What Makes A Villain Underrated

What Makes A Villain Underrated

Now I'm going to explain what makes a villain underrated, what makes them memorable, what  makes them entertaining and just mention why either nobody really talks about them or they think that they are a horrible villain.

Now there are a lot of villains out there that nobody really discusses enough because they either think they're very boring and bland or they just say they're flat out terrible. But some people actually do find some villains that are really underrated and that's what I want to discuss. I'm going to give a few examples of what I consider are underrated villains and discuss villains that could be considered underrated.

Now there are a lot of villains that I find extremely underrated and I'm going to give a few examples and explain why they are underrated. Like for example Maximus Boltagon from Marvel's The  Inhumans. Now  a lot of people say he is the worst MCU villain of all time but to be honest I love Maximus Boltagon as the villain because the second you see him on screen you and right from the start you hate him because he does so many horrible and disgusting and evil things. His motivations and backstory are very interesting because When he and his brother were kids black boat raised his voice and killed both of their parents and before that Maximus Boltagon wanted to be king but their father declared their oldest son Black Bolt became king instead and Maximus Boltagon became jealous because he was denied the chance to be king. The performance by Irwan Rheon is probably the most underrated MCU villain performance because he does a tremendous and Outstanding job as the character. You can tell that he is having fun in the role just soaking up every powerful and intense moment and just making his own. Another villain that I find underrated is Ikaris from Eternals. Now a lot of people say that he is a weak and bland MCU villain but I never really have a problem with him his motivations makes sense he wants to keep the earth and balance and what I like about him is that at first he is the good guy in the movie he is the hero but once the certain thing happens in the film he he snaps and becomes the villain and his villain turn is so believable and it is the best twist reveals in the MCU because throughout the movie you think he is our main character the main Character were following in the film but he starts to go bad when they don't obey his order the keeping everything in the universe balance and Richard Madden's performance it just so powerful and so entertaining to watch because you can tell that he is having a lot of fun in the role. Another Villain I find really underrated Is Balthazar Brad from Despicable Me 3. Now  some people find him either really funny or some people find them very annoying but to be honest I never found them that annoying I actually found them very funny He this actor who used to have his own show called Evil Brand but once he was a teenager they kicked him off the show and that's when he lost it and he will revenge on Hollywood from from booting him out of his own show. Now Balthazar Brad Have a lot of funny moments but the funniest moment is where he's in his speed boat and he tells his robot Clive to turn on the music and he wanted heist music but it was this romantic music and he got really annoyed by that because he wanted heist music not romantic relaxing music. The performance by Trey Parker is so wonderful and entertaining he just hams it up the entire time he's not taking any of it seriously and you can tell he had a lot of fun voicing the character. The last villain I will mention is kind of a weird choice because he's not evil in the main MCU timeline but I'm going to mention anyway it is of course Hank Pym from Marvel's What If…?. Now this is a villain that not a lot people hate but I don't really see a lot of people discuss this villain when they talk about MCU villains and it's kind of surprising because I think Hank Pam is a very interesting villain because his motivation that he wants revenge on shield and Nick Fury for sending his daughter Hope Van Dyne on a mission and she gets killed in the process and this anger's him so he decided to kill all the Avengers I think his motivation makes sense because he had Lose the thing him loved most which was his daughter. The scene where he confronts Nick Fury is one of the best Villain Versus hero confrontations in the MCU. He is voiced by Michael Douglas who plays Hank Pam in the main MCU timeline and he still does a tremendous job even when he portrays an evil interpretation of the character. He is still entertaining to watch and you can tell that Michael Douglas is having a lot of fun voicing the character.

So those were villains that I find really underrated. Now I'm going to give a few examples of villains that could be considered underrated because either nobody talks about them or they think they are a horrible or bland villain. No this is a villain that not a lot of people like and that is of course Darren Cross who is the main villain in Ant-Man and the secondary villain in Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantum Mania Now a lot of people say that here he very weak and boring villain but to be honest I never really hated him as a villain I always thought he was very entertaining especially when he turned into M.O.D.O.K I think that's where the character shines the most especially his villain reform scene is very funny and to be honest yes it is cringe worthy yes it's ridiculous but that's what makes it so funny and I think if they watch these Ant-Man movie Again they might actually enjoy Darren Cross as a villain. Although the performance by Corey Stoll in both films is so entertaining and very underrated as well He gave a very underrated MCU villain performance. Now this next villain he's not horrible but he is a villain that nobody really talks about and it Really surprising because he is voiced by Davy Jones himself Bill Nighy and is  General Fallon from Jack the Giant Slayer. Now General Fallon as a villain is very dark and very disturbing but that's what makes him so scary because right from the start when you see him Confront Jack when he is in his castle it is really dark because he wants to kill Jack and princess Isabella and eat them and destroy the entire kingdom and His motivation is very strong and the scene Is looking for Jack and he says I smell the blood of an Englishman and not only is it really intense but it just shows how dark and disturbing this villain is and it's all thanks to Bill Nighy excellent and entertaining performance. I think if more people watched the movie again, I think they would actually enjoy General Fallon as a villain. The last villain I will mention is The Chameleon from Kung Fu Panda 4. Now this is a villain a lot of people don't really seem to like saying that she is a weak villain. But to be honest I actually did enjoy her villain. Now yes, she is the weakest Kung Fu Panda villain if you compare her to Lord Shen from Kung Fu Panda 2 and Ti Lung from the first film. I actually did enjoy her back story because she wanted to learn how to do kung fu but they told her she was too small so she got mad because her dreams were crushed so she decided to turn to sorcerer instead and become a sorceress and The Chameleon Have they really interesting motivation because she wants to harness all of the previous Kung-Fu Master that Poe has defeated and the scene where she turned into a giant dragon is what the best scenes in the film. She is voiced by Amanda Waller herself Viola Davis and she does a terrific job with her performance. The scene where she says to her helpers finds me more or I will toss you down another flight of stairs and not only is it really funny but it just shows how evil. It says all thanks to Violet Davise´s entertaining and powerful performance. I think if people rewatch the movie again they may end up liking The Chameleon even more.

So in conclusion this was a lot of fun to do. It was very interesting to discuss villains that I find extremely underrated and  mentioned a few that could be considered very underrated. Also it was very interesting to discuss why I found Ikaris from Eternals to be a very underrated MCU villain. It was very fun to discuss why The Chameleon from Kung Fu Panda 4 could be considered a very underrated villain.
