Here is my TV Show Review of Marvel Zombies Season 1

Here is my TV Show Review of Marvel Zombies season 1

Now in this show was announced I was beyond exciting because I really enjoyed Marvel's what if and I loved that animation style that they used that self-shaded style of animation and the other thing that got me excited for was the cast which included Iman Vellani, Simu Liu, Paul Rudd, Awkwafina, and of course Elizabeth Olsen. So I re-watched the show and I have to say it still holds up and something I really like about this show is that it has some funny moments. It is mostly a drama show with depressing and downright brutal moments throughout the show.

Now let's talk about the story. The storyline of this show is pretty messed up because it takes place after what if zombies from Marvel's what if because we focus on Kamala Khan/Miss Marvel and she is spending time with her friends Kate Bishop and Riri Williams. But unfortunately they get attacked by zombies and Kamala loses her friends so she is devastated until she meets this guy named Blade who tells her Avoid being killed in the zombie apocalypse and she has to team up with the group called The Resistance which includes Shang Chi Katy,Jimmy Woo, Death Dealer Along with the others and take down the Scarlet Witch AKA The Red Queen who wants to turn everyone in the zombies it's up to Miss Marvel to survive the zombie apocalypse and that's basically what the story is for this show. I have to say the storyline is really incredible and I think It is better than the storyline in Marvel's The Inhumans because even though I do like that show I think this show had a much better storyline than that show had.

But we of course have to talk about the amazing thing in the show which of the course the voice actor because all these actors do such a stellar job as these character they all give heart emotion and some of them even give the characters some jokes but they don't ruin a dramatic moment with a dumb MCU joke like how Avengers Age of Ultron did.

But we of course have to talk about the amazing stellar performance which is of course from Iman Vellani who comes back to voice Kamala Khan/Miss Marvel. Now I really liked her in the Marvels but I have to say this is probably her best performance she's ever given as this character in this show because she gives such a beautiful and captivating and downright tragic and beautiful performance as this character. Also you can tell that she is having a lot of fun as this character. Now Kamala Khan/Miss Marvel Is probably my favorite character in this so because she is the emotional core of the show because she experiences a lot of trauma in the show she she watches her friends die she watches a lot of her teammates die by the hands of the zombies and you can tell that whenever someone gets scared she always cares for her team and you really feel bad for her because she lost all her friends. The scenes with Kamala Khan/Miss Marvel are probably some of the best moments in the show because it's not The scene where she cracks a couple jokes don't get me wrong she still has a couple funny jokes in this show that makes me laugh but the moments I like it's actually all the emotional scenes in fact my favorite scene is where she tragically watches Yelena dying and it's one of the most brutal moments of the entire show or her begging Wanda not to kill her friends that was also a very tragic moment and again they don't ruin it with a dumb joke they keep the moment tragic and let it play out. The chemistry between her and Todd Williamson, Kari Wahlgren, Florence Pugh, David Harbor, Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Randall Park, Rama Vallury, Hudson Thomas, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen  is incredible.

But let's talk about Thodd Williams who voices Blade in this show. He was tremendous. He gave one of the most badass and one of the most powerful performances of the entire show and you could tell that he is having a lot of fun as this character. Now the character of Blade is exactly what he is in the comics: he is a vampire hunter. I like how they kind of make him this show's variation of Moon Knight because Khonshu picked him and he also wants to protect Kamala Khan/Miss Marvel and her friends. Now there are so many moments with blade that i like whether it is him telling Kamala Khan/Miss Marvel that she has to survive with him in the zombie outbreak and she can't see her friends anymore or him fighting all the zombies and killing Ava cutting her up into bloody chunks or him showing the rest of the recruits KhonshuWhich is of course his avatar and spirit it didn't lead to some really intense and some really emotional moments throughout the show. The chemistry between him and Iman Vellani is perfect.

Now Florence Pugh comes back to voice Yelena In the show. Now it comes to her performance in the MCU. I didn't really like her in Black Widow. She wasn't terrible. I just found her performance forgettable. But in Thunderbolts she actually gave one of the most emotional performances of that entire film and with this show that is no different because she probably gives her best performance as this character because you get one of the saddest performances of the entire show and it works perfectly. Now Yeena is the character you really feel bad for in the show because she has to survive alone in the zombie apocalypse with her dad red Guardian and she is scared that she will lose all of her new friends that she  meets. Now the scenes with Yelena are probably some of the saddest moments in the show especially the part where she sacrifices herself and tell the red guardian that everything could be okay and he breaks down crying and it's really hard to watch because this is essentially her father watching his own daughter be killed by the zombies and  kind of reminded me of when Mike had to watch Eleven die during the final episode of Stranger Things because both Red Guardian and Mike had to learn to let go of the people that they cared about. It's one of the most brutal sequences to watch of the entire show. The chemistry between her and Iman Vellani  is magnificent.

