Here is My Movie Review of Poltergeist 2015

Here is My Movie Review of Poltergeist 2015

So basically what happened in that you have this guy named Eric Bowen and his wife Dmy Bowen and their kids they moved to the suburbs to this new house but unfortunately they find out that that's house is filled of paranormal haunting and Their daughter Madison Bowen hares  voices coming from a closet and then she gets sucked in into the TV so the family Higher these three Praise to cleanse the house and try to get their daughter back and that's basically what the story is for this film. The storyline in this movie is nothing but a radiator friend of the original Poltergeist from 1982 because the exact same thing happens only there the storyline was really suspenseful, well in this one it's just not even that intense or interesting.

The acting this movie is really bad because none of the actors feel scared when they are playing the characters and it feels like they're just reading off a script and I'm going to say this as much as I do not like Velvet BuzzSaw the one positive I can give to that movie is I actually believed that the actors acted really scared and looked more realistic here It just feels like they're not going through the motions.

However the worst performance I'm sorry to say Sam Rockwell  Is really terrible as Eric Bowen because it just feels like he's reading off the script  because is so over the top I'll say this I think in the last 10 minutes in the movie he did improve on his performance but not by much so by the end of the film he did give 10% more effort than he did throughout the rest of the film but that's still not enough to say that is a good performance because still garbage and what's really disappointing is that Sam Rockwell is a very tremendous actor because he is very versatile He can be funny like how is in Iron Man 2 as Justin Hammer or he could be very emotional like in the movie Moon as Sam Bell. But in this way it felt like Sam Rockwell really didn't really give a shit because if it felt like he just wanted to be in this movie just so he can get over with and get a paycheck that was the only reason why she made the film. But as bad as Sam Rockwell's performance is that's not to compare to the character of Eric Bowen Is such an asshole in this movie because he doesn't believe his own son Griffin Bowen that the house is haunted thinks everything is fine and I'm here think dude you house is haunting you to probably leave but he doesn't even leave he convinces his family that everything is okay and like when you have paranormal haunting in your house you have to leave because if you stay you'll just get the spirits mad even more and then consequences will happen very often consequences will happen. But the worst scene with Eric Bowen Is where he is against the wall back and forth and the kids think that he is possessed but  he was just messing with them and it wasn't really funny because they  thought he was possessed and but it just there to be stupid and unfriend joke It's probably one of the worst moments of the entire film. Also in original film the dad was a lot more caring towards the family and he was a lot more likable than how he is in this piece of garbage of a film The chemistry between him and Rosemary DeWitt, Kyle Catlett, Saxon Sharbino, Jared Harris, and Kennedi Clements Is decent.

DeWitt plays Eric Bowen´s wife Dmy Bowen  In the film I have to say she was also really bad in this movie because it didn't feel like she was Actually being scared it felt like she was just reading off the script and didn't feel like she wanted to be in the film and it just feels like she was born throughout the entire thing. But the character of Dmy Bowen  is also unlikable because much like her husband she also doesn't believe her son that the house is haunted she thinks everything is okay she thinks everything's fine it's just really really dumb but probably the worst thing about the characters where she actually finally figured out that there are paranormal hauntings and when she freaks out  It didn't feel believable because in the original film when the mother freaked out in that film you actually blind because she was worried that she in her husband never see their daughter again. Probably the worst scene with Dmy Bowen Is where her and her husband and their kids moving to this house and it just comes off at really dumb because she think the house is fine and there's nothing wrong with it and it's like if you move into a house you gotta make sure that's not haunted but again sent the characters in this movie are unlikable they have to do the dumbest stuff in this film. It's probably the second worst scene of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Sam Rockwell is decent.

Saxon Sharbino plays  Eric Bowen  and Dmy Bowen´s teenage daughter Kendra Bowen In the film. I have to say she is awful as this character because it feels like she is just going through the motions and not really caring about giving a good performance and that is exactly as it is because her performance is so dry and stale that she doesn't even throughout this entire film. But the character of Kendra Bowen Is really bad because all she does is constantly be on her phone she complains to her parents that the house is haunted again they don't believe her and she's just a stereotypical teenage girl who is just grumpy all the time that's all her character is  I don't even think she has a character because the thing I just mentioned is that she is just a very stupid  teenager. The scene where Cassandra Brown finally figured out that the house is haunted is very very cheesy and weird because when she freaks out you don't believe it because you believe it in the original film because the original one was scary and memorable. The chemistry between her and Sam Rockwell is fine.

