Here is My Movie Review of Speed 2 Cruise Control

So basically what happens is that you have Annie and her boyfriend Alex Shaw and they decide to go on a cruise to the Caribbean. But then they find out there is this guy named John Geiger who is determined to hijack the cruise ship and cause it to explode and kill all the people that are on it. So it was up to Annle and Alex Shaw to take down John Geiger and prevent the ship from crashing into the harbor. That is basically what the story is for this movie. The storyline in this movie is just a lazy rip off to the storyline in the first movie but the only difference being that the first movie was more intense and more entertaining to watch. 

The acting in this movie is So laughably bad that it is so entertaining to watch. 

Sandra Bullock does come back as Annie. I have to say her performance In this movie compared to the first movie is so laughably terrible that it's really entertaining. Probably the most laughable bad thing is when she starts painting that the ship is not stopping.  It is probably the most unintentionally funny moment in the film. The chemistry between her and Jason Patric Is average because I don't think it holds a candle to the chemistry between Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves in the first film. 

Jason Patric plays Alex Shaw in the film his performance is just really flat and blend because it doesn't even hold a candle to Keanu Reeves’s performance as Jack Traven from the first film. Also the character of Alex Shaw is so boring and unmemorable because It just feels like he tries to be like Jack Traven from the first film but the only difference being that Jack Traven was the more interesting and memorable character. Probably the most unintentionally funny part is where the boat starts to flood and the scene where Alex Shaw is pancake just comes off as really over the top and cheesy that is actually really entertaining. The chemistry between her and Sandra Bullock Is Okay because it still doesn't hold a candle to the chemistry between Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock in the first film. 

Willem Dafoe plays John Geiger in the film. I have to say he is probably the most entertaining part of the entire film because he is just hamming it up, he's chewing the scenery and I can tell that Willem Dafoe is having fun as the character. Also the character of John Geiger is so over the top and cheesy because for some reason he has this weird obsession with golf. He also has this weird obsession with leeches to the point that he is relaxing in the sun with them and it's probably the most unintentionally funny scenes in the entire film. The chemistry between him and Sandra Bullock is good. The rivalry between him and Annie is decent. Fun fact actor Gary Oldman was considered to play John Geiger. 

The directing by Jan De Bont Is so laughably cheesy that eventually pray interesting because for some reason he thinks that putting the main characters on a cruise ship equals fast but it really doesn't I think what he should have picked was a train because the train will make more sense because the train goes really fast a cruise ship goes really slow. I will give him one credit: he did pick a really entertained villain for the film. 

So in conclusion this is a really awful film. It is a really bad sequel to the movie Speed With Keanu Reeves and that's another problem with the phone Keanu Reeves is not in. to be honest if Keanu Reeves came back as Jack Traven then maybe the film would be a little bit better. But at the same time this movie is unintentionally funny and Willem Dafoe gives the best performance of the entire film. Now this movie does deserve a 1/10 because it barely has anything to do with the first film. But because it is so laughably bad and Willem Dafoe gives the best performance of the entire film. I give this movie a 10/10.
