Here is My Movie Review of The Little Mermaid 2023

Here is My Movie Review of The Little Mermaid 2023

So basically what happens is that much like in the original film you have Ariel who wants to explore the human world but her father King Triton doesn't let her go to the surface world because he said that humans are dangerous. Then she sees this guy named Prince Eric who is drowning in the water so she decides to save him. Then she falls in love with him but then King Triton gets really angry because Ariel broke the rule that mermaids are not allowed to be in the surface world. But she tells her dad that she is in love with him. But he doesn't want her to see Prince Eric again. Possession meets this woman named Ursula who makes her deal saying if she kisses Prince Eric in 3 days she gets to stay as human. But then she finds out that Ursula wants to use King Triton's Trident to rule the ocean. So it's up to Ariel to fall in love with Prince Eric and take down Ursula and save the ocean and that is basically what the story is for the film.

The acting in this movie is terrific. I think everyone gives their all. I could tell everyone is having fun as their characters.

Halle Bailey plays Ariel in the film. I have to say she does a terrific job as the character. Now the character of Ariel is relatively the same, just like in the original film how  She wants to learn more about the humans and how she wants to be with Prince Eric. Also Helle Bailey’s same voice is really excellent because she sounds just like the original actress who voiced Ariel in the original film. Probably my favorite thing that they changed in the film is where in the file battle against Ursula Ariel steers the ship into Ursula’s  stomach which kills her and in the original Prince Eric was the one who did it. I think it is really interesting how they did that. The chemistry between her and Javier Bardem, Jonah Hauer-King, Jacob Tremblay, Awkwafina, Daveed Diggs, and Melissa McCartney Is really remarkable.

Javier Bardem Plays  Ariel’s dad King Triton. Now the character of King Triton Is relatively the same. He is very protective of Ariel and he forbids her to go to the human world because he says that humans are evil. Probably the darkest scene is where King Triton sacrifices himself to save Ariel from Ursula by letting her Electric Eels Flotsam and Jetsam him and almost kill him So Ariel can escape from Ursula. I think that is a really great change from the original film. I also like how the film Talks about Ariel’s month's death and you can tell that King Triton really misses her.  That's another change I really enjoyed from this movie. The chemistry between him and Halle Bailey is really incredible.

Jonah Hauer-King Plays Prince Eric in the film. I think he does an amazing job as the character. Now the character of Prince Eric is a little different from the one in the animated movie much like the animated film he still loves Ariel. But in this film you get to see Prince Eric's mother which she wasn't in the original film so that was a really interesting thing that they did for the film. Also  unlike the one in the original film Prince Eric in this one has the British accent well the one the anime end film had an American accent. Also in the original movie Prince Eric didn't have a song while in this one he does have a song and it's called Prince Eric's Decision and the song explains how much he loves Ariel and how much he wants to be with her. I also think that was also a really terrific change from the original film. The romance between him and Ariel is relatively the same; they still love each other and they still spend time with each other. The chemistry between her and Halle Bailey is really excellent.

Jacob Tremblay voices Flounder in this movie. I have to say he does a terrific job as the character. Now unlike the original film Flounder is not in the movie a whole lot but for what he has he is still relatively the same he is still friends with Ariel. He still likes to hang out with her. The one change that they did Is that in the original film Flounder doesn't participate in the file battle against Ursula like he did in the original film. But I was relatively fine with this change. It was really interesting how they changed the file about just a little bit so it doesn't, and the common copy of the original climax from the original film. The chemistry between him and Halle Bailey is really excellent.

Awkwafina voices Scuttle in the film. I have to say she does a marvelous job as the character. Now the character of Scuttle Is relatively the same with a few changes. The original film Scuttle  is still really funny. I found all her jokes in the film really funny and really entertaining to watch. The main differences are that in the original film Scuttle was a male and in this one Scuttle Is a female.  It was a really great change that they did for the film. The funny Moment in the film is where Scuttle Is sings her Scuttle Butt song and it is the funniest moment in the film. Also Awkwafina  has a really great singing voice. Also the chemistry between her and Halle Bailey Is really magnificent.

Daveed Diggs voices Sebastian in the film. I have to say he does an awesome job as the character. Now the character Sebastian is relatively similar to the one in the film; he is still protective of Aerial And he likes to spend time with her. Probably the funniest scene in the film is where Sebastian tells  Scuttle to drop him near Prince Eric's castle and she dropped him at the wrong time. Is it probably the second funniest moment in the film. The chemistry between him and Halle Bailey Is really astounding.

