I agree with you that it is hard to picture anyone else but Jonathan Majors playing Kang the Conqueror because he did such an astonishing job playing the character. But to be fair I can see Idris Elba playing the character because he can play really serious characters. But overall I'm really happy with the actor they picked for the part.
