Here is My Movie Review of Artemis Fowl

So basically is what happens is that you have this kid named Artemis Fowl the II I'll find out that his dad has been kidnapped so he has to find this mysterious object to use of a bargaining chip so he can get his dad back  and he has also in a epic battle with these underground fairies that he has to battle them so he can get his dad back and that is basically what the story is for this film. Now the story in the film is really terrible because you don't know what's going on and that's the biggest problem. This whole film is just a gigantic mess. 

Now the acting in this movie is probably the worst acting I have ever seen in a Disney film  because if you think The Wild has really bad acting At least with that film you can say that the actors were trying to give good performances with this film virtually nobody is giving a great performance. 

Now for this being Ferdia Shaw´s very first film that he ever started in. I have to say he is really awful as Artemis Fowl The II because it just feels like he's just going through the motions then just sleep walking throughout his entire performance. Now the character of Artemis Fowl the second is completely wrong because in the books he is a villain even though he is the main character of the books. But in this film they decide to make him into a hero. That's not how the character of Artemis Fowl is supposed to. Artemis Fowl is supposed to be this evil genius and criminal mastermind. Now the film tried to make you feel sorry for him because he wants to find his dad reunited with him but to be honest I didn't feel bad for him because he's just not an engaging character. To be honest I felt more bad for Captain America when he found his best friend Bucky Barnes being brainwashed by Hydra and becoming The Winter Soldier Because he did really care for his Best friend and wanted him to not be controlled by Hydra anymore. The chemistry between him and Colin Farrell, Josh Gad, Molly Harris, Nonso Anozie, and Judi Dench is decent. 

Now the only positive I have for the film is that I still  think all the actors work well with each other. 

Josh Gad plays Mulch Diggums In the film. I have to say this is probably Josh Gad's worst performance He had ever done and was really disappointing Is that he is a really fantastic actor Pictures of if you want him in Frozen as Olaf you can see that he is really funny as an actor and he can play serious like in murder on the orange express when he played Hector McQueen. But in this film it just feels like he is sleepwalking and I just feel like he's just doing it too paid. Now the character of Mulch Diggums  Is pray bad because he doesn't really contribute much to the story All he does in the film is narrate and eats dirt with crape in it and that's all he does and he's mostly in jail for the majority of the film So it doesn't really do anything whatsoever. The chemistry between him and Ferdia Shaw is okay. 

Nonso Anozie plays Domovoi Butler In the film. I have to say he is garbage In this film because it just feels like he doesn't want to be in the film and much like Josh Gad it feels like he's just doing this just to get  paid and it doesn't feel like he cares about being in this film. Now the character of Domovoi Butler Is pretty awful because all he does is just give exposition and fight the underground fairies and that's all he does, he doesn't really contribute much to the film. The chemistry between him and Ferdia Shaw  Is average. 

Call Farrell plays  Artemis Fawl´s dad  Artemis Fawl Sr. In the film. I have to say this is probably Colin Farrell's worst performance Because it just feels like he is bored he doesn't feel like he really wants to do the movie and was really disappointing is that much like Josh Gad he's a really great actor if you see him as Stu Shepherd in Phone Booth or if you've seen him as The Penguin in the Batman he is a really fantastic actor. But in this film it just feels like he is completely bored and not to mention he is completely wasted. He's only in the beginning and at the end of the film. Also this is probably up there with Jude Law as one the actors that Disney has wasted In a movie because Jude Law was wasted in Peter Pan and Wendy as Captain Hook from this year. Now the character of  Artemis Fawl Sr Is pretty boring because all he is here for is to be kidnapped and rescued and that is All he does throughout this entire film is to just be rescued and he doesn't really contribute much to the story whatsoever. The chemistry between him and Ferdia Shaw Is okay. 

Judi Dench plays Commander Root In the film. I have to say she is really really terrible in the film and it feels much like Colin Farrell and Josh Gad. It just feels like she did this just to get a paycheck. What is really disappointing is that, much like Colin Farrell and Josh Gad, Judi Dench is a really great actress if you've seen her in Murder on The Orient Express as Princess Natalia Dragomiroff or if you've seen her in Esio Trot as Ms. Silver. You can tell that She is a really wonderful and talented actress. No the character of Commander Root is very boring and just a overall flat character All she does is that she gives orders and she gives expedition and that's all she does for the entire movie She doesn't really do anything and the character and much like the rest of the characters She doesn't really contribute much to the story at all. The chemistry between her and Ferdia Shaw Is fine. 

 However the absolute worst performance in the entire film is Molly Harris as Opal Koboi Because much like the rest of the cast it just feels like she has sleepwalking throughout this entire movie and again it just feels like she's doing this just to get a paycheck and nothing else. Now the character of  Opal Koboi  If so bland and one of the worst villains of the 2020s because her motivation is to take over the world and that's it then nothing interesting About that we have seen this motivation done hundreds and billions of times in movies and TV shows and sometimes it could be have interesting spin on it like Thanos from the Infinity Saga. Also they don't give a reason why she wants to take over the world. With Thanos he wanted to wipe out half of all life in the universe to restore balance from the universe so he had good intentions. He just went about in a bad way. Also it just feels like she's barely in the movie. She doesn't really contribute much except just to give exposition like the rest of the characters. The rhyming between her and Artemis Fowl is not really good because they don't even build up the rivalry unlike with Thanos and the Avengers they build it up from Avengers all the way up to Avengers Endgame. Here they don't do that at all and that's why Opal Koboi  fails as a villain on so many levels. The chemistry between her and Ferdia Shaw Is average. 

Now the worst thing about the entire film is that it is directed by Kenneth Branagh and his directing is really terrible because I don't know what he wanted to be. Did he want to be a spy movie or an action sci-fi film? I just don't know what he wanted the film to be and is really sad that Kenneth Branagh is a really talented director. He directed the first Thor film back in 2011 He directed Murder on  the Orient Express from 2017 and he also directed this year's A Haunting in Venice. This is probably one of his worst films that he had ever directed. 

Also special effects are probably the worst special effects I have ever seen in a Disney film because when you look at the special effects in this movie it just feels really nauseous and it is just a big CGI mess Now as much people hate Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantum Mania at least with that film it looks like a film that had effort in it with its CGI and special effects but with this film it didn't feel Disney even tried to make really great special effects for the film. Now the budget of the film was 125 million dollars and it feels like it was $6.45.That's how bad the special effects are. 

So In Conclusion I still think this is one of the worst Disney films ever made. This is still one of the worst films of 2020 and one of the worst films of the 2020s. The storyline in the mess, the acting is very awful. Despite this film having really awesome  actors such as Colin Farrell, Judy, Dench, and Josh Gad they can't even redeem the film. That's how bad the acting is for the film. The special effects and CGI are very horrible because it just looks like a low budget film from a really bad '80s sci-fi film. Also Opal Koboi is one of the worst Disney villains of time because she is so boring, has a very cliche and predictable motivation, has no personality and the film doesn't develop her at all. Also this film is so boring and slow. I would rather watch paint dry because it dries faster than having to finish this film. That's how boring and Terrible the movie is. Just skip it and go watch better Disney or sci-fi films like Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 Chris Pratt or Ant-Man The Wasp Quantum Mania with Paul Rudd because with those films that have better acting, they go by much faster, they have better directing,  better villains and way better special effects. I give this movie a 1/10.
