 Why Do I Think Disney Live-Action Remakes Are Garbage Now? 

Now I'm going to discuss why I think Disney live action rem a lot of Remakes are garbage and why are they just blatant cash grabs that just ruin iconic Disney villains and ruin the story of the original films.  

The beginning- Now when it comes to Disney live action remakes I didn't hate all of them. To be honest I enjoyed most of them because I like the Jungle Book 2016, The Lion King movies, Dumbo 2019, The Little Mermaid from 2023. Along with a few others. Now this was mainly because they got most of the characters right while changing a few things But making the movies fun and entertaining. Now the performances were really good, the acting in the Jungle Book 2016 along with the lion King 2019 and Mufasa The Lion King. The performances in those movies were really fun and really entertaining. Whether it was Idris Elba as Shircon or Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, both of the actors did a tremendous job as those characters. Also Melissa McCartney played a really awesome and really perfect Ursula in The Little Mermaid 2023. Also the cinematography in  the live-action remakes were really good especially with him to the Jungle Book and the Lion King both movies have really beautiful and magnificent cinematography. Now you may think I would eventually keep liking The Disney live action  remakes. But unfortunately I did not because I was getting really bored of them. Which leads this to the next thing I want to talk about. 

The Downfall- Now the thing that made me believe that the Disney live action remakes We're getting really boring and just Pointless cash grabs was around 2019 where we got the live-action Aladdin remake. Now this wasn't the film that made me hate live-action remakes. But what made me think, what is the point of remaking an old animated film if you can just go watch the original. Now as a film I think Aladdin 2019 is average. It's not good, it's not bad, it's just bland and boring. But the thing that I hated in that movie was the depiction of Jafar now Jafar in the original Aladdin. He was really scary and very entertaining. But not this Jafar because  In this film he becomes a big whiny spoiled child like Lex Luther and Superman but somehow even worse because Lex Luthor from Superman it's not really nicholas Hoult's Fault that he had to act really weird it was the scrubbed and the writing for his character he did the best he can with the material. But with Jafar the actor that cast for him was Marwen Kansari and he was annoying and really miscast and that was the point where I start to recognize how bad Disney is at casting most of their characters Because with the exception of Shere Khan Ursula Lady Tremaine, Scar, Maleficent. But aside from that most of the Captain choices for these characters are really bad. Now I will say Jude Law is not as bad as Captain Hook. He was the best part of Peter Pan And Wendy. I'll talk about that film as well. But the movie that made me not like Disney live action remakes was the live-action remake of Pinocchio from 2022. It was mainly because the CGI for Pinocchio looked really bad, it looked really weird. Now  rethinking about it. It's not as bad as I thought it was. But it's still a really boring and really dumb remake which I kind of refuse to watch because of the CGI. It was also just the same movie but without all the charm and the magic that made that original film so perfect. Now in 2023 We got two Disney live action remakes which were The little mermaid 2023 and Peter Pan and Wendy. Now the little mermaid 2023 I actually enjoyed. I went to see it in theaters and I thought it was one of the best Disney live-action remakes because it got a lot of stuff right from the original Little Mermaid film. Now I thought Melissa McCartney was really amazing as Ursula  because you can tell that she was having a lot of fun as that character. But as for Peter Pan and Wendy it was really bad mailing because most of the characters were just unlikable especially Wendy because in the original film she was likable but in this one she is really dumb and the words of Dustin from Stranger Things she had the Giants stick up her butt which means that throughout the movie Wendy is just bitching and whining throughout the whole film and that's not what Wendy is in the original film in the original she was caring. Now I will say that the actor who plays Peter Pan does a good job and you can tell he is having the time of his life playing this character. Also Jude Law was  the best thing in this whole film is that he plays Captain Hook really well. In fact I would say that he is the main reason to watch this film. Now I will say from a writing point of view I think he could have been written better because the backstory with him and Peter Pan is really dumb. But I do think the film did a decent job and make you feel bad for Captain Hook when he is talking about how his mother never really came for him I think that's the best moment in the film like Wendy again terrible character but when Captain Hook tells her about his horrible childhood it'll actually some of the best moments of the entire film in fact all of Captain Hook's moments are the best thing of this entire film and he is nowhere near as horribly written as Jafar was in Aladdin 2019. But doesn't change the fact that this remake is still bad but it's more boring. But that wasn't the remake that made me get sick of these Disney live action remakes. The movie that made me hate these remakes was Snow White 2025 oh dear this remake is horrible because the actress who plays Snow White Rachel Zegwar trash in the original Snow White film because she thinks the prince was a stalker. Now that made everyone hater and decide to boycott the film because of her. But she wanted the worst thing about the movie to be the CGI to bring the dwarfs to life. They just looked so ugly because they have that uncanny Valley effect because they were just so hard to look at that it means someone wants to throw up. They also ruined The Evil Queen because much like the far they made her also whiny and knowing and she's played by Gal Gadot and she is horribly miscast and she is horribly written and more than what she just screams at the top of her lungs and the character of the evil queen It's just really bad because they give her a lot more to do in this film they give her a villain song which could have been good If it wasn't Gal Gadot singing because She can't sing because most of it Is done by the computer so they had to auto-tune her voice to get her the sing. Now if the evil queen was played by Charlize Therone she would have been perfect. In fact I think she would have sung better than Gal Gadot. Not to mention that this movie flopped the big one the box office because no one wanted to see it In fact do you want to know how much of a flopped it was because Dream Works made their first live-action remake with How to Train Your Dragon and that movie beat the crap out of Snow White 2025 at the box office because How To Train Your Dragon 2025 did something that Snow White failed to do it respect its fans it made everything accurate to the original film it the even brought back Gerard Butler as Stoick  because he really loved playing his character. Also the CGI was a lot better than any of the CGI and Snow White 2025. Now there are other live action Disney remakes like Tangled which they were supposed to cancel but they brought that back unfortunately and the actress they got for Mother Gothel is so stupid now rather than bring back Donna Murphy like what we all wanted Disney has decided to bring in Scarlett Johansson to play Mother Gothel and that is a really stupid choice because when you look her picture she does not look anything like the character from the movie. 

Now what should Disney do going forward? Well for stars I think they need to stop remaking because there's really no point because all they're doing is They take everything you like about the original  films in making them really bad Because they know heart and emotion put into these remakes they rre just always pieces of garbage that nobody really cares about and judging by the box office returns of these remakes It showed that nobody really cares about these remakes. I think Disney should let DreamWorks or Netflix remake the Animated films because with Netflix They remade The Jungle Book but they called it Mowgli Legend of the Jungle and that one was really good because it would like the Animated film but they made it darker and more like the buck and people praised that film because it had a really dark and awesome storyline it had bare acting and better effects. Also  DreamWorks they remade How to Train  Your Dragon and that one made a lot of money and people liked it because it was accurate to the animated film. I feel like Disney should just leave the remakes to Netflix and dream works because they will do a far far better job of doing it than they will. To be honest they should just go back to making original films instead of making boring and pointless cash grab remakes but knowing how Disney is nowadays I highly doubt that they're going to stop remaking animated films. But to be honest it'll just blow up in their face and they'll lose more money. 

Conclusion- it was really interesting to discuss the downfall of the Disney live action remakes talking about how pointless they are and talking about how I got kind of sick of it a long time ago ever since 2019. It was also  fun to talk about how badly they butchered most of these remakes now again not all of them are bad there are a handful of them that I enjoy. But the newer remakes are just pointless cash grabs that no one cares about anymore. Also really interesting to talk about why I think dream works and Netflix should remake to the animated films instead of Disney because they will do a better job of doing it.