However the absolute big stand out of the entire film is Melissa McCartney as Ursula. Now the character of Ursula is really accurate to her cartoon counterpart because much like in the original film she pretends to be all nice to Ariel but in reality she had their own plans to rule the sea. Also her villain song Poor Unfortunate Souls Is just like the one from the original film. The only thing that they change is that they slow down the tempo in this film. So it is much easier to sing because in the original the tempo goes  really fast early on in the song. Also the CGI to  bring her to life looks really awesome and really interesting. I'll say this. I think Ursula  is a better villain than Scar from the 2019 Lion King. Now I like Scar in the film. I do think Be Prepared was not necessarily bad but it was more of a monologue than a song. Well Poor Unfortunate Souls was more of a song because Ursula was singing the song and Scar did half talking half singing in his song. Probably the best scene in the movie Is when Ursula is trying to find her potion and she is freaking out and screaming and not only was it hilarious but it made sense because she was trying to find the potion to turn herself into a human so she can marry Prince Eric Instead of Ariel.  It is probably the funniest moment in the entire film. The rival between her and Ariel is tremendous. The chemistry between her and Halle Berry Is spectacular.

The directed by Rob Marshall is really interesting because  what about his directing that he keeps most of the stuff the same but he also changes a couple of things up. Like in the original film, the movie didn't really develop Ariel and Prince Eric's relationship as much but in this film they develop it much more. I think it is really outstanding how he did that.

So in conclusion I really enjoyed this movie. I like how it captured the magic from the original Little Mermaid film but also made it modern at the same time. I also think Ursula is up there with The High Evolutionary from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 as one of the best villains of 2023. Also Ursula is up there with Namor The submariner from Black Panther Wakanda For Forever is one of the best villains of the 2020s. This is probably the best Disney live action remake I have ever seen. If you love the original Little Mermaid film that was really back in 1989. I'm sure you're going to like this one. I give this movie a 10/10.

Here is My Movie Review of Three Thousand Years of Longing

Here is My Movie Review of Three Thousand Years of Longing

So basically what happens is that you have this Woman named Dr Alithea Binnie who is an architect and one day she goes to the marketplace and she finds a bottle and brings it back to her hotel room. Then she opens The bottle to find out there is  genie inside and he tells her His past  life of how he was trapped in multiple bottles and tells Dr Alithea Binnie to make three wishes to set him free and is up to Dr Alithea  Binnie to make the three wishes and set the genie she  free and that is basically what the story is for this movie.

The acting in this movie is really excellent and from the majority of the film it basically has two main actors as the main focus and they both do a steroid job as the characters.

Tilda Swinton plays Dr Alithea Binnie  In the film. I have to say she does a terrific job as the character. What makes Dr Alithea Binnie  such an interesting character is that she really wants to free The Djinn from his bottle. Probably the best moment with Dr Alithea Binnie Is when she first meets the Djinn and she teaches him how to speak English Only was it really powerful but it made sense because he mostly spoke in Turkish because he was from Istanbul Turkey. It is probably the strongest moment of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Idris Elba is amazing.

However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Idris Elba as The Djinn. What makes The Djinn such a sympathetic character is that you really feel bad for me because all he wants to do is to be free of being stuck in a bottle. Probably the best Scene with The Djinn Is when he tells  Dr Alithea Binnie  about his entire backstory of how he Just wanted to be set free from each bottle that he was in. It is probably the most powerful moment in the entire film. The romance between him and  Dr Alithea Binnie is also really entertaining because you can tell that she really cares about him.  This is probably Idris Elba's best performance he had ever done. The chemistry between him and Tilda Swinton is fantastic.

The directing by George Miller is really interesting because what I like about his directing is that he does a really great job of tackling the subject of Just wanted to be free because in real life there are people who are in a really bad place in their lives and just want to have a free and normal life and I think it is really incredible how he did that.

