Here Is My Movie Review of The Shallows

So basically what happened and that you have this woman named Nancy and she is a medical student and she likes to Surf so one day She decides to go surfing but then she gets attacked by a shark so she has to do everything her power to take down the shark and survive and that is basically what the story is for this movie. 

Now even though  this movie has a few characters the film only focuses on one character for the entire film. 

However the absolute standout of the entire film is Blake Lively as Nancy. What makes Nancy such an awesome character is That you really feel bad for because she's still coping with the loss of her mother and she has to do everything in her power to survive against the shark. Probably the best thing with Nancy is where She is trying to fight off the shark by trying to set it on fire and not only was it really intense but it made sense because she wanted to kill the shark and survive. Is it probably the darkest moment in the entire film. Nancy really reminds me of Our Man from All is Lost because both of them have to survive in the middle of the ocean. 

The directing by Jamume Collet-Serra is excellent because what I like about his directing is that He does a great job of developing the character of Nancy because you really feel bad for her because she has to survive against the shark and also she asked him to cope with the loss of her mother. I think it is really incredible how he did that. 

So in conclusion I really enjoyed this film because it makes you root for the character of Nancy to survive against the shark. I also like how this film is not an A24 film but in some ways it is kind of like an A24 film because it had a really simple story and a really interesting character. I think this is one of the best movies of 2016. If you enjoy the movie Castaway with Tom Hanks then I'm sure you'll like this one. I give this movie a 10/10.
