Here is My Movie Review of Swan Song
Now it comes to this film I always enjoyed it because It has so much emotion in the film and the characters are developed perfectly and this film has a tremendous cast cast you have a lot of MCU actors and they are really terrific in the film. I also enjoy the storyline which is really interesting because it focuses on this guy named Cameron Turner and he realized that he has this terminal illness that he might not get to live long so he visits this scientist named Dr Scott and she tells them that the only way he would live is let a clone named Jack to take over his life and Cameron he doesn't want that he just wants to be better but Dr Scott insist of transferring all his memories into the Clone so It can be there for Cameron's family when he's no longer around. To be honest I think the storyline is the best thing about this movie. I think this film is up there with Cherry as one of the best films of 2021.
Now the storyline in this movie is magnificent because it focuses on this guy named Cameron Turner and he realized that he has this terminal illness that he might not get to live long so he visits this scientist named Dr Scott and she tells him that the only way he would live is let a clone take over his life and Cameron he doesn't want that he just wants to be better but Dr Scott insist of transferring all his memories into the Clone named Jack so It can be there for Cameron's family when he's no longer around. To be honest the storyline is kind of similar to the farewell from 2019 because in that film Billi had to deal with her grandmother having a Terminal illness which was cancer and she couldn't tell her family because they had to keep a secret and in this film Cameron Turner is dealing with a torment illness But he doesn't want To Die because he wants to be there for his family and I think both movies execute the storyline really well.
The Performances in this movie are incredible because you can tell that all these actors are giving really emotional and captivating performances as these characters and one of the actors is known for being funny but yet even she is able to give a really powerful and emotional performance like how she did in the farewell I think this film is up there with the acting
However the absolute biggest stand out of the entire film is Mahershala Ali who plays Cameron Turner and his younger clone Jack in this film and he probably gave the one the most emotional in one of the most tragic but beautiful performances other than the entire career because look Mahershala Ali is a outstanding actor he has given some really terrific performances like in Green Book Moonlight, Spider-Man into the Spider-verse, leave the world behind. But this is probably one of his best performances he had ever done. Now the character of Cameron Turner is very tragic because this is a guy that is finding out that he's suffering through a terminal illness and he doesn't want to die because he's worried that if he does his wife would be devastated and he doesn't want to tell her and he doesn't want his memories to be transferred to a different body he wants to be cured. But the Clone Jack tells Cameron that everything could be okay he will make his family happy and be there for them It does show that he really cares about Cameron how he wants to help him move on and accept the fate that he might not live for very long. The scenes with Cameron Turner are probably throwing the emotional and some of the most saddest moments you will ever see in this film especially him telling his wife Poppy that he has a turmoil illness or him breaking down to Dr Scott telling her that he doesn't want his clone Jack to take his place. Or the Clone trying to tell the real Cameron that everything could be okay he will take care of his family it does lead to some really sad and some really heart-wrenching moments throughout the film. The chemistry between him and Glenn Close, Naomie Harris, and Awkwafina Is still terrific.
Now let's talk about Glenn Close who plays Dr Scott in the film And see they really tremendous actress she has given a lot of fun and incredible performances like in Wake Up A Dead Man Knives Out Mystery, Tarzan, The Girl With All The Gifts. Now ask for this film this is she probably gives one of the emotional and one of the most mesmerizing performances of her entire career. Now the character of Dr Scott is remarkable because you can tell that this is a character who really wants to help Cameron Turner be cured of his terminal illness but as well as telling him that he'll eventually have to move on and except the fact that the Clone would have to have his memories and take care of his family when he passes away. The scene dr Scott are incredible because throughout the movie she tried to tell Cameron Turner that the Clone would actually have to take over for him when he passes away and the argument that they have in the film is remarkable it's probably one of the most heaviest moments of the entire film because Cameron doesn't want to die he wants to be cured of his illness and he doesn't want a clone to take over his life. The chemistry between her and Mahershala Ali Is still really excellent.
