Here is My Villain Review of Dr Hector Hammond
Now I'm going to discuss the character of Dr Hector Hammond who is the main villain of 2011's Green Lantern film and explain why he is one of the best things of the entire film and one of the most entertaining villains of the film.
Origin- Now Dr Hector Hammond's origin is Really interesting because when he was younger his dad Physically and emotionally abused by pushing experiments onto him against his will and then when he got older Dr Hector Hammond was recruited by Amanda Waller and the US government to contact with a yellow spike that has fear and he touches and then it pokes him on his finger and the DNA of parallax gets injected into his body and he develops the power of fear and it makes his head grow really big which results in having telepathic abilities. Then He developed romantic feelings towards Hal Jordan's girlfriend Carol Ferris And he wanted to win her over. I think the film does an okay job of telling Doctor Hector Hammond's origin.
Character- Now Doctor Hector Hammond As a character is rather doll Because he's just not that interesting as a character but to be honest accurate to the source material because in the comics Dr Hector Hammond is not that interesting Either although the film does design with him they do kind of give him a tragic backstory because his dad mistreat him by torturing him by experimenting on him against his will. So I think the movie did an all right job of developing Dr Hector Hammond as a character.
Motivation- Now doctor Hector Hammond's motivation is that he wants revenge on his father for abusing and torturing him and to be honest it is a really great motivation and he actually succeeds in killing his father because of the way he was mistreated when he was a kid. I will say this his motivation in the library Ezekiel Sims motivation from Madame Webb because that character had a horrible and dumb motivation. Well Dr. Hector Hammond has an interesting motivation. I think the film did a decent job of giving Dr Hector Hammond an interesting motivation.
Best Scenes- Now Doctor Hector Hammond has a lot of really unintentionally funny moments and all of his scenes are really entertaining. If I had to pick my favorite Seen it'll be the scene where doctor had to Hammond is using his powers and he is screaming when his head is growing and not only that really funny but it doesn't make sense because Has had is mutine and growing really big. Is probably the most unintentionally funny moment of the entire film. It is all thanks to Peter Skarsgard´s over the top and hammy performance.
Evil Deeds- No Doctor Hector Hammond does a lot of bad things like he tries to kill his father. He tries to kill Green Lantern. He Caused Parallax to invade Earth. I think the film did a decent job of making Dr Hector Hammond evil because he had a good reason for killing his phone and because his father trained him like shit his entire life experimented on him against his will.
Conclusion- Dr Hector Hammond is a ridiculous villain but that being said he is the highlight of the film. No his origin story is really interesting and it changes a bit from the comics but I think the film did a decent job of telling it. His motivation would actually be really interesting how he wanted to kill his father because of all the torment he went through when he was younger the way his dad Experimented on him I guessed as well. The scene where Dr Hector Hammond's head grows and he starts using his telepathic abilities and he starts screaming and It is probably the most unintentionally funny moment of the entire film and it's all thanks to Peter Skarsgard´s Over the top and hammy performance. I'm going to give Dr Hector Hammond a 7/10.
