Here is My Movie Review of Nefarious

Now when it comes to this movie I always really enjoyed this film because of the themes of questioning if you're really going insane or it's all in your head and the way this movie unravels multiple personalities is really disturbing. But really interesting and this is probably up with The Boogeyman and one of the most underrated films of 2023. I also just like the idea of this movie of these two people just talking in a room together and trying to see who's telling the truth and who is crazy what do they very interesting concept in the film executes it perfectly.

Now the storyline in this movie is really incredible because it revolved around this guy named Edward Wayne/Nefariamus/Nefarious Is in a interrogation room and he is starting to go crazy and They're this guy named Dr Jason Martin who is there too interrogate him and question him if he's going saying because Edward Wayne's /Nefarious believes that he's being possessed by a demon so Dr. Jason Martin is trying to figure out if Edward Wayne's is telling the truth or he's just going crazy and it's up to dr Jason Martin to figure out if Edward Wayne's / nefarious is going crazy and that's basically what the story is very simple very interesting and you could say that this is Like if Christopher Nolan took the scene from the Dark Knight where Batman is interrogating the Joker and he extended that into one l movie. I think the storyline in this movie is probably up there with the storyline in The Creator and one of the most interesting storylines of of 2023.

Now the acting in this movie is incredible Because even though it only has two actors in this film both of the actors play off each other perfectly and I think the acting is up there with the acting in Evil Dead Rise as what the best acted films of 2023 and you can tell that both of these actors are having a lot of fun as these characters.

However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Sean Patrick Flanery as Edward Wayne/Nefariamus Nefarious because Sean Patrick Flanery  is essentially playing three characters in the film. You have Edward Wayne who is this normal guy who said that he is possessed by a demon. But then you have Nefariamus and Nefarious who is his darker side and they torture and manipulate Dr Jason Martin in the film and Sean Patrick Flanery  does such a glorious job of playing all three of these characters. Now the character of Edward Wayne Is it really incredible and dark character because he believed that he is possessed by a demon and he wants to try to tell Dr Jason Martin what is going on but his two evil sides Nafariamus and Nefarious Enjoys playing mind games with Dr Jason Martin and want to break him as much as possible. The scenes where Edward Wayne tells Dr Jason Martin Are incredible whether it's him meeting Dr Jason Martin for the first time or him freaking out saying that he is not possessed it does wait to some really horrifying in some really nail-biting moments throughout the film. Also if they made this film back in 2007 and you had William Defoe as Edward Wayne/Nefarious he will give one of the scariest performances in the film The chemistry between him and Jordan Belfi Is terrific because both actors play off each other perfectly In the film because it's just them talking in a room together. 

Jordan Belfi  plays Dr Jason Martin in the film and his performance is tremendous. He does such a glorious and exquisite job of playing this guy who is very intelligent and doesn't take nonsense from anybody and takes his job extremely seriously. Now the character of Dr Jason Martin is they really tremendous and Incredible character because he wants to try to help Edward Wayne figure out if he's really possessed by a demon and try to get him to control all of his personalities before he gets brutally executed by the police. The scenes where Dr John Martin are incredible whether it's him meeting nefarious for the first time and tell him that he's here to help him figure out if he's possessed by a demon or him trying to get Nefarious to calm down and go back to his other personality that being Edward Bradley. It does lead to some really horrifying and some really incredible moments throughout the film and the way they're interactions Play out it kind of reminds me of the scene in The Dark Knight where Batman is interrogating the Joker That's out tremendous their interactions were. Also much like I said about Willem Dafoe if they made this movie back in 2007 and they cast Paul Rudd as Dr Jason Martin you have had one of the best MCU villain in interactions that being Ant-Man and the Green Goblin and I think Willem Dafoe and Paul Rudd would play off each other perfectly. The chemistry between him and Sean Patrick Flanery  Is magnificent because you can tell that both actors were having a lot of fun while making this film.

However the best thing about the film is the directing by Chuck Konzelman and Cary Solomon because you will think that a movie about just two people talking an interrogation room is really boring and not interesting but somehow these two managed to take that concept and make it both disturbing and Incredible at the same time because again this is a movie where you have just two people question one another if one of them is possessed by a demon or just going completely insane. I also like how they discuss the subject of multiple personality disorder because of the really scary and really disturbing mental illness because the person has so many voices in their heads that they take on different Personas and can leave them to do crazy or disturbing stuff and I'm super happy that they take the subject super seriously. I still think it is really incredible how they did that.

So in conclusion i still really enjoy this film simply because of the storyline having it revolve around Edward Wayne's/Nefarious who desperately needs help from Dr Jason Martin to help him figure out if he's possessed or he's being crazy and that is a very interesting concept and you'll think that the movie will make it really boring but no the movie actually makes it very interesting and very suspenseful all the way through because all it is is just two people talking in a interrogation room for the entire movie and the film executes it perfectly. Although the performances are incredible sean Patrick Flanery as Edward Wayne's / Nefarious he gives a really scary and very nail biting performance and you can tell that he is having a blast in this film. Also Jordan Belfry as Dr Jason Martin gives a really powerful and really Stellar and fun performance and this character and him and Sean Patrick Flanery play off each other perfectly. also the scenes of Dr Jason Martin and Edward Wayne's/Nefarious are probably some of the darkest moments in the film because sometime they'll be talking normally but then Edward would raise his voice and yell that he is getting possessed by a demon and it does lead to some really haunting and some really horrifying moments in the film. This is definitely in my top five favorite films of 2023. I highly recommend you watch this film especially if you enjoy really dark and nail biting films like Knock At The Cabin with Dave Batista then I'm sure you're going to like this film as well. I give this movie a 10/10.
