Here is My Movie Review of Cherry

Here is My Movie Review of Cherry

So basically what happens is that you have the bank robber named Cherry and He has been robbing banks for a long time and one day he decides to join the Army but after one of his comments gets killed in the war when he comes back home he starts to have PTSD and he starts to get addicted to drugs and he has to do everything in his power to acquire his PTSD and that is basically what the story is for the film.

The acting in this movie is terrific. I still think everyone does a great job as their characters.

However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Tom Holland as Cherry. What makes Cherry such a fantastic character is that you really understand the stress he has gone through because he robbed a lot of banks he had fought in a war and now he gets addicted to drugs and  you really feel bad for him because of those reasons. Probably the best moment with Cherry in the film is where he had to watch his friend Tommy die in front of him in the war and you can see how sad he is because when he sees his body he actually breaks down crying and it is probably one of the most emotional moments in the entire film. This is probably Tom Holland's best performance he has ever done. This is probably the darkest Tom Holland movie ever made. The chemistry between him and Ciara Bravo, Forrest Goodluck, and Jack Reynor Is still amazing.

Ciara Bravo plays Emily in the film. I have to say she still does a remarkable job as the character. What makes Emily such a sympathetic character is that you really feel bad for her because she is worried what the war has done to Cherry and why he's been doing so many drugs and it gets to the point that she can't take it anymore and decides to not spend time with him because of that. Probably the best moment with Emily is when she tells Cherry that she does not want to spend time with him. Not only was it a really tragic scene but it made sense because Sherry was going through PTSD and drug addiction and it is probably the most heartbreaking scene in the entire film. The chemistry between her and Tom Holland is still awesome.

Jack Reynor Plays Pills and Coke in the film. I have to say he still does a spectacular job as the character. What makes Pills and Coke such an interesting character is that he desperately wants Cherry to  help him rob the bank to pay off the mobster so he doesn't get killed. Probably the best scene with Pills  and Coke When he and Cherry are arguing over who gets to hold the gun during the bank robbery and not only was it a very suspenseful scene but it made sense because Cherry wanted the bank robbery to go really perfectly. It is probably the most suspenseful scene in the entire film. The chemistry between him and Tom Holland is marvelous.

Forrest Goodluck plays James Lightfoot In the film. I have to say he still does an incredible job as the character. What makes James Lightfoot such an awesome character is that Give the complete opposite of Cherry and Pills And Coke because he doesn't want to rub the bank but he has to do it anyway to avoid his friends being killed by the mobster. Probably the best thing with James Lightfoot is when he finds out that Pills And Coke has been shot and you can see the panic and stress in his eyes And not only was it a suspenseful and blank scene but it made sense because he didn't know that he was shot and he was bleeding in the car. It is probably the most shocking scene in the entire film. The chemistry between him and Tom Holland is tremendous.

The directing by Joe and Anthony Russo is Is astounding because what I like about their directing is that they do a fantastic job of tackling the subject of war PTSD and drug addiction because in real life a lot soldiers who suffered through PTSD That was so  bad that they start getting to drugs and painkillers to try to get their PTSD to go away by only makes things worse. I think it is really excellent of how they did that.

So in conclusion I still really enjoy this movie because of the messages and the way it discusses drug addiction and PTSD in a very accurate and mature way. I still think this is probably up there with The Guilty with Jake Gyllenhaal  as one of the most underrated movies of 2021. This is probably up there with Swan Song with Awkwafina as one my favorite apple TV plus original movies. I still think more people should watch this movie especially if you like war films like The Catcher Was a Spy with Paul Rudd. I give this movie a 10/10.
