Here is My Villain Review of Taskmaster

Here is My Villain Review of Taskmaster

Now I'm going to discuss the character of Taskmaster Who is the secondary villain in 2021's Black Widow Because my opinions have changed on this character a little bit because Rick thinking about there is some good elements to this character but she's still a really disappointing MCU villain and I'm going to explain why she's one of the most disappointing villains in Phase 4.

Origin- Now Taskmaster ´ s Origin is a really interesting concept because I like the idea that Antonia Dreykov was experimented on by her father General Dreykov And I think it works a little bit because the film does a decent job of make you feel bad for Taskmaster because you can tell that she was suffering through loneliness and depression when her father tortured and experimented on her. but I don't think her origin story is as memorable or as powerful as Namor ´ s origin story in Black Panther Wakanda Forever or Killmonger ´ s origin in Black Panther. so overall I think the film did an okay job with Taskmaster ´ s origin.

Character- now Taskmaster as a character is really dumb because she resembles nothing of her comic character because in the comics taskmaster is a dude and the weird thing that in the first half of the film Taskmaster is a guy and he did come up very intimidating with the heavy breathing he did with them all Michael Myers and I think even with that dumb twist where it's revealed that he is a girl. I think the way they have you feel bad for Taskmaster does work because Antonia was experimented on by her father and the movie does a decent job of making you feel bad for this character. now again as a comic to movie adaptation she's awful she's a terrible adaptation of this character. But as an MCU villain I think she is ok and I will say though unlike Aldridge Killian or Kro because i will say Taskmaster is better written than those two villains.

Motivation- Now Taskmaster’s motivations  in concept are really good because she want to retrieve black widow and take her back to the Red Room so she could be put under General Dreykov´s control So she can become this ruthless black widow assassin like the other black widows that Dreykov has put under his control. But in execution it doesn't really work now I will say her motivations aren't as dumb as like Aldritch Killian's motivation than Iron Man 3 or as dumb as Black Mask´s motivations from Birds of Prey. so compared to those two villains I think Taskmaster's motivation is pretty good. so I think the film did an okay job of giving Taskmaster a motivation.

Best Scenes- now rethinking about it I said before that Taskmaster didn't have a great scenes but after looking at Black Mask compared to that terrible Villain I think Taskmaster does have some decent moments like the fight between her and Black Widow on the bridge is really awesome and the scene where she asked Black Widow is General Dreykov dead. Also even when she reveals herself as a woman is really dumb but the music does make the scene a lot more suspenseful. even the scene where she's chasing Natasha Romanov and Yelena in the city it is a really fun moment it does show how far Taskmaster will go to complete her mission. i think the thing that makes these things somewhat tolerable the more I think about it is the performance by Olga Kurylenko because he don't do a decent job add this character because he does give this character somewhat a personality. But that being said I still don't think she is the best MCU villain performance. Now I will say she's better than guy Pierce in Iron Man 3 because he was just way too over the top and cheesy to take seriously at the villain. Well Olga Kurylenko at least you can tell she's having fun as this character. So I think the film did a decent job of giving Taskmaster some decent moments.

Evil Deeds- Now well I did say that Taskmaster doesn't do anything evil as much as other MCU villains and that still true but compared to Black Mask from birds of the prey compared to that loser. Taskmaster does do a lawn mower evil compared to him she chases after trying to kidnap her and reprogram her to be under Dreykov ´ s control and she does kill people. She also tries to kill Red Guardian to prevent him and Black Widow from reaching the red room. No well taskmaster isn't as evil as like other MCU villains like Mysterio and Kang I do they compare to like Kro and Aldridge Killian I do think she is evil I think the film did and okay job of making her evil.

Conclusion- really thinking about I don't think Taskmaster is as bad as I thought she was because there is stuff I do like about her. I do like her backstory how she was lonely and depressed and she was being tortured by General Dreykov AKA her dad and the film does a teeth a job and make you feeling bad for her because of what she went through. Not yes as a character she is really terrible in terms adaptation of Taskmaster because she doesn't talk as much at the one in the comics she doesn't train other criminals in combat like in the comics. But they got an MCU villain I think she's written decently again you do feel bad for her because of what she went through. Also There are some Stand Out moments with task master likes the ass black Widow if General Drakeov is gone and that fight on the bridge is pretty decent and The scene where she's fighting the red Guardian Is really fun because it shows how intimidating Taskmaster is Are they going because compared to your black mask from Birds of Prey I think Taskmasters moments are a lot more interesting because his moments were just flat out dumb and didn't make a lot of sense. Also I think the thing that helps Taskmasters moments being fun in the performance by Olga Kurylenko now yes compare to Willem Dafoe as the Green Goblin her performance is pretty bad but compared to Bill Skarsgard´s performance in eternals. I think her performance is decent. But that being said though I still think Taskmaster the very disappointing villain because she had this really cool ability to mimic other people's finding style and the film doesn't really utilize it all that much it doesn't some areas but not a lot and I feel like taskmaster Need to be rewritten. So she can be more accurate to the comics. Now I will say though I think she's much better than Old Tron because Ultron was just overly stupid and silly well taskmaster at least she was intimidating and she did have an on-screen presence. But it's still not a great MCU. She's still a disappointing MCU villain. So i am going to give Taskmaster a 5/10
