Here is My Movie Review of Sting

Here is My Movie Review of Sting

So basically what happens is that you have this girl named Charlotte and she is 12 years old and she's dealing with some difficult things because her father left her. So she has to live with her mother Heather and her new husband Ethan who is Charlotte's stepfather. So one day she finds this spider and she names that Sting and at first sting is shown that it really likes and cares about Charlotte but at the film goes on Stand becomes more violent it grows bigger and insides to go on killing spree so it's up to Charlotte and her family too take down staying and survive against it and that's basically what the story for this movie is. Now the storyline in this movie is really interesting because the idea of a girl caring a spider but then it starts to become more sister has a lot of potential and the film did a great job of executing this brilliant idea into a really terrific storyline.

The acting in this movie is still terrific. I still think everyone does an excellent job as their characters and to be honest I think this movie is right up there with Monkey Man as one of the best active films of 2024.

However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Alyla Browne as Charlotte because she does such a glorious job of conveying really powerful emotion throughout the film. Now the character of Charlotte you really can understand why she's not happy because her father left her and she has to learn with like to live with a stepdad but also what she really wants to care for the spider that she named Sting but as the film goes It starts to have a mind of its own and she has to do everything in her power to protect our family and kill Sting. The scene where Charlotte sees Sting chasing her And her family And you can see the Panic and scared look on her face because she doesn't want Sting to kill her and her family. It is probably the most disturbing scene of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Ryan Corr, Penelope Mitchell, Danny Kim, Jermaine Fowler is still perfect.

Ryan Corr plays Charlotte's Step dad Ethan in the film. Now Ethan as a character is really interesting because he is also going through a lot he has to learn with like raise his stepdaughter Charlotte and he is also this comic book writer who is overworked. But he also wants to help his stepdaughter Charlotte to take down her evil spider pet Sting. The scene where Ethan tells his stepdaughter Charlotte that she is a really great drawer. Not only is it a really powerful moment but it makes sense because it shows that Ethan really cares about his stepdaughter Charlotte. The chemistry between him and Alyla Browne is still marvelous.

Penelope Mitchell plays Charlotte's mother Heather in the film. I have to say she still does a remarkable job as this character. Now Heather as a character is really interesting because she  also is going through a lot because her husband just left her and she had to remarried to Ethan and tell her daughter that she has to learn with what to live with a stepdad but also she want to help her daughter to take down her spider pet Sting and kill it. The scene where Heather gets attacked by the spider is not only the scariest scene of this film but it just shows how far sting will go to kill its victims. It is probably the most disturbing moment of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Alyla Browne exquisite.

Danny Kim plays Erik In the film. I have to say he still does a tremendous job as the character.  Now the character of Erik Is really incredible because he wants to figure out what sting actually is because he doesn't believe it is a spider, he believes that it is something else and wants to protect Charlotte from it. The scene where Erik sees the spider in his apartment is not only really disturbing but it makes sense because Sting wants to kill him and eat him and she does. It is probably the most nail biting and the most showing scene of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Alyla Browne  is still perfect.

Jermaine Fowler plays Frank  in the film. I have to say out of all the performances he is probably my favorite one in the film because he is so over the top but it works because you can tell he's having a lot of fun as the character. Now the character of Frank is really interesting because he is this exterminator but he hates his job. He finds it annoying to go to the same apartment and he Is probably the funniest character of the entire film. The scene where he sees Sting and he freaks out he tells Charlotte that why could've she got a dog.Not only if it is really funny but it makes sense because Frank really hates the idea of someone having a spider as a pet. It is probably the funniest moment of the entire film. The chemistry in between him and Alyla Browne Is wonderful.

Now the character Sting is really interesting because it starts off as Charlotte's pet and she really cares for it but then sting had a mind of her own and wants to kill Charlotte and her family and she is a really interesting villain and she's not spider because she's actually an alien that takes the form of a spider. The scene where Sting grows larger and chased the family is not only really horrifying but it makes sense because she wants to eat the entire family in order to grow  bigger. It is probably the most showing and creepy moment of the entire film. I still think Sting is up there with LongLegs from LongLegs as one of the best villains of 2024.

The directing by Kiah Roache Turner Is incredible because what I like about his directing is that he does a terrific job of  taking a really interesting concept like having a pet spider but making it really scary and he doesn't hold back with the violence because this movie is very bloody. But I also like how he makes this sort of a drama film because Charlotte is the character she is going through a lot because her father left her and she has to learn  what it is like to have a step dad in her life. I think it is really incredible how he did that.

So in conclusion I still really enjoy this film. The storyline was really interesting because the idea of having an alien that takes the form of a spider as a pet and Then it tries to kill you is a really smart concept and the film executes it perfectly. The horror stuff really works. All the gory things involving the spider killing the humans is the highlight of the film.  Although the relationship between Charlotte and her family is also really interesting because you really feel bad because her real father left her and she has to learn with life to bond with her stepfather. I have to say this movie is probably up there with Dear Santa as one of the most underrated films of 2024. I have to say Sting is up there with Ikaris from Eternals as the Most underrated villain of the 2020s. I kind of wish a lot of people watch this movie when it came out because this is a movie that not a lot people talk about in 2024 and that's really a shame because I think if more people watched the film I think it was made a lot more money at the box office and I think a lot of people have watched it a lot more. I think this movie is up there with Amsterdam with Christian Bale as one of the most underrated films of the 2020s. I highly recommend you watch the film especially if you enjoy Monkey Man with Dev Patel. Then I'm sure you're going to like this one. I give this movie a 40/10.