Now Let's talk about Naomie Harris Who is a tremendous actress because she has given some really captivating and some really Stellar performances and films like Moonlight, 28 Days Later, Black Bag. But this film she probably gives most emotionally. Also one of the most beautiful performances of her entire career as the character of Poppy Turner Now the character of Poppy Turner is most the most emotional characters because she really cares about her husband Cameron Turner and she believes that he's going to be okay and when should you find out that he is not going to be okay because if it's tomorrow illness It breaks her heart because she is worried that she will never see her husband again and throughout the movie she keeps asking if he's okay. The fiends involving poppy Turner are incredible especially the scene where she finds out that her husband is terminally sick and it's probably one of the saddest moments in the film because she realize that he is not going to have much time left to live and she's afraid of losing him and it's probably one of the most heart-wrenching moments throughout the film and the bonding between her and Cameron in the strongest aspect of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Mahershala Ali is still really extraordinary.
Now let's talk about Awkwafina who is an actress I really enjoy I know some people find their annoying I always thought she was a terrific actress she has given some really fun and entertaining Performance like in Shang Chi, The Farewell, Crazy Rich Agents, Marvel Zombies, Even her small role in Migration. But in this film she probably gives one the most emotional performance is as the character of Katy and you can tell that she is having a lot of fun and it does prove that Awkwafina can do dramatic rolls and I kind of want to see her do more Dramatic films that's how terrific she is in this film. Now the character of Kate Is probably my favorite character in the film because she is a clone as well as she explains to Cameron Turner and you can tell that she really cares about him how she wants him to be brave and accept the procedure of his memories being transferred into another clone of him named Jack and to tell him his family what is going on with him. The scenes with Kate Are incredible especially the scene of her and Cameron just walking the woods and she explains and that she's a clone and it's probably one of the most beautiful ans one of the most Saddest moments of the entire film because she never got to see her daughter because she wasn't in her original body she was a clone. Also the scene where she first meets Cameron for the first time was also a really heartwarming and really fun moment and the bonding between Kate and Cameron is the strongest aspect of the film. The chemistry between her and Mahershala Ali Is brilliant.
But the best thing about this entire film is the directing by Benjamin Clary because he does a stellar job of developing the character Cameron Turner and making you feel bad for him because this is the guy who is struggling he is suffering through terminal illness he doesn't want his his wife to figure out that he is dying he wants to prove that he can still go on and he doesn't want to his number is to be transferred into his younger clone and I think he did a Stellar job of developing this character. I also like how he develops the character of Poppy Turner because she is the character that also you feel bad for because she doesn't want her husband to die she keeps telling Him that everything could be okay. That's how incredible he did of developing these characters. I also like how he talks about the subject of what it's like to big bee diagnosed with a caramel illness and it could be really scary because you don't know how people would react to you at and You want them to be brave when you are open about talking about and I think he did a Stellar job with that by taking the subject super seriously and I think he did a remarkable job of directing this film.
So in conclusion i still really love this film because of the emotional storyline it has revolve around Cameron Turner suffering through this terminal illness and he doesn't want have mined to be transferred into a clone of him and wants to stay with his family but he eventually has to accept the fact that he's not going to live on forever and it's probably one of the most emotional storylines of 2021. But the best thing about this movie is the cast because all of them give really powerful and captivating performance is but the truth stand out is Mahershala Ali who does a brilliant job as Cameron Turner And his younger clone Jack he did give the really sweet and really emotional performance as both character because every line that comes out of this character you really believe it that's how tremendous his performance is in this film. Also Glen Close is really good at the scientist Dr Scott she also gives a really fun and beautiful performance. Also it's probably the way my favorite performance in this film is Awkwafina who gives probably one of the most dramatic performances of her entire career as Kate because it does show that she is a tremendous actress and it shows that she can not only be fight but also really emotional as well. Also the character of Kate is my favorite character how she really wants to help Cameron Turner By having him tell his family about what he's going through and the moment that they have together are really incredible in particularly where they're walking into the woods and she talks to him about her backstory about her being a clone that was the saddest moments of the film. Also the bonding between her and Cameron Turner is terrific. Also Naomi Harris that a wonderful job at the character of poppy turner and she probably get the most emotional performance in the film because her character is really interesting because Poppy doesn't want to learn the realization that her husband might die and not come back. I often like how this film discusses the subject of would like to have a toenail illness and having to tell people that you care about that you're not going to live for very long and I think a lot of people can't wait to this film and turn the victims and Rama because there are people who do get really scared when they find out they're dealing with terminal illness and they don't want to scare anyone out of fear of not being with the people that they care about because they are really sick. I highly recommend you watch this film especially if you like really powerful and emotional drama films like Moonlight from 2016 or Green Book from 2018 which both star Mahershala Ali. Then I'm sure you're going to like this one as well. I give this movie a 10/10.