Now in the MCU Milena was played by Rachel Weisz. But in this show she's voiced by  Kari Wahlgren and she did a terrific job as Melana because she actually does sound like a Rachel Weisz because she did a pretty solid job of imitating her voice. Now Molina as the character Is probably better than she was in Black Widow because in Black Widow I just found her very forgettable but in this show they did a much better job of developing her because you really feel bad for because she has to survive the zombie apocalypse With her daughter Yelena and her husband Red Guardian and  they she has to team up with Miss Marvel and her friends to survive the outbreak. The scenes with Molina are really sad whether it is her watching the zombies attack her friends or her saying goodbye to her daughter by sacrificing herself and she can just save the others and Yelena just begging her not to kill herself and wanting her to stay and it's one of the brutal moments of the entire show. The chemistry between her and Iman Vellani is exquisite.

David Harbor comes back to voice red Guardian and he was the best part of Black Widow And he was also magnificent and Thunderbolts* and in this show he probably gives one of his best performances and this character gives one of the most powerful one of the most heart-wrenching performances as this character. Now Red Guardian out of the character is incredible because well he is really funny he really cares about Kamala KhanMiss Marvel and her friends and he really wants to protect them from the zombie outbreak and prevent them from being killed by a zombie and there are so many memorable moments whether it's him begging his daughter Yelena not to die or him finding Captain America who is a zombie and get kicked in the nuts and he finally kill him and then Milena tell him not to make a song about it. Also the scene of him refusing to help Miss Marvel because he had to watch his daughter be brutally killed by the zombies and she  conference him  telling him that you can do anything we need you it's one of the most powerful moments of the entire show. The chemistry between him and Iman Vellani is really outstanding.

Now Simu Liu I have always liked in the MCU as Shang Chi I liked him in Marvel's What If. I liked him in the movie Shanghai and the legend of the Ten Rings and he comes back to voice Shang-Chi in this show. He is still really fun as this character. You can tell that he gives one the most powerful and one the most emotional performances as this character. Now the character of Shang-Chi is still amazing. You know he is still a badass and in this show he wants to help Kamala Khan/Miss Marvel and her friends survive the zombie apocalypse. The scenes with shang-chi are really incredible whether it is him and Katie trying to outrun the zombies or him watching his father Xu Wenwu sacrificing himself and giving his son the 10 rings and Shang Chi breaks down begging his  dad not to go into the zombie hard and it's probably one of the most brutal sequences of the entire show. Also the scene where he meets Kamala Khan/Miss Marvel Was also a really heartwarming and really emotional scene in this show. But my favorite moment with Shang-Chi is when he learns that Kamala Khan/Miss Marvel is doubting herself. She does not believe that she can protect everyone from the zombie apocalypse and he gives her this really good speech about never giving up and never fight alone, always fighting for the people you care about. It's one of the most beautiful moments of the entire show. The chemistry between him and  Iman Vellani is excellent.

Now it comes to Awkwafina in the MCU a lot of people really hate her as Katy because they think she's really annoying but to be completely honest I never really hated her and Shang-Chi I always found her really funny and really entertaining and in this show that's no different she gives probably one of the most emotional performances as Katy But it also still really funny as this character. Now the character of Katy It's still relatively the same. She is still funny but she also really wants to help Kamala Khan/Miss Marvel and her friends to survive the zombie outbreak. The scenes with Katy are really incredible especially the scene where she sees San Francisco being destroyed by the zombies and her mother being presumed dead and she breaks down crying and it's probably one of the most brutal moments to watch of the entire show. But there's also a lot of funny moments as well with Katy like when she reacts to Zemo throwing up and she refuses to clean it up because she just got her rings cleaned from all the previous zombie fights. Or her and Shang Chi singing well getting chased by zombies in the desert. It does lead to some really funny and some really entertaining moments in the show. The chemistry between her and Iman Vellani is terrific.