Now there is one great performance in this awful piece of shit of a film  is Jared Harris as Carrigan Burke. To be honest he was the one actor that I felt like was having fun because everybody else felt so bored in the film that they did´t want to be there but with Jared Harris I actually  feel like he wanted to be here because I'm going say this he was only character that was likable he wanted to help the family cleanse and get rid of all the evil spirits and he had the best dialogue in the film and well it was not perfect. There was some stuff that he said that   made me laugh, there were some jokes that he said were pretty funny. I feel like this guy should have been the main character in the film, not the family. Probably the best scene with Carrigan Burke when he mentions to his wife that he wasn't scared of ghosts and that was really funny because it was a friendly argument that he and his wife had and it was probably one of the best parts in the film. The chemistry between him and Sam Rockwell I actually think was actually really awesome.

Kyle Catlett plays Eric Bowen  and Dmy Bowen´s son Griffin Bowen In the film. much like the rest of the cats he is really bad in this movie as Griffin Bowen because it feels like when we scared he is just overacting and it doesn't feel like he's generating good or intense emotions when he gets scared because in the original film you actually bought the fact that he was afraid of the paranormal haunting and the fact that this movie folks is on him and not Madison Bowen  is completely dumb because it doesn't make any sense because in the original film it mostly focused on the daughter and not the son and Well he was in it he was a supporting character The movie man we focused around the parents and Madison trying to get out of the haunted house before getting attacked by the evil spirits. But the character of Griffin Bowen  Is really bad becauseBecause she freaks out a lot and it doesn't make any sense and he does try to tell his parents about the hauntings and the paranormal experience but they don't believe them and then he freaks out and I get that he was trying to be scared but it came off as a poor attempt to be scared. The scene where he gets grabbed by the possessed tree just didn't make any sense because in the original they built it up boy that they just rushed to it and it didn't feel earned and felt more like a poor attempt to shock the audience into react to something that's happening on screen and just completely fails Of making the audience feeling bad for the characters. The chemistry between him and Sam Rockwell was decent.

Kennedi Clements Eric Bowen  and Dmy Bowen´s  Youngest daughter Madison Bowen She is really terrible as Madison Bowen because her performance doesn't even hold a candle to Heather O´Rourke´s Powerful and Iconic performance as the character of Carol Freeling in the original film. But the character of Madison Bowen  is really terrible and does not resemble the original character in the slice because in the original film their daughter was actually scared by all the paranormal haunting and she believed that the house was haunted but in this she doesn't even believe that the house is haunted until the last like 30 minutes on the film and it just feels like The film is trying to rehash the character from the original film but completely failed and forgot what made Carol Freeling  Such a memorable and perfect character In that film. But the scene with Madison Brown was very terribly active and written because she done it talk to the TV like in the original she talks to her closet and the line she says They're coming It just does the whole candle to the way that the daughter from the original that the line because it was actually scary when she said but in this it feels like the actress which is rating off of a script. It's probably the biggest middle finger to the original film. The chemistry between her and Sam Rockwell is okay.

The special effects in this film Are not that bad I will admit that is it other positive that the effects for the demonic experience were actually really great there was some good CGI now not all of it was good but there were some good CGI facts like the scene where the The house is falling apart that was a really great CGI effect but the clown toy that was a really bad CGI effect because it felt really fake. So overall I think the CGI and special effects are decent.

The ending of  this movie is really bad because Well the end battle with the spares what actually won the best parts of the film and Sam Rockwell's performance did get a little bit better It was still pretty bad because they moved to a new house They immediately leave because they saw the same tree from there previous house and it does not make any sense and it validly the movie and it is all just a really stupid joke and the ending in the original is really scary because they move to a hotel but the spirits are still falling them and that's what made the original movies ending really scary and memorable while the ending in this film it feels more like a parody of the original ending the overall I think well the end battle was decent The ending itself is was really bad.

But the worst thing about this entire movie is the directing by Gil Kenan Because he did not understand anything about the original 1982 Poltergeist film because that film was really scary well this film is just a generic horrible horror remake film and what made the original one really scary that it doesn't actually start out of the horror movie I just started out of the lighthouse comedy film and then it gets more disturbing on the film going on here the it turns into a horror movie in the first 10 minutes of the film so that was really stupid and very weird and did not make any sense. So overall I think he did a terrible job of directing the film because he obviously did not know what he was doing and it felt like he didn't understand the original Poltergeist film.

So In conclusion I hated this movie the storyline with the lazy retread of the original 1982 Poltergeist film. The characters were all unlikable. They were all annoying and selfish except for Jared Harris's character Carrigan Burke because it felt like he was the only actor that was having fun and he had the best dialogue throughout the film. The special effects were decent, they weren't perfect but they were  decent to look at. The last 10 minutes of the film was actually very good and Sam Rockwell did give 10% more effort in his performance but still he was really bad In the film. The ending was an insult to the original film. This is one of the worst movies of 2015. It's the worst horror movie I have ever seen and it is the worst remake ever made. Just skip this film and go watch The original Poltergeist from 1982. It is way better, it's way more scary and the characters are a lot more likable. I give this movie a 2/10.
