Here is My Movie Review of The Goonies

So basically what happens is that you have the kid named Mikey Who lives in The Goon Docks In Oregon and he finds out that hey and his friends have to go because their town is going to be destroyed and in place of their houses  there there's going to be a country club so Mikey finds a treasure map to one eye Willie's treasure and he convinces his friends to go with him to find it. So Mikey and his friends along with his older brother Brandon decide to go find One-Eyed Willie's treasure to save the town and prevent their houses from being destroyed in place of a country club and that's basically what the story is for this film. I have to say the storyline of this movie was simple. It's actually incredible because it's very similar to Ready Player One where you have this group of friends trying to save something that they really care about because in Ready Player One it was Wade who wanted to protect the Oasis. Well in this film it's Mikey wanting to prevent him and his friends from leaving their homes. 

The acting in this movie is tremendous because all the actors are giving really fun and entertaining performances. This movie also marks the debut of a certain actor that would go on to be in a lot of films.  

However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Sean Astin as Mikey Walsh because he gives one of the most powerful and emotional performances of the entire film. Now the character of Mikey Walsh Is tremendous because he is the leader of the Goonies and he will do anything in his power to find one Eyed Willie's treasure and save their homes from being destroyed. The scene where Mikey Walsh gives this really awesome speech and he says Goonies never say die this is our time. Not only in a really powerful and perfect moment but it makes sense because Mikey Walsh Is telling his friends that they can't give up and they have to try to find one-eyed Willie's treasure so they can keep their homes. It is probably the most Iconic moment of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Josh Brolin, Ke Huy Quan, Jeff Cohen, Corey Felmam, Kerri Green, John Matuszak, Martha Plimpton Is tremendous. 

Corey Felmam plays Mouth In the film. I have to say he still does a terrific job as the character. Now the character of Mouth Is really terrific because he wants to help Mikey Walsh Find one eyed Willie's Treasure so their houses won't be destroyed. He is also shown that he can speak Spanish. The scene where Mouth translates what the babysitter is trying to say is really funny because she thinks he's talking about cleaning in the house but is actually talking about drugs and other adult stuff. Not only is it really funny but it makes sense because Data’s mother need help to translate something. It is probably the funniest moment of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Sean Astin Is perfect. 

Now for this being Josh Brolin's very first movie he ever started. I have to say he still does a remarkable job as Brandon because you can tell that he was having a lot of fun as this character. Now The character of Brandon is it jerk in this movie because he doesn't like his little brother and he likes to pick on him and he finds the rest of the Goonies annoying especially Mouth but deep down he still cares about his younger brother Mikey Walsh because he wants to help him find one-eyed Willie's treasure so he and his friends don't have to move away. The scene where Brandon Says shut up Mouth is  the funniest moment of the entire film because Brandon just finds Mouth annoying because he talks a lot so that's what makes the joke really funny. To be honest I think this is my second favorite performance in the entire film. The chemistry between him and Sean Astin Is magnificent. 

But by far my favorite performance in the entire film is Ke Huy Quan as Data because he is so funny to watch as this character. You can tell that he had a lot of fun in the film. Now the character of Data Is probably my favorite character of the entire film because he has shown that he is really intelligent and he enjoys helping his friends find one eyed Willie's Treasure so they can keep their homes and all of Data's lines of dialogue are just really funny and very entertaining. The scene where Data Says I'm setting booty traps.Then Stef says you mean booby traps. Then Data says that's what I said booby traps: Be quiet. Shh, God. Theses gays. Not only was it really funny. But it made sense because Data was pronouncing it wrong and Stef had to correct him on how to pronounce it right. It is probably the funniest moment of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Sean Astin Is fantastic.

Jeff Cohen plays Chunk In the film. I have to say he still does a fantastic job as this character. Now the character of Chuck is really incredible because he has shown to be kind of nervous. He doesn't want to go on any adventures to find one Eyed Willie's treasure. But he eventually decides to go to help his friends prevent their home from being destroyed. The scene where Chuck be friends Sloth Is not only a really emotional and Powerful scene but Charlotte's how much he really cares for him and wants him to be his friend. It is probably the most beautiful and one of the most emotional moments of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Sean Astin Is terrific.

Kerri Green plays Andy In the film. I have to say she still does a glorious job as the character. Now the character of Andy is really interesting because she is shown that she wants to help Mikey and the rest of his friends To find one-eyed Willie's treasure So they can keep their homes But at the same time she is not really much Into being a Goonie because she doesn't The idea of going on a dangerous adventure with them. The scene where Andy falls in love with Brandon and the two start Start to develop feelings towards each other and not only is it a really powerful and really interesting moment but shows how much Andy really cares for Brandon. It is probably one of the best moments of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Sean Astin Is exquisite.

Martha Plimpton plays Stef In the film. I have to say she still does an excellent job as the character. Now Stef as a character is Is incredible because she is shown that she really cares about her friends and wants to help them find one-eyed Willie's treasure so their houses don't get destroyed and out of the characters in the group she is the voice of reason. The scene were Stef  Thought data died and not only is a really suspenseful moment but it is probably the darkest moment of the entire film because she thought  he fell down the hole and died. It is probably the most nail biting moment of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Sean Astin Is magnificent.

John Matuszak Plays Sloth in the film. I have to say he still does a wonderful job as the character Because they probably give one more emotional performance of the entire film. Now the character of Sloth is a really interesting and tragic character because you feel bad for him because his family mistreats him because of the way he looks. So you can understand why he befriends The Goonies because they actually care about him. The scene where Sloth But friends Chuck is probably one more emotional moment in the film because he doesn't have any friends and when see Chuck he is really happy that he made a new friend. It is probably the most beautiful scene of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Sean Astin Is perfect. 

The directing by Richard Donner is perfect because what I like about his directing is that he gave all of theseCharacters really awesome and unique personalities because Mikey is the leader of the group. Data is the smart one of the group because he has all the gadgets to help them find the treasure. I also like how he made sloth sympathetic because you really feel bad for him because his family treats him like garbage because of the way he looks and the Goonies are the only ones who care about him. I also like how he made the story really interesting and really entertaining. You got the idea of a group of friends trying to find treasure to prevent their houses from being destroyed might not sound that entertaining. But somehow Richard Donner managed to make it really interesting and really exciting. I think it's really terrific of how he did that. 

So in conclusion I still really enjoy this film because of the storyline  revolving  around Mikey and his friends trying to find one eyed Willie's treasure so they can keep their home Works really well because you want the Goonies to succeed in their mission of saving their home from being destroyed. Also all the characters are really incredible because all of them have all interesting and unique personalities. My favorite character is Data because Ke Huy Quan Is so funny as the character and you can tell he was having a lot of fun in the film. I also like Josh Brolin as Brandon because for this being his very first film he gives a really entertaining and exquisite performance in the film and he would eventually get better as an actor as his career goes on. I also enjoyed the character  Sloth because he is one of the most sympathetic characters of the entire film because he just wants some friends. This is probably up there with The Kings Of Summer with Moises Arias as one of my favorite films of all time. I highly recommend you watch this film especially if you enjoy Ready Player One with Tye Sheridan. Then I'm sure you're going to like this one. I give this movie a 50/10.