Now when comes Randall Park In the MCU. I always liked him as Jimmy Woo. I like them in Ant-Man And The Wasp, Wandavision. Now him coming back to voice Jimmy Woo in this show was really interesting because I was looking forward to seeing him again in another MCU show and he still does a glorious job with his performance event he probably gives the funniest performance in this show because you can tell that he is having a lot of fun as this character. Now the character of Jimmy Woo he still is relatively the same he likes to do card tricks and he really wants to help Kamala Khan/Miss Marvel and her friends to survive the zombie outbreak. The themes with Jimmy Wu are probably some of my favorite moments In the show because the scene of him fighting zombies with Khan/Miss Marvel Is probably one of the best action sequences of the entire show and one of my favorite moments is the running joke of Jimmy Woo trying to get Death Dealer to talk to him and what makes it funny that every time Jimmy tried to tell him something Death Dealer does not respond because he is a silent character. Also the fiend where Jimmy Woo gets brutally killed by zombies when they are in Asgard it's probably one of the scariest moments in the show because he's like screaming he's telling the zombies not to eat him and he gets ripped to shreds. It is probably one of the most graphic moments of the entire show. I mean that's not saying much because this whole shell gets really bloody. The chemistry between him and Iman Vellani  is awesome.

Now when it comes to Baron Helmet Zemo in the MCU he was played by Daniel Bruhl And he did a terrific job playing the character. Now in this show Baron Helmet Zimo is voiced by Rama Vallury and he does a terrific job as this character because he does sound like Daniel Bruhl. Now the character of Helmet Baron Zemo exactly how he is in Captain America Civil War he is a scumbag and just a rotten piece of shit that you just love to hate because at first when your first year to do is to Baron Zemo he seems like he's with our main characters you know he wanted to help them kill all the zombies. But it turned out he'll just using them so they can all die he can save himself because he's a self-centered Nazi asshole. To be honest I didn't really care for him when he died Buy a zombie ripping his heart out and killing him. I didn't feel bad for this asshole because with the other characters like Yelena and Xu Wenwu. I did feel bad for them. But with Zemo you can't trust him because he is Hydra he is a Nazi. So when he died. I was like goodbye you disgusting piece of shit. The scenes with Barron Helmet Zemo Are incredible like the scene where he meets  Kamala Khan/Miss Marvel and her friends for the first time and telling them that he is going to protect them. But the scene where he outright betrays them by ringing the dinner bell to lower the zombies to the surface world to kill  everyone on the ship. Or the scene where he says when he gets to Asgard i'm surrounded by idiots. Now It does lead to some really intense and some really funny moments in the show. The chemistry between him and Iman Vellani is marvelous.

Now when it  comes to Paul Rudd  i always loved him in the MCU as Scott Lang ever since the first Ant-Man film All the way up to Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantum Mania. I also liked how he came back to do the voice of Scott Lang in Marvel's what if…?. Now Paul Rudd Comes back to do the voice of Scott Lang and even though He doesn't play a big role in the show but for what he does have Paul Rudd still gives a tremendous performance as Scott Lang. Now the character of Scott Lang is relatively the same he really want to help Kamala Khan/Miss Marvel and her friends survive the zombie apocalypse. The scenes with Scott Lang Are really entertaining especially the part where Kamala Khan/Miss Marvel sees Scott Lang for the first time he's just a head is in a jar and she freaks out and he says like yeah I get that a lot. Or the scene of him and the rest of the team rushing in and trying to kill Wanda AKA The Red Queen and the rest of the zombies and the way Scott dies is really brutal the zombies crack the the glass that Scott was in and that's how he dies, and it does lead to some really entertaining and some really heart pounding moments throughout the show. The chemistry between him and Iman Vellani Is perfect.

