Here is my movie review of Spider-Man 3.
Now the storyline in this movie is really horribly structured because it's a mess because you have pier Parker / Spider-Man in Mary Jane having relationship problems you have hairy wine revenge on Spider-Man you have the stuff with Sandman trying to cure his daughter you have Eddie Brock wanting revenge on Spider-Man and turned into Venom then you have the butler Bernard telling Harry that the glider killed his dad. Then Spider-Man in Harry Osborne have to team up to take down Sandman and Venom. That is basically what happens that is the storyline and what a mess it is because the movie Can't really focus on anything it goes back and forth you have stuff with hairy and stuff with Sammy it's just a big mess and they will you all about Captain America Brave New World at least that movie had it easy storyline to follow. And unlike this film brand new world is actually entertaining.
Now the acting is really bad because it just feels like they're just not even trying anymore There are some good performances here in there but from the most part it's pretty terrible.
Tobey Maguire comes back as Peter Parker/Spider-Man In the film.I have to say he does try his best with the poor writing there are moments where he does give a good performance but once he gets that symbiote his performance goes over the top and becomes really weird, Now the character appear Parker / Spider-Man is really inconsistent because he starts out really nice but once he gets the venom symbiote he just becomes just an asshole and it's not like Starlord from Guardian of the Galaxy where he an asshole because He thinks he knows what he's doing he He is in over his head and that's what makes it funny and he eventually matures as the Guardians of the Galaxy films go on. But in this they make Peter Parker / Spider-Man into an asshole who is very narcissistic just treats people like garbage and that's his character for the majority of the movie. Probably the most infamous scene in this entire film is the Jazz Club scene This scene is so cringe worthy and I'll say this it's even more cringe-worthy than MO.D.O.K´s death in Ant-Man and The Wasp Quantum Mania because at least with that scene it was really funny and it was kind of emotional but with this it is so dumb and so ridiculous that you're like why would you put this in a Spider-Man film.
Kirsten Dunst comes back as Mary Jane In this film. I have to say she was really awful in the film It just felt like she was just there to be get a simple paycheck. Now the character of Mary Jane is really bad because all she is is just the woman trusts for Peter Parker / Spider-Man and it's one of those when they or won't they relationships she leaves them and then she comes back for him and so annoying and stupid. I'll say this At least in the Ant-Man movies they never did that with Hope Van Dyne and Scott Lang they actually cared for one another now yes in the first film she didn't really like him but as the movie went on to start to appreciate him more and then they started to become boyfriend girlfriend in the sequels. Play the worst scene with Mary Jane is what she says to Peter Parker / Spider-Man there's someone else I love it so stupid It felt like a a soap opera that's how stupid that moment Because she comes off as a little bitch throughout the whole movie to the point that you're like you have major problems you have so many issues and then you get all pissed that Spider-Man kissed another girl she stays mad at him and then it's like you're thinking why doesn't Purple Man AKA Kilgrave tell you to jump out the fucking window and break her neck.
J.K. Simmons comes back as Jay Jonah Jameson In the film. I have to say even in parts where this movie is really awful J.K. Simmons is still very entertaining as the character you can tell he still likes playing this character you can tell he starts having a lot of fun in the role.
James Franco comes back as Harry Osborn In the film. I have to say she was terrible in the film he was way too over the top He was hamming it up for no reason. The character of Harry Osborn / the new Goblin was really terrible First of all why would you call him the new goblin that is just really lazy second of all the part where he loses his memory is so cringe worthy and so weird that much like the Jazz Club seen you're like why would you put this as Spider-Man movie and also if you take out Harry Osborn in this movie the movie would have been better without him and then maybe It have more room for the salmon stuff. Probably the dumbest thing is where he and Mary Jane are dancing the kitchen and just reminds me of Seen in She Hulk where she and her friend are twerking in the kitchen and it's played for laughs that so dumb and cheesy That's how bad That thing was in the film. The chemistry between ham and Toby Maguire is fine.
William Dafoe comes as Green Goblin In the film. I have to say even though Is only in the film for 5 minutes he still killed it as the character he's very manipulative and very entertaining the role and I'll say that even in a really horrible movie like this Willem Dafoe somehow is the best part of any bad movie.
Thomas Haden Church as Flint Marko Sandman I still think he does a tremendous job as this character. I still think he is really intimidating. If you think about it, you can feel sympathy for him because all he wants to do is to make his daughter better. I still think he should have been the main villain. I still think the CGI effects on Sadman are still perfect. Aside from making him the killer of Uncle Ben. But other than that he is still perfect. He also looks exactly like the character from the comics. To be honest all the scenes with Sandman are the only seems I like especially when he emerges from the fan is trying to grab his locket and he's having trouble and it was a sad moments of the entire film and it makes you think why can't Sandman be the main villain I think that one made the movie a lot better Because if they just took out new Goblin and Venom and just have Sandman at the villain of the film. then this movie would have been so messy Fun fact actors are like Mel Gibson, Nicolas Cage, Nathan Lane, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tom Hanks, Albert Brooks, Alec Baldwin, Viggo Mortensen, Gary Oldman, Max Von Sydow, Stephen Lang, Christopher Plummer, Bruce Willis, Willem Dafoe, Jack Nicholson, Robert De Niro, Hugh Jackman, Edward Norton, Harry Sharer, Joe Mantegna, Michael Biehn, Liam Neeson, Matthew McConaughey, Christoph Waltz, Ron Perlman, Tomas Jane, Hulk Hogan, Christopher Meloni, and Tom Hardy were all considered to play Sandman.
