Here is My Villain Review of The Colonel
Now I'm going to Discuss the character Of the Colonel who had the main villain 2017´s War for the Planet of The Apes and I'm going to explain why he's one of the most cold hard villains in the trilogy and what makes him such a fierce and compelling villain.
Character- Now The Colonel is the most vile and the most disgusting character in the trilogy because unlike Dreyfus from Dawn of The Planet of The Apes who you can feel bad for and you can understand what it's coming from. The Colonel is not sympathetic at all in fact he don't care about anything except for himself he likes to torture and the apes he loves to whip them he loves to put them in cages and he'll do anything in his power to get what he once that is including killing anyone who gets in his way. I think the film did an incredible job of making The Colonel cold-hearted and evil character that you just love to hate you just want something horrible to happen to him.
Motivation- Now The Colonel's motivation Is very interesting because he wants to wipe out all the Apes he wants to kill Caesar and his team he wants to kill their friend Nova Because he wants the humans to be the dominant race He doesn't want The apes to take over the world. I think the film does a glorious job of giving the colonel a very powerful and understandable motivation because he wants to kill all the apes so the humans can become the dominant race before the apes actually got very intelligent. Also his motivation is very similar to Colonel Williams Striker in X2 X-Men United because both of them are fanatics they want to kill a third and raise so their race can stay alive forever they Both hate different things because Colonel Williams Striker hates The Mutants. Well the Colonel hates apes but both of them want to wipe out the race that they hate the most and what is really scary is that both of them believe that they're doing the right thing but they're actually doing a harmful and deadly way.
Best Scenes- Now The Colonel has a lot of intense and memorable scenes but if I had to pick my favorite scene it'll be the scene where the Colonel points a gun at Caesar's head and counts down from five To kill him and not only was it very disturbing but it made sense between you kill Caesar and the apes if they didn't go back and do their chores and it is probably the most disturbing moment of the entire filament all thanks to Woody Harrelson's terrifying and tremendous performance.
Evil Deeds- Now The Colonel has done so much evil shit in the film for example he tried to kill Caesar and the rest of the apes he tortured them he likes to watch them suffer he tries to kill Caesar's friends Maurice and Nova. Killed Caesar's Wife and kids. NoThe Colonels message are messed up but at the same time you do understand where he's coming from he's paranoid that the aims are going to take over the world so in order Prevent That from happening he decided to kill every single one of them so the humans could be the dominant race and I did the film did a marvelous job of making The Colonel such a cold blood asshole that you just want something terrible to happen to him for all the bad stuff he has done.
Conclusion- The Colonel is without one of the most evil and terrifying villains in the Planet of the Apes Trilogy and that's what makes him so memorable because his motivations are understandable by the same time he does go about in a very dark and messed up way. Head motivations are very entertaining. How he whats to wipe out all the apes so the humans can be the dominant race again. He is probably my second favorite villain in the trilogy. My favorite villain in the trilogy is Dreyfus from Dawn Planet of the Apes. I think that villain is much more sympathetic than The Colonel. But The Colonel is a lot more fun to hate because he is the most cruel evil bastard that you just want something horrible to happen to him. The scene where he points the gun at Caesar and threatens to shoot him in the head if he and the other apes don't go back to work is probably the darkest scene of the entire trilogy. It is all thanks to Woody Harrison's terrifying and incredible performance. I'm going to give The Colonel a 10/10.
