Here is My Movie Review of Locke
So basically what happens is that you have this guy named Ivan Lock and he's driving in the middle of the night and he finds out that his friend is pregnant and he has to get to the hospital before she gives birth and and he is also threatened to live this job if he doesn't get the form signed because he works at a construction site well going to the hospital to see his friend give birth to a new child but he finds out that he cheered on his current wife so he has to do everything and his power to fix everything that he has done. And best way what the story is for this film and the storyline this movie is really simple because it's just about guy who is trying to give life back on track and he's doing all this while he is driving in his car and you'll think that a concept like that won't be interesting but the film ask the that concept perfectly.
Now the acting in this movie Is tremendous because even though it only stars one actor the actor does a Stellar job of giving one more powerful and one of the more emotional performance is in the entire film. I think this film is up there with the acting in The Farewell as one of the best acted A24 films
However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Tom Hardy as Ivan Locke. Now the character of Ivan Locke is a really incredible and a really sympathetic character because this is a guy that's under a lot stress because he is threatened to lose his job if he doesn't get forms done and bring them back to his boss at the construction site. He is also very concerned about his relationship because she realized that he cheated on his current wife with his friend So he has to do everything is power to fix everything and make his in his life gets better. The scene where Ivan Locke It mentions to his boss that he will get the forms done and he mentioned why he had been doing it it not only really intense scene but it has seen that anyone can relate to it because there are people that need to get stuff done on certain day and it can really leave to some mild stressful situations and it is probably the most relatable moment of the entire film.
The directing by Steven Knight Is magnificent because what I love about his directing is that if you take the really interesting concept of a guy that's talking to people well he is driving his car which you think is really boring But somehow Steven Knight makes it both interesting and relatable because anyone that's in a stressful situation while they're trying to get to a certain place can actually relate to this film and probably monthly relate to Ivan Locke because we all been there we all had moments that stressed us out because we either had to get stuff done or we had to get done on A certain day Because either they have to pay their rent or they have to get some informed done for their jobs so they don't lose their job. I think it is really tremendous of how he did that,
So in conclusion i still really love this film because the storyline is really interesting because it's just about Iven Locke who is just talking to people while he's driving his car in the middle of the night and it is that they really fun and really relatable storyline that anyone can relate to especially the character of Ivan Locke because we all been in situations where we need to get something done and it can cause a lot of stress like paying taxes or paying the rent to the house. Also Tom Hardy gives one of his best performances in his career at the character Ivan Locke. I think this film is up there with Swiss Army Man with Paul Dano as one of my favorite A24 films. I think the film is also up there with Enemy as one of the best films of 2013. I highly recommend you watch this film especially if you like The Lighthouse with Willem Dafoe. I give this movie a 79/10.
I'm glad you liked the movie Lou. I still think this is Tom Hardy's best performance as the character of Ivan Locke. I still think this is one of the best A24 films. I still think that is in my top five favorite A24 films. I still think better than my top five best A24 films
