Here is My Movie Review of Gretel and Hansel

Here is My Movie Review of Gretel and Hansel

So basically what happened is that you have these two kids named Greta and Hansel and they are wondering in the ones and they soon come across this cottage And they meet the wedge who at first comes off very nice and inviting but They soon That the witch wants to eat them instead it is up  o Gretel and Hansel  to escape the witch and that's basically what the story is for this film. Now the storyline of this movie is actually really interesting because it followed the fairy tale exactly because the same thing happened. Hansel and Gretel go to the witch's cottage and they think she's really nice but she wants to eat them and I like how this film Puts a horror spin on the storyline.

The acting in this movie is still terrific because even though this movie focuses around three characters all three of the actors do a wonderful job as the characters and you can tell that the actors are having a lot of fun in this film. Also this movie is probably up there with The Devil All The Time as well the best acted films of 2020.

Sophia Lillis Plays Greta in the film. I have to say she still does a spectacular job as the character. Now Greta as a character is really Incredible Because if this is essentially her story she narrates the entire film and she doesn't believe that she is a strong woman but the witch manipulates her by telling her that she is a strong woman and once she finds out that the witch is evil she wants her and her brother Hansel to escape. Probably the best moment with Gretel Where she sees her Younger brother Hansel under the witches' control is about to fall into the oven and not only is it really disturbing.  But makes sense because it is revealed that the witch wanted to eat both of them. It's probably the most disturbing and horrifying scene of the entire film. The chemistry between Her and Samuel Leakey and Alice Krige Is fantastic.

Samuel Leakey plays Greta’s younger brother Hansel In the film. I have to say He still does this spectacular job as the character. Now Hansel as a character is really interesting because he is Very much scared when they first go into the winter's carnage. He suspects bad stuff is going to happen and he wants him and his sister Gretel to escape. Probably the best moment with Hansel is when he tells his sister Gretel that he wants to wave and not only is it really dark but it makes sense because he knows that The Witch wants to kill them. Is probably the most suspenseful moment of the entire film. The chemistry between Him and Sophia Lillis Is perfect.

However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Alice Krige as The Witch Because there are points where The Witch comes off very inviting and you know that she's evil and Alice Krige does a fantastic job of utilizing both sides of the character the sweet and innocent side of her and the more center and psychopathic side of her. Now the character of the Witch is really Incredible because at first she's very nice to Gretel and Hansel. She wants to make them both happy. But much like in the fairy tale she wants to eat them. Probably the best scene with The Witch is where she tells Gretel to stay with her and leave her brother Hansel and not only is it really shocking and disturbing but it makes sense because she is manipulating Greta into staying with her. It's probably the most shocking and the most suspenseful moment of the entire film. The Which is probably up there with Invisible Man and one of the best loans of 2020. The rivalry between her and Gretel and Hansel is Outstanding. The chemistry between her and Sophia Lillis Is magnificent.

The directing by Osgood Perkins is terrific because why I love about Hitler today that he does a wonderful job of adapting the storyline of Hansel and Gretel and made it more like a horror film because if you think about that story is pretty disturbing because you have two kids about to be eaten by a witch.  He did it and made it really accurate to the fairy tale. I also like how we made this film like a Tim Burton movie because many of the shots and photography are very creepy and it makes you think of Batman Returns in terms of his dark Gothic cinematography. I think it is really magnificent how he did that.

So in conclusion I still really enjoy the film because the storyline is simple. It is really engaging and really disturbing to follow up but it works extremely well. Also all the actors are really Awesome in the film. Also the horror sequences in the film are very awesome and also remind me of Shutter Island With Leonardo DiCaprio because of the creepy music and disturbing dialogue. This movie is probably up there with Mank Gary Oldman as one of my favorite films of 2020 Also The Witch is probably up there with Abigail from Abigail is one of the best villains of the 2020s. I have to say if you enjoy Renfield West Nicolas Cage then I'm sure you are going to enjoy this one. I give this movie a 10/10.
