Here is My Villain Review of XU Wenwu

Now Xu Wenwu is the Main Villain in 2021's superhero action film Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Now I'm going to explain everything about his character. What makes him such an awesome and sympathetic MCU villain. 

Origin- Now Xu Wenwu´s origin is very interesting because he is the leader of the Ten Rings and he has killed millions of people he has battled in countless wars but then one day he decides to settle down and he falls in love with his soon to be a wife Ying Li There are kids named Shang Chi and Xialing. But unfortunately Xu Whenu´s  happiness will soon be taken away from him when this group called the iron gang ambushed their home and brutally beat Ying Li and killed her. So he decided to seek revenge on them and brutally killed them in the bar. So I Still think overall Xu Wenwu´s Origin was really interesting you got to learn about his warrior side and his family signed in having that thing he loved that being his wife Yingling being take it away from him you do feel bad for him and the film Handles that really well because He had  something he loved That was brutally take away from him. 

Motivation- Now Xu Wenwu´s Motivations are really strong and understandable so he recruits his son Shang Chi and his sister Xaling and tells them that he keeps hearing voices of his dead wife and he said that she is leaving clues to help them find her so they could be a family again so he told them to go to Ta La in order to find her and bring her back home. I still think his motivation works you do understand where Xu Whenu  is coming from he just wants to bring his wife back so So they can be a family again and He thinks he's doing the right thing but he's actually doing it in a very horrific way where millions of people will be killed and I think the film treats his motivations very tragically and very seriously because again you just feel so bad for him. 

Best Scenes- Now there are a lot of very memorable moments with Xu Wenwu. But if I had to pick my absolute favorite moment with him it would be the scene where he fights his son Shang Chi for the first time and he gave this very memorable monologue where he says to his son Shang Chi Yes  you are.¨ You spent your entire life afraid always running always hiding.¨ You were there when they came for her and you did nothing.¨ You stood at a window and watched her die.¨I still think the reason why the this scene works extremely well  you can see the hatred he has for his son because he just stood at a window watched his mother die right in front of him and  another reason why the scene works really well is because of the tremendous performance given by Tony Leung because he really  give this tragic and emotional performance to the character. 

Evil Deeds- Now Xu Wenwu Does a lot of bad things in this movie for example he says to his son Shang Chi if the people of Ta La refuse to help them he would burn their village to the ground which means he will kill countless people to get what he wants and he also manipulates and try to blackmail his son Shang Chi into becoming a killer just like him so he can rule by his side in The Ten Rings. He has also been shown to psychologically torture his son Shang Chi by breaking him by training him to becoming the greatest assassin in The Ten Rings. To be honest all the  stuff that Xu Wenwu Is doing Is bad but at the same time you really understand why he's doing all this. He wants his wife back, he wants his son to be just like him and wants him to be the greatest killer ever. 

Conclusion- Xu Wenwu is one of the most tragic villains in the MCU. I still think the film handled the character extremely well because you hate him for what he is doing. But at the same time you do really feel bad for him because he had to watch his wife be killed right in front of him and in his eyes he thinks he's doing the right thing. But he had actually doing any more horrific and dangerous. There are a lot of great moments. like the monologue he gives to his son when he chastises him for not saving his mother It the best Phase 4 villain moments.  But the thing that makes Xu Wenwu Such a tremendous villain in the beautiful and tragic performance bu Tony Leung. You can tell this guy puts in so much effort as the character you can tell he was having fun in the role. He is definitely In the top three most tragic MCU villains. I'm going to give Xu Wenwu a 10/10.