Now when it comes to Elizabeth Olsen I always loved her in the MCU as Wanda Maximoff and even in Avengers age of Ultron a movie that's so messy and such a disappointment she was never the problem with that movie she's the best part of the entire film And her performance always got better with each MCU installment all the way up to doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Now Elizabeth Olsen comes back to voice Wanda in the show AKA The Red Queen  because her performance it's probably won the most horrifying performances of the entire show And you can just tell that Elizabeth Olsen Is having a lot of fun and this is probably the most horrifying Performance she has ever given as Wanda Maximoff. Now the character of Wanda Maximoff / The Red Queen is downright horrifying because she leaves a huge body count in the show because she will slaughter anyone who gets in her way and even when she kills someone you're like oh she's not going to do it again but no she does it even more and she finds  new ways to kill these Heroes and you're like why you're doing all this messed up stuff and you're like what the fuck. The scenes with Wanda Maximoff are probably the most horrifying and probably some of the most what the fuck moments in this entire show especially her introduction scene where she is completely fine she and then her human form and she's saying that she's cured. But then her skin peeled off and she turned into her lawn before him and starts killing off most of the people in Asgard and it is just so horrifying to watch and that scene where she tells Kamala Khan/Miss Marvel that she can get her back to her own world and it's pretty scary just the way Wanda manipulates her and it definitely to some really horrifying and some really what the fuck moments in the show. The chemistry between her and Iman Vellani Is tremendous.

However the best thing about this so in the directing by Brian Andrews because look I loved his directing on what if I thought he did a tremendous job directing that show. I think he directs this show better because well what if has some drama it has a lot of jokes that are really funny. But with this show he managed it to make this really fucked up and really sad because even though there are MCU jokes Woods are really funny. it actually drifts away from that and focuses on the emotional core and that is of course Kamala Khan/Miss. Marvel and her group of friends trying to survive the zombie apocalypse because she lost everything her two friends were brutally killed by the zombies she was all alone until she met Blade Knight and he told her that she has to survive the apocalypse by finding the resistance and teaming up with them and start to bond with all of the friends that she has made And there are so many moments where the character is broken whether it is her watching Yelena get brutally killed by the zombies On the ship or watching One of her friends being brutally killed by Wanda maximoff. You just feel so bad for this character because every time she meets a new friend one of them get bored away killed by the zombies.  But something else I really like is that he does not hold back with the darkness and the violence because every time this show killed off a character you're like what the fuck they're not going to do that again and they do there's so many people that die in this show weather game brutally math occurred by Zombies and being turned into them Or them attacking an entire ship underwater. I think he did a magnificent job directing this show.

So in Conclusion I still really love this show especially the storyline having it revolve around Kamala Khan/Miss Marvel losing her friends and teaming up with boy night in the resistance to take down all the zombies and survive the apocalypse is a really amazing storylines probably one of the darkest storylines that the MCU had never done in the post Endgame. Also the  performances are incredible the biggest standout is honestly from Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Miss Marvel Who probably gives her best performance as this character. Also Paul Rudd even though he's not in the show that much he still does a magnificent job at Scott Lang. Also Awkwafina Is still really funny as Katy much like she was in Shan Chi. But the best performance and one of the scariest performances in the show is from Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/The Red Queen or I guess in this case the red bitch because she's crazy. Also the character of Wanda Maxima/ the Red Queen is the scariest villains in the MCU because she racks up a huge body count in the show and every time you think that Wanda is not going to kill another character. But somehow she manages to outdo yourself by killing some of the heroes and some of the most graphic ways ever and you're like watching her do this anyone like oh my God what the fuck is this. I'll tell you this if  Cassandra Nova went up against this interpretation of the Scarlet Witch AKA Wanda Maximoff the Red Queen Cassandra Nova would die because though Cassandra is powerful Wanda is undead so she can just Ultra skull fuck her and rip her fucking head off Without even thinking. I think Wanda Maximoff AKA the Red Queen is up there with her live action counterpart known as The Scarlet Witch from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as the scariest villains in the MCU. Also out of all the characters  Kamala Khan/Miss Marvel is Is my favorite character of the entire show because she is a very tried to character because she lost both of her friends and she essentially had to survive the zombie apocalypse with her new friends and she reminds me of Brad Pitt´s character Gerry from World War Z  because both of them had to protect people they cared about during a zombie outbreak. I also love how the show did not hold back with With the blood and violence because every time you get attached to a character they get brutally killed by a zombie and it just makes you feel so bad for the character that lost their best friend especially Red Guardian because he go through trauma after trauma in the show and he's one of the most sympathetic characters of this entire show because he lost his wife and daughter. I also still enjoy I also really love the animation how it is self-shaded animation like how it was on what if. I still think this is up there with Loki as one of my favorite MCU shows of all time. I am so looking forward to seeing what they're going to do in season 2 When that comes out. I highly recommend you watch the show especially if you really like Really dark and really graphic Movies and shows like the Last of Us with Pedro Pascal or World War Z with Brad Pitt. Then I'm sure you're going to like this show as well. I give this show a 10/10.
