Here is My Movie Review of Climax

Now this is going to be a really different movie review because I'm going to talk about why I think Climax is not a great film and  explain why it is one of the worst films of 2019. But as well as one of the most boring A24 films. 

Now when it comes to this film a lot of people really enjoy it. But in my opinion I felt like it was way too weird because the storyline was just really bizarre because it revolved around these dancers and they get high off of LSD and a lot of weird stuff happens and that's basically what happens. Now I do respect the film and turms of showing the effects of LSD and the idea of the story's not bad but it's just so not interesting because it's just is boring especially the fact that it takes 40 whole minutes to have these people get high off of LSD the first half is just mostly filler and boring stuff Which is really dumb because this A24 they have given us given us some really awesome and interesting storylines like in Everything Everywhere All At Once Ex Machina, Death Of A Unicorn. Those movies had  incredible storylines. Well this one really doesn't give you anything interesting in terms of a really fun and engaging story. Also the characters in this movie don't really get that much development because they're mostly high on LSD and out of all the A24 films that I have seen this one probably has some of the most throwaway characters of any A24 film. Well the characters like Evelyn Wang and Waymond from Everything Everywhere All At Once are a lot more memorable and a lot more interesting characters than any of the characters in this film. Now the effects when these dancers go on LSD it actually looks really good because you really feel like you are high on LSD when you watch the film. But aside from that there's nothing else that interesting about this film and some of the scenes in this film are so uncomfortable there's a scene where a guy sexually assaults a woman and that was just not fun to watch. It was just really weird. Now I will say the cinematography in this movie, much like in other A24 films, is amazing. Now let's talk about the directing by Gaspar Noe Is not that good because I get what he's trying to do trying to show the effects of LSD. But the way he does it comes off really weird and the way he makes this movie feels more like a music video than actual movie because the dancings go on for way too long to the point that comes off as just filler and padding throughout the film. So overall I think he did a subpar job directing this film. So in conclusion I did not like this film. I thought it was boring because nothing much happens which is really surprising because A24 films are usually really fun and really entertaining to watch. But this one doesn't have much entertainment value In it aside from a couple good visuals with the characters being high there's not many good scenes in the film. I think the storyline was really dumb but in some way it was a good idea in concept having these dancers get high off of LSD and seeing some really messed up stuff. But the execution really failed and just took the square idea and just made it boring. I think this film is up there with Polar as one of the worst films of 2019. I think this film is also up there with Terminal from 2018 with Simon Peg as one of the most boring movies of the 2010s. I said just skip this movie and go watch Everything Everywhere All At Once With Ke Huy Quan because that film had a much better storyline.  It actually has characters that are relatable and actually sympathetic and actually really fun to watch because the film made them memorable. But with this film the characters are nothing, they don't get a character development they are really boring and half of the characters don't even do anything. That is the reason why I think this is a really bad A24 film. So that's why I give this film a 2/10.