So in conclusion I really enjoyed this movie because the message is very emotional because in order to find your happiness you can figure out what makes you happy. I also like the storyline of Dr Alithea Binnie learning about The Djinn ´ s backstory. Also the bonding between Dr Alithea Binnie and The Djinn is probably the strongest aspect of the film. Also Tilda Swinton and Idris Elba playoff each other tremendously they have such amazing chemistry together in the film. I still think this is up there with Ambulance as one of the most underrated films of 2022. Also this movie is up there with french as one of the most underrated films of the 2020s. I still think more people should watch this film especially if you like the movie Beast which also stars Idris Elba. I give this movie a 10/10.

Here is My Movie Review of the Hunchback of Notre Dame

Here is My Movie Review of the Hunchback of Notre Dame

So basically what happens is that you have this guy named Quasimodo and he lives in the bell tower in Paris. Then one day he wants to go The Festival of Fools. But his master Judge Claudo Frollo wouldn't let him. So he decides to sneak to the festival and There he starts to have fun but once the townspeople find out that he is deformed and they decide to throw food at him and make fun of him because he is deformed and then he gets rescued by this girl named Esmeralda and he starts falling in love with him but Judge Claudo Frollo thinks that she is a witch. So he decides Kill her by burning her in front of Notre Dame. So it is up to Quasimodo to take down his master Judge Claudo Frollo   and save Esmeralda. That is basically what the story is for this movie.

Tom Hulce voices Quasimodo. I have to say he still does a terrific job as the character. What makes Quasimodo such an awesome character is that you really feel bad for him because all he wants to do is to explore the outside world and wants to be accepted by the  other people. Probably the best  scene with Quasimodo is where he stands up to Judge Claudo Frollo. Telling him that there are people who are just as evil and cruel as him. Is it probably one of the strongest moments in the film. The chemistry between him and Demi Moore, Kevin Kline, and Tony Jay is still fantastic.

Demi Moore voices  Esmeralda  In the film. I have to say she does an excellent job as the character. What makes Esmeralda such a wonderful character Is that you can see that she really cares about Quasimodo and loves him just the way he is. Probably the best scene with Esmeralda Is where she saves Quasimodo from the town's people who are throwing food at him and then she comes to believe that she likes him. It is probably the most emotional thing in the entire film. The chemistry between her and Tom Hulce Is still remarkable.

Kevin Kline Voices captain Phoebus In the film. Now Captain Phoebus isn't a villain but he does follow Judge Claude Frollo’s orders. But he eventually betrays  him Because he finds out what Judge Claud Frollo's real intentions are. Probably the best scene with Captain Phoebus is where he turns against Judge Claude Frollo when he tells him to burn a gypsy's house down. But he refuses this  because he doesn't think they deserve to die a fiery death. It is the most intense scene of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Tom Hulce Is spectacular.

However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Tony Jay as Judge Claude Frollo. What makes Judge Claude Frollo such a tremendous villain is that in his eyes he thinks he's doing the right thing In the name of God by killing all the gypsies and he thinks by doing this justice will be served but in reality he is committing mass genocide. Judge Claude Frollo might be up there with the Horn King from the Black Coldren as the darkest Disney villain ever made. Also his villain song Hellfire is probably up there with Scar's song Be Prepared from The Lion King as one of the best Disney villain songs. This is by far is probably the darkest Disney song because the song represents Judge Claude Frollo’s lust and sexual desires towards Esmeralda and he states in the song if She doesn't choose him he will burn her to hell. Also Judge Claude Frollo Is really fun to hate because you want him to die for  all the horrible things that he has done and he dies by hanging on to a statue of a demon's face and it roars at him and he descends into the fiery pits of hell. The rivalry between him and Quasimodo is astounding. Fun fact actors like Derek Jacoby, Malcolm McDowell, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Anthony Hopkins, and Alan Rickman were all considered to voice Judge Claude Frollo. The chemistry between him and Tom Tom Hulce Is still tremendous.

The directing by Gary Trousdale and Kirk  Wies Is really interesting Because what I like about Their directing and that they do a great job tackling the subject of Being prejudice because what's really sad that there are people in real life who make fun of other people just because of the way that they look and it's just really depressing to see. I'm also happy that they took the subject really seriously in the film so I think it is really Incredible of how they did that.

So in conclusion I still really enjoy this movie because it has a really great religious theme in terms of If you're doing something in the name of God or you're just doing it to be selfish. I also still think this is the darkest Disney villain of all time. This is probably the darkest the most powerful Disney movie of all time. I give this movie a 10/10.
