Here is My Movie Review of I Saw The TV Glow
So basically what happenes is that you have this teenager named Owen and Have a mother that is terminally ill. Then he meets this girl named Maddy who reading this episode guide of the show called The Pink OPaque and Owen decides to sneak over to her house on a Saturday night But unfortunately Maddy can't because she is always me because they no longer friends with Amanda And she has become ostracize by the school because of a rumor that she harassed Amanda. So she decided to tape each episode for him so Owen can watch it at home but as he starts to see weird things start to happen he sees the monsters from the show. He has weird visions of stuff happening in the show that is bringing The creatures into the real world. Then Maddy tells him that she has literally disappeared into the show itself. Then Owen has to try to get Maddy out of the TV. So it's up to Owen to figure out what is going on and why is the TV giving him weird visions and has to try to get Maddy out of the show and that's basically what the story is for the film. I have to say the storyline in this film is really entertaining because the idea of a television show gang you sucked into it and you're stuck there has a lot of potential and the film does an excellent job of executing that concept really well.
The acting in this movie is terrific. I still think everyone does a terrific job as the characters. This movie is probably up there with Deadpool and Wolverine as one of the best action films of this year.
However the absolute big stand out of the entire film is Justice Smith as Owen. Now Owen as a character is really entertaining because you can tell that he really likes Maddy and he is addicted to the show the Pink Opaque But As the film goes on Owen starts to become more unstable and obsessed with the show to the point they starts to hallucinate the TV show happening in real life and he has to do everything is power too tried to get his friend Maddy out of the TV. Probably the best moment with Owen is where he starts hallucinating the characters From The Pink Opaque. Not only is it a really haunting moment but it makes sense because Owen is so obsessed with the show they start to become really crazy to the point that he believes that he is in the show. It's probably the most chilling moment in the entire film. The chemistry between him and Brigett Lundy-Paina, Danielle Deadwyler is still perfect.
Brigett Lundy-Paina plays Owen´s friend Maddy In the film. I have to say she still does a glorious job as the character. Now Maddy as a character is really entertaining because you can tell that she really cares about Owen and she really wants him to watch The Pink OPaque believing he would like it But then she starts to go crazy to the point that she gets stuck in the TV show and she believe that that that it is real. But you also feel bad when because Maddie is being ostracized at school for Actually harassing Amanda and it causes everyone not to talk to her or want to spend time with her Probably the best moment with Maddy Is where she appears in the TV show The Pink OPaque ashe starts to freak out and not only was is really chilling but it makes sense because she start to go crazy in the show believing that it is real. It's probably the most disturbing moment of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Justice Smith is remarkable.
Danielle Deadwyler plays Owen's mother Brenda In the film. I have to say she still does a spectacular job as the character. Now Brenda as a character is really incredible because you can tell that she really cares about her son Owen and wants him to be happy with Maddy. But you can also see that she is really worried about him watching the show and she's fearing that it is making him go crazy. Probably the best moment with Brenda is where she and her son are at the fair and they are discussing about him and Maddy's relationship and how it is going and not only they really powerful moment but it makes sense because you can tell that she really wants her son to be happy with Maddie and wants him to be with her. Is probably the most beautiful moment of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Justice Smith is excellent.
But the best thing about this film is the directing by Jane Schoenbrun Because what I like about her directing is that she doesn't really great job of disgusting the subject of addiction because in this film Owen because addicted to the TV show The Pink OPaque How he became addicted to the show and he Kept on watching till he started hallucinating the stuff in the show in real life. This is really accurate to people that have an addiction when they either get into two drinking or watching a certain TV series where they can't stop and sometimes it can be viewed as a good thing or a bad thing if it goes too far. I think it is really tremendous of how she did that.
So in conclusion I still really enjoy this film Because of the way it tackles addiction to how if you get to something it either good when you want to keep going or bad in the case of when you get added to drinking and you cannot stop and sometimes you need to go to a therapy session to try to solve your addiction problems. I also like the storyline of this Film of how it focuses on Owen and Maddy getting addicted to this TV show where they start to hallucinate the stuff in the show in real life to the point that the TV starts really impermeable spirits. I think the film is up there with Monkey Man as one of the best movies of this year. I also think that Justice Smith and Brigett Lundy-Paina play off each other tremendously and they had such perfect chemistry throughout the film. I also think that this movie is up there with the Bikeriders as one of the best films of the 2020s. Also this movie is probably up there with Green Room as one of the best A24 films. I highly recommend you watch this film especially if you like Abigail With Giancarlo Esposito. I give this movie a 10/10.
