Here is My Movie Review of Emancipation

Here is My Movie Review of Emancipation

So basically what happens is that it tells the real life tragic event of Gordon Peter Who is captured by slave owners and is separated from his family so he has to do everything in his power to get back to his family and to free himself from slavery and that's basically what the story is for this film. I have to say the story in this movie is really interesting because it's really happened to Peter. He got separated from his family and got tortured by a lot of slave owners. Do I have to say the storyline in this movie well interesting i think killers of the flower Moon had a much better storyline because there's a lot more intriguing and suspenseful and well this is not a terrible storyline I just feel like Killers of the Flower Moon is much better because the storyline is a lot more stronger is a lot more interesting to follow.

The acting in this movie is incredible. I do still think everyone does a terrific job with their performances but I do think Killers of the Flower Moon has better acting because The characters were a lot more interesting in that film.

However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Will Smith as Gordon Peter. Now the character of Gordon Peter is really accurate to his real life counterpart because he was taken  by slave owners and put to work where he was whipped and tortured for a long time and he wanted to  get back to his family. The scene where Gordon Peter gets wipped and gets put to work is probably the most disturbing moment of the entire film because this really happened in real life. The chemistry between him, Charmaine Bingwa, and  Ben Foster Is still perfect.

Charmaine Bingwa plays Gordon Peter's wife Dodienne In the film. I have to say she still does a terrific job as the character. Now the character of Dodienne Is really accurate to her real counterpart because in real life she had to watch her husband be taken away by slave owners. The scene where Dodienne watches her husband Gordon Peter get taken away by slave owners is not only really depressing but makes sense because  In real life Gordon Peter was captured and was enslaved by them to work for them. It is probably the most nail biting moment of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Will Smith is magnificent.

Ben Foster plays Fassle In the film. I have to think he still does a spectacular job as the character. Now Fassle Are the character is really accurate to his real life counterpart because in real life Fassle Captured and tortured a lot of African Americans by enslaving them and putting them to work and taking them away from their families. The scene where Fassle Captured and webs all of these slaves is probably the most brutal scene to watch because in real life he really did all that he torture them by playing them to work in brutally attacking them and it's probably the most disturbing and probably the most scary moment of the entire film because again in real life people really did do this to African Americans. The chemistry between him and Will Smith is still terrific.

Let's talk about Antoine Fuqua because this guy is a really talented director. I like a lot of stuff that he's made like SouthPawn, The Guilty, Training Day. Among other stuff he has made. I have to say he still does a tremendous job directing this film because why I love About his directing is that he did a fantastic job of showing the real life tragedy of Gordon peter perfectly because this is the guy who has taken away from a family by suave owners he was whipped and tortured and forced to work for them. He also does a terrific job of discussing heavy racism because it's one during the Civil War times where African Americans weren't treated fairly at all and what's really scary that there are people who are actually Still treat them terribly because of the races just really disturbing and messed up and I applaud him for taking the subject super seriously because racism is a heavy subject to talk about. I think it is really excellent of how he did that.

So in conclusion I still really enjoy the film because of the way it depicted Gordon Peter's tragic life of him being taken away from his family and being enslaved by sway owners. Also I think Will Smith probably gives one of his best performances in his entire career. This is probably one of the most underrated films of 2022. I have to say this is also probably the most underrated Apple TV Plus original film. But to be perfectly honest I do think Killers of the Flower Moon is a way better film because that one has a much more interesting storyline and I feel like the actors in that film give way better performances than the actors in this film. But I will say this is probably up there with Detroit from 2017 as one of the hardest things to watch because of the subject matter. I highly recommend you watch the film especially if you enjoy killers of the flower Moon with Robert De Niro. Then I'm sure you're going to like this one. I give this movie a 7/10.
