Here is My Movie Review of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Here is My Movie Review of Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings.

So basically what happens is that It tells the story of Xu Wenwu of how he formed the evil organization the Ten Rings and he decides to go to this place called Ta Lo where he means his soon to be wife Ying Li. Then we see in present-day Shang Chi going to work with his best friend Katy as a valet Parker. Then Shang Chi and Katy go to this martial arts tournament to see his sister Xialing who tells them dad never came back for them. But then they get ambushed by the Ten Rings. But then Xu Wenwu shows up and tells Shang Chi That they have to go to Ta Lo because he says that he thinks he can bring his wife back and they can be a family. But when they get there and when he opens the gate he actually releases this monster called The Dweller in darkness so it's up to Shang Chi To take down his dad Xu Wenwu The Dweller in Darkness and that is basically what the story is for this film.

The acting is In this movie is remarkable I still think everyone does an excellent job as that characters.

Now for this being Simu Liu ´ s Very first movie he has ever done. I have to say he still does a fantastic job as Shang Chi. What makes Shang Chi such a remarkable character is that He really wants to help his dad bring back his mother but he doesn't want to be like him and fall in his footsteps and become a killer. Probably the best moment with Shang Chi is the when tells Katy about his orange and story of how he became the most skilled martial artist because not only was it really emotional but it made sense because Xu Weneu Wanted him to fall in his footsteps and becoming one of the members of his evil organization the Ten Rings Is it probably the most powerful moment in the entire film. The chemistry between him and Tony Leung, Awkwafina, Ben Kingsley, Meng’er Zhang, and Florian Munteanu Is still terrific. Fun fact actors like Liviu Covalshi, Edward Zo, Karl Ting, Lewis Tan, Steven Yeun, Mike Moh, Alex Landi, Ross Butler, and Ludi Lin were We're all considered to play Shang-Chi.

Awkwafina plays Shang Chi´s best friend Katy in the film. I have to say she still does an awesome job as the character. Now a lot of people say that Katy is really annoying in the film. But to be honest. I 100% disagree with that statement because I actually really enjoy her as a character there are times where she is funny and there were times that she is really serious and you can tell that she really cares about her friend Shang Chi and wants to help him take down his father and save all of Ta Lo. Probably the best scene with Katie is where she and Sunshine are on top of the building and he tells her to come with him and then she looks down and says oh hell no screw you I'm not doing this. Not only was it really funny but it made sense because she didn't want to jump off the roof but she had to in order to survive. The chemistry between her and Simu Liu Is still amazing.

Florian Munteanu plays Wenwu´s henchmen Razor Fist In the film. Now he's not in the film as much but for what he has he is a interesting character he wants to help when will bring back his wife so he and his son Shang Chi and his sister Xialing can be reunited as a family again. Probably the best scene with razor fist is what he first meets on the bus and he fights him and tell them that he needs pendent to give to Weneu so they can meet up and go to Ta La to bring back his wife so They can be a family again. Not only was it a great action sequence but it made sense because he needed to take Shang Chi straight to his dad so they can talk and discuss plans to become a family again.

Ben Kingsley comes back as Trevor Slattery from Iron Man 3. I have to say he still does a great job as the character now in Iron Man 3 he was kind of one of the villains. But in this film he's more of a supporting character. Now what makes Trevor Slattery such a great character in that he really wants to help Shang Chi and Katy get to Ta Lo To stop Weneu from releasing to the Dweller and Darkness. Probably my favorite part with Trevor Slattery is where he mention to Shang Chi and Katy of why he became an actor because when he was watching the original Plant on the apes of films he thought they apes were acting in the film and not only was it really funny but it makes sense because that was the whole reason of why he wanted to become an actor in the first place. It's probably one of the funniest moments in the film. The chemistry between him and Simu Liu Is still fantastic.

Meng’er Zhang plays Shang Chi´s sister Xialing In the film. I have to say she still does an excellent job as the character. What makes Xialing Such an interesting character is that she really wants to help her brother Shang Chi prevent their dad from releasing the dweller in darkness from attacking and destroying To La. Probably the best moment with Xialing Is where she mentions to Katy her brother Shang Chi that their dad needs their help to bring back their mother and not only was it really intense but it made sense because he wanted them to be a family again. Is it probably the most emotional moment in the film. The chemistry between her and Simu Liu Is still astonishing.

However the absolute big standout of this entire film is Tony Leung as  Xu Wenwu. What makes Xu Wenwu such a tremendous villain is that you really feel bad for him because he had to watch his wife be killed by the iron gang right in front of him. Also you can understand why he hates his son Shang Chi with a burning passion because he did nothing to prevent his mother from being killed right in front of him. probably best moment with Xu Wenwu is where he confronts the iron gang at a bar and killed them and not only was it really dark but it made sense because he wants to take all his vengeance out on the people who were responsible for her death. I also like his motivation how he wanted his son to follow in the footsteps of him and become a killer and being a member of the Ten Rings and once to find a way to bring back his wife by going to To La and break the gate so he can see her again. I still think Xu Wenwu is up there with Gore the God Butcher as one the most tragic villains of phase 4 because both of them lost their loved ones because in Thor Love and thunder Gore lost his daughter and in this movie Xu Weneu had to watch the Iron Gang beat his wife to death right in front of him so you just feel sorry for both of them and while they're actions are terrible you can understand why they do the bad things that they do because they both want to bring back their loved ones. the rivalry between him and Shang Chi is astonishing. The chemistry between him and Simu Liu Is marvelous. Fun fact actor Donnie Yen was considered to play Xu Wenwu.

The directing by Destin Daniel Cretton is remarkable because what I like about his directing and that he does a great job of developing the character of Shang Chi giving him a tragic and beautiful backstory of him watching his mother to be killed by the iron gang and having him being conflicted like that he wants to join his father or did he want to be good and I think really awesome of how he did that.

So in conclusion I still really enjoy this film. I love how this movie is dark but also really funny in some parts because there are some really powerful moments like Shang Chi tells and his father Xu Wenwu that his wife is not behind the gate. Also the bonding between Shang-chi and Xu Wenwu is probably the most tragic and beautiful thing about the film. This is probably up there with Black Panther Wakanda forever as one of my favorite phase 4 movies in the MCU. Xu Wenwu is still in my top 5 favorite MCU villains. I just love his motivations and his whole tragic backstory between him and his wife. This is still in my top five favorite movies of 2021. Also I still think Katy is probably up there with the likes of Luis from the Ant-Man movies as one of the funniest MCU characters. I think if you enjoyed Captain America Civil War with Chris Evans then you're definitely going to love this film I give this movie a 10/10.