However the worst performance of the entire film Topher Grace as Eddie Brock/Venom Because he is Miss cast he's not the right fit for the character he is too scrawny for Venom you need someone jacked like Hugh Jackman or Ron Perlman someone like that who can show Intimidating and Scary Venom is But then do that they just made the character into a big loser. Speaking of that the character of Venom is nothing he'll the shoehorn in here as an afterthought and Sam Rami hates Venom but yet the studio forced him to put him in the film you know what the really dumb thing is When me and Shelby were playing Lego Marvel Superheroes and the TV went out and I thought the TV was broken and then Venom Jumped at the screen and made us jump and dumb when a children's Lego game managed to make Venom more scary than this movie that mean that this movie failed big time with Venom. I will say the scene where Eddie Brock turned into Venom that seemed still good it's still creepy it's really scary but after that he's just regular regular Eddie Brock floating on a CGI body so even when they ball come up it's still not that big. This is Venom is one of the worst movie to comic book adaptations ever but luckily they did fix him in the Venom movies with Tom Hardy.
the directing by Sam Raimi I don't necessarily blame him I mostly blame the studio for the movie because the studio wanted Sam Raimi Venom but he didn't want to use him because he wasn't a fan of the character because originally he wanted to have Ben Kingsley play the Vulture as the secondary villain and Thomas Haden Church as Flint Marko/Sandman as the main villain In the original concept for Spider-Man 3 But due to studio interference they forced him to use Venom anyway. By the way We actually could have had the original version of Spider-Man 3. If I did a review on the original Spider-Man 3 I would have given the movie a 10/10 If we got that one but instead we get a Spider-Man movie that Is it big disappointment.
So in conclusion i don't think this film is that bad as the movie on it's okay. But is a Spider-Man film It is really bad because it's just a mess there's way too many story lines half of it doesn't make sense like Harry Osborne losing his memory or the stuff with Peter Parker and Mary Jane the relationship which is just a bunch of garbage because all they do is argue throughout this whole movie. I did what they should done it just made Sam and the villain and that's it that one made the movie a lot better and they could have made Vulture the secondary villain that way the movie would be less messy. Now the only thing I actually liked was everything that had to do with Sandman because his story arc was the least messy and his motivations made sense really the only problem I do have with Sandman in this movie is making him the killer of Uncle Ben and that was really stupid it was kind of similar to the way Batman made the Joker the killer of Bruce Wayne's parents which was just really dumb and really weird. But aside from that I think Joker and Sandman or comic book accurate because they got a lot of things right. Aside from that I don't really care about anything else in this film because then nothing interesting that happened throughout the film because you either get Peter Parker acting like a jackass or Mary Jane acting like a snobby bitch and neither is fun to watch. I will say some of the performances are not too bad like I do enjoy Thomas Haden Church as Sandman. Also J.K. Simmons is really fun to watch as J. Jonah Jameson. Also Willdem Dafoe is still great as the Green Goblin despite him only being one scene to foe still gives it his all. But aside from those performances most of the acting is pretty bad but that's because of the bad script I don't really blame all the actors except for the actor who played Venom he was really bad and Miss cast. Also I will say the effects for Sandman and Venom In terms of the eyes and the teeth actually still hold it up they're really good. Now I will say though the acting is nowhere near as bad as the acting in Kraven The Hunter because that movie has horrible acting the entire film. Also the humor in this movie is not funny because it is really stupid and really cringe worthy especially that stupid Jazz club scene and I'm going to say this if it be Back to the Future Part III is really Over the top with it´s jokes. But this movie is worst because Even though Back to The Future Part III is over the top it is at least it was funny. I can laugh at the part where Marty McFly is in the bar he said to the other people that are in there that Buford Tannen is an asshole and it's funny because the Back of the Future movies are supposed to be funny and over the top. But with this movie there's nothing funny Aside from a couple moments with J Joma Jameson. Most of the jokes were really stupid and to be honest even though Thor Love and Thunder is over the top. At least there were moments I found funny in the film and there moments that you can take the film seriously. But with this you can't really take anything safely because everything is played up as a dumb comedy. I think this movie is up there with Avengers Age of Ultron in terms of having the worst humor in any comic book film. Also this movie is over 2 hours and it's really boring because everything that doesn't have to do with Sandman it's just so boring not much happens it's all just boring Exposition and more dumb stuff that's not funny. I say skip this movie go watch Spider-Man no way home because I had the much easier storyline and the performance of their a lot different or you know what go watch the Back to The Future movies at least with those films they are funny and they go by really fast. This film does not because of how dumb it is. This is definitely in my top three worst comic book films of all time. I give this film a 4/10.
