Here is My Movie Review of The Kings of Summer

Here is My Movie Review of The Kings of Summer

So basically what happens is that you have this teenager named Joe Toy and he is having a rough time at home with his abusive father Frank Toy who constantly mistreats him so he decides to get away from it all and he starts spend time with his friends Patrick Keenan and Biagio and they decide to run away from  home  and start to live out in the woods creating their own home and their own new lives and it is of them spend as much time with each other as possible and make the best of their summer and that is basically what the story is for this film. The storyline is kind of similar to the Goonies when you have a lot of friends playing time with each other but the only difference is that film had to do with the treasure hunt Well this film has to do with escaping a horrible home life and I did the film does a excellent job of depicting the storyline really well The way I can summit up this film it  is a Rated R version of The Goonies because  both films have a group of friends that like to spend time with each other.

The acting in this movie is still glorious. I still think all the actors are having a lot of fun with the characters. Also everyone is giving awesome and emotional and entertaining performances throughout the film and I think the acting this movie is up there with the acting in Ant-Man as one of the best acted films.

However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Nick Robertson as Joe Toy.   What makes Joe Toy such a Incredible character that you really feel bad for him because his home life is garbage because his dad Frank Toy just yell at him and mistreats him and just abuses him emotionally so you can to tell why he wants to get out of his horrible home life and spend some time with his friends. Probably the best moment with Joe Toy is where he gets mad at Kelly and tell her to leave there clubhouse and not only was it really dark but it made sense because he didn't want any girls or anyone else to come to their hiding spot he wants  to be a boy thing and it's probably one of the most shocking moments of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Gabriel Basso, Nick Offerman, Eerin Moriarty, and Moises Arias Is spectacular.

Gabriel Basso plays Patrick Keenan In the film. I have to say he still does a tremendous job as the character. What makes Patrick Keenan such an incredible character Is that much  like Joe Toy he wants to escape from his depressing home life. Probably the best moment with Patrick Keane Is where he He and Joe toy are walking towards the new house and they entered into it and they find Biagio just standing there and not only was it really funny but it made sense because they didn't know that Biagio was already there and they got startled by him and it is probably the funniest moment of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Nick Robertson is excellent.

Now out of all the performances my absolute favorite is of course Moises Arias as Biagio because of all the actors he is the one that's having the most fun in the film. Now Biagio out of character is probably my favorite character in the film. He is so mysterious. He is really funny, but he also has a heart. He really cares about his friends Joe Toy, Patrick Keenan, and Kelly. Probably the best moment with Biagio is where he is camouflage and Patrick Keenan mentions that he is camouflage horribly and Not only was it really funny but it made sense because he was covered in leaves but he wasn't camouflaged really well because he was just sitting in a tree and it is probably one of the funniest moments of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Nick Robertson is astounding.

Nick Offerman plays Joe Toy's dad Frank Toy. I have to say he still does an excellent job as the character. No Frank toy of the character is one of the most horrible and one of the most disgusting And cold-hearted characters in this entire film. He trades his son Joe Toy like shit he yells at him because he wants him to follow his orders. He is very racist towards Asian people particularly to the character of Colin But at the same time you do understand why he's like that he is the alpha of the family he had the one that is in charge of running the house. Probably the best moment with Frank Toy is where he Ask his daughter Heather toy if he is a terrible person and no way is it kind of emotional but it makes sense he's clutching if he's really doing a good job of raising his family and it is probably that one of the more intense moments of the film. The chemistry between him and Nick Roberts is perfect.

Eerin Moriarty plays Kelly in the film. I have to say she still does an awesome job as the character What makes Kelly such an Interesting character that she really cares about Joe Toy. To have some fun and forget all about his depressing home life. Probably the best moment with Kelly is where She is bonding with her friends in the house and not only is it really powerful but makes sense because they really care about her. It is probably the strongest moment of the entire film; The chemistry between her and Nick Robertson is excellent.

The directing by Jordan Vogt-Roberts Is really incredible because I like about his directing  is that He doesn't great job of discussing the subject of having a poor home life because what's really sad is that there are people who have abusive parents who are dated to alcohol and constantly yelling at their kids to do better and I feel like he did just that with the character of Joe Toy because he had the abusive father and a terrible home life and I think it is really terrific of how he did that.

So in conclusion I still really enjoy this film Because the storyline is very emotional but also really fun because we get to watch these three teenagers bond well there spending time in the woods together. The character Biagio is one of my favorite characters in the movie because he's really mysterious but he's the funniest character in the entire film. Even if something is simple trying to camouflage in a tree just comes off as really funny and very entertaining. The character of Joe goes through something very emotional because the film does a brilliant job making you feel bad for him because he has such a poor home life. I still think This is one of the most underrated of 2013. I still think more people should watch this film especially if you like the Goonies with Ke Huy Quan. Then I'm sure you're going to like this one. I give this movie a 10/10.
