having a Valentine's Day serial killer. Although there are a lot of awesome moments with the Heart Eyes killer whether it's him killing this random couple at the very beginning of the film or it's him trying to kill Ally McCabe In her apartment does lead to some really showing and really disturbing sequences throughout the film. Now let's talk about the twist with The Heart Eyes Killer. It turned out that the identity is David Shaw and Jeanine Shaw who is this couple who enjoyed killing random couples because they have a killing fetish because they view killing people as fun. The Heart Eyes Killer is played by both Yoson An and  Jordana Brewster and they do a spectacular job playing The Heart Eyes Killer because the fact that they don't really talk that much in the film until the last act of it makes their performance a lot more sinister and really creepy. I think The Heart Eyes Killer is up there with The Void from Thunderbolts* as one of the best villains of 2025. The Rivalry between them and Ally McCabe and Jay Simmonds is tremendous because they were due everything the power to kill them and kill anyone on Valentine's Day.The chemistry between them and Olivia Hoit is tremendous because all of them are having fun in the film. 

However the best thing in this movie is the directing by Josh Rubin because what I love about his directing name is that he doesn't take this movie seriously when he knows what kind of movie he is making that being a Valentine's Day horror movie with a deranged serial killer named The Heart Eyes Killer. I also like how he does not push the violence back because they're the violent scene of people getting stabbed to death. Getting shot by Cuban arrows by The Heart Eyes Killer So I think that was really incredible of how he did that. So overall I think he did a terrific job directing this film. 

So in conclusion I was surprised that I really enjoyed this film. I still think the storyline, while simple, is actually really fun to follow having these two people trying to outrun a Valentine's Day serial killer named the Heart Eyes Killer is a fun concept in the film that executes it extremely well. I still think The Heart Eyes killer is up there with Red Hulk Captain America Brave New World as one of the best villains of 2025. I think The Heart Eyes Killer is up there with Proximas Caesar from Kingdom of The Planet of The Apes as one of the best villains of the 2020s. I still think this film is up there with Mickey 17 with Robert Pattinson as one of the best films of the entire year. I highly recommend you watch this film especially if you enjoy over the top horror films or just over the top films like Renfield with Nicolas Cage. Then I'm sure you're going to like this one as well. I give this movie a 10/10.
