Here is My Movie Review of Project X

Here is My Movie Review of Project X

So basically what happens is that you have this guy named Thomas Kub and it's about to be his birthday and he is turning 18 years old so he decided to throw a health party with his friends and it starts out really good but unfortunately it gets out of control and he's worried that his parents are going to find out that he threw a party without their permission so he has to do everything in his power to Prevent his house from being destroyed well Proving to his parents that he is old enough to have a party on and down. That is basically what the storyline is for this film. I have to say the storyline in the film is well simple. It's actually really interesting because this is actually being told in a found footage style of filming they are  using a camera for all the scenes in the film.

Now the acting in this movie is still incredible because both of these actors are really unknown. They were really new to acting when this film came out and all of the performances are really terrific and really entertaining.

However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Thomas Mann as Thomas Kub  who gives a really entertaining and captivating performance in this film. Now the character of Thomas Kub is incredible because he wants to have the biggest house party because it's his birthday and he wants to prove that he is responsible enough to take care of himself but he  learns that throwing a big party can cause a lot of consequences. The scene where Thomas Kub Is trying to get all the party guests to leave and he sees the random guy with a flamethrower is not only really funny but it makes sense because the party went out of control. It is probably one of the funniest moments of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Oliver Cooper, Miles Teller, Jonathan Danle Brown Is terrific.

Oliver Cooper plays Costa In the film and his performance is glorious because he does a tremendous job as the character. Now Costa as a character is remarkable because he wants to help Thomas Kub throw the best house party ever. But he also wants to help him to make sure the party does not go out of control. The scene where Costa and him  and J.B to steal this guy's Santa Claus garden gnome is not only really over the top and silly but it makes sense because they needed the garden gnome for the party add the decoration And their reactions to This guy Just yelling at them and chasing them because they stole his garden it Is probably the funniest moment of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Thomas Mann is exquisite.

Miles Teller plays himself in this film. It's really funny because even though  he doesn't have a lot to do in the film, his scenes are really funny and really entertaining because he's essentially playing an exaggerated interpretation of himself because he is an actor in real life. But he is not a college baseball star. The scene where Miles Teller and then the store and he is talking to Thomas Kub About him being an actor comes off really funny and really meta because in real life Miles Teller is an actor. It is probably one of the funniest moments of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Thomas Mann is incredible.

Jonathan Danle Brown plays J.B In the film And his performance is terrific because he does a spectacular job as this character. Now the character of J.B is really entertaining because he really enjoys spending time with Thomas Kub And wants him to have the best 18th birthday party ever. The scene where JB jumps off the roof lands in the Jumpy house is not only really funny but it does make sense because Thomas Kub was trying to talk him out of doing it because there were the police helicopter above their heads but JB decide to do It anyway flips off the police it is probably one the most over the top and really entertaining moments in the entire film. The chemistry between him and Thomas Mann is magnificent.

However the best thing about this movie is the directing by Nima Nouizadeh Is outstanding because what I love about his directing is that he takes a very simple concept that being a house party and puts it in a found The Flintstones which you think will sound really boring and not interesting But somehow he is able to make it both funny and really over the top and entertaining. I also like how he tackled the subject of becoming an adult because when you're around like 18 years old close to your 20s you have to learn about being responsible and being independent. I think it is really tremendous of how he did that.

\

So in conclusion I still really enjoy this film because the storyline revolving around Thomas Kub Throw himself a big house party on his 18th birthday and trying to learn to be independent is a very interesting concept and the film executes that perfectly. I also like how the film is shot entirely and found footage with the characters filming the entire thing on a camera. It is very similar to the movie Spree from 2020 with Joe Carey because both films are in found footage style. Also all the performances are really fun and entertaining. The two stand out performances are from Thomas Mann and Miles Teller because both of them give entertaining and really fun performances. Although there are a lot of memorable moments whether it's the garden gnome scene or the scene of J.B jumping off the roof into the bounce house at the party. To be honest all the moments in this film are really fun and really over the top. I have to say this film is probably up there with Dredd with Karl Urban as one of the most underrated films of 2012. I highly recommend you watch this film especially if you like Chronicle with Michael B Jordan Then I'm sure you're going to like this film as well. I give this movie a 10/10.
