Here is My Movie Review of A Man Called Otto

So basically what happens is that you have this guy named Otto Anderson who lives in Pennsylvania and he is not really nice he treats everyone in the neighborhood like garbage he judges people he Is really depressed but then he starts to lighten up and have fun and it's up to him to get over the lost of his life and start a new life and that is basically what the story is for this movie. The way you sum up the story is like spirited but if spirited was not musical.

The acting in this movie is terrific. I think everyone gives that they're all. As I can tell everyone is having fun as their characters. 

However the absolute standout of the entire film is Tom Hanks as Otto Anderson.  Now at the start Otto Anderson is not really nice, he treats everyone around him like garbage. He doesn't like people parking on his property. Now there is a reason why he is  like that and that is because of the death of his wife Sonya. Probably the darkest scene is when he is so depressed that he wants to hang himself because He misses his wife Sonya. It is probably the  most depressing moment in the film. But probably the funniest moment is when he finds this cat and at first he doesn't like it because he doesn't want to have it. Not only was it funny but it made sense because he was so depressed he just wanted to be left alone. The chemistry between him and Mariana Trevino, Mack Bayda, and Cameron Britton  Is fantastic. 

Mariana Trevino plays Marisol In the film. I have to say she does a terrific job as the character. What makes Marisol such a wonderful character is that She basically wants to help Otto let go of his past and start a brand new life. Probably the most emotional moment is when she and Otto get into an argument where he says he doesn't want to let go of the past because Sonya, was the only girl he ever cared about, he truly loved her. It is the most powerful scene in the film. The chemistry between her and Tom Hanks is outstanding. 

Mack Bayda plays Malcolm in the film. I have to say he does an amazing job as the character. What makes Malcolm such an Interesting character is that he really wants to help Otto Anderson become more happy. Find the most emotional moment in the film is when he explains why his dad kicked him out of his house and it is because he is transgender It is probably the saddest scene in the film because in real life people who are transgender get mistreated and mocked just the way that they are and the film handle that really well. Also the bonding between him and Otto Anderson are Brian said the best moments in the film. The chemistry between him and Tom Hanks is awesome. 

Cameron Britton Plays Jimmy in the film. I have says that out of all the performances he was probably my favorite  performance in the entire film. What makes Jimmy such an interesting character is that he is also much like the other character that wants to help Otto Anderson find happiness. I  like how Jimmy is just so happy and really outgoing. He really reminds me of myself because I am also really happy and outgoing. Probably the funniest moment is where he is holding the cat and he tells Otto Anderson to take the cat because he is allergic to it. Not only was it really funny but it made sense because in real life there are people that can be allergic to cats. The chemistry between him and Tom Hanks is really excellent.

The directing by Marc Foster Is tremendous because what I like about his directing is that he does a really great job of tackling the subject of depression. What's really sad is that there are people that are so depressed that they want to kill themselves either because they're just unhappy with their lives or they're missing the love of their life. I like how he took the subject very seriously. I think it is really astounding how he did that. 

So in conclusion I  really enjoyed this movie. I also like the message In the film is that you have to let go of your past and you have to just be open about your feelings and you can't be closed off because eventually you'll have to tell someone how you're feeling. I think the film also did that very emotionally and very strongly. I think this is in my top 10 best movies of 2023. I give this movie a 10/10.
