Here is my  movie review of Batman Returns

So basically what happens is that it is Christmas in Gotham City and you have this guy named Max Shreck and he wants to build a power plant that the mayor refuses to build. Then you have This woman named Selena Kyle And she finds  out that Max is building an illegal power plant But then When Max sees her he pushes her out of a window and she dies And she gets resurrected by alley cats and becomes Catwoman And now she wants revenge on Max schreck for pushing her out of a window. Then you have the penguin who wants to run for mayor In Gotham and find his parents and find and kidnapped all the first born sons of Gotham City Bruce Wayne/Batman to take down the penguin and Max Shreck. That is basically what the story is for this movie. 

The acting in this movie is still excellent. I still think all the actors do a tremendous job as their characters. But that being said I think the acting in the Batman is a lot better because that film has better writing.

Michael Keaton plays Bruce Wayne/Batman In the film. I have to say he still does a terrific job as the character. Now the character of Bruce Wayne / Batman is interesting because He is romantically involved with Selena Kyle/ Catwoman. Well at the same time he is trying to stop Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot/The Penguin From kidnapping and murdering all the firstborn kid in Gotham. I think the film does a decent job of developing the character of Bruce Wayne / Batman but much like Batman 89 this movie also makes him into a killer he kills a lot of people and it is still stupid and still out of character because Bruce Wayne/Batman is not a killer. That's why I think Christian Bale is a better Batman because he doesn't kill and he gets more development than Batman does in this film. Probably the best moment with Berth Wayne / Batman is where he first meets Selena Kyle / Catwoman Not only is it really important but it makes sense because it foreshadows the romance between him and t Kyle / Catwoman period is probably the most important moment of the entire film.

Michael Gough plays Alfred in the film. I have to say he still does an excellent job as the character. now Alfred as a character is really interesting because he does have a little bit more to do in this one he did in the first film but to be like I think Michael Kane's out front from the Dark Knight Trilogy it's a lot better because he actually give birth Wayne/batman more life advice then the one in the film he is still an entertain character but I feel Like the one the Batman played by Andy Serkis is a bit better as well . the chemistry between him and michael Keaton is still remarkable.

However the absolute standout of the entire film is Michelle Pfeiffer as Selena Kyle/ Catwoman. Now Selena Kyle/Catwoman Is really interesting because you really feel bad for because they're boss Max Shrek treats are like garbage and he threw her out of a window and she decides to get revenge on him by becoming Catwoman and destroying his apartment store and trying to kill him. Now this interpretation of Catwoman is relatively different from the one in the comics because this one she has actual cat powered she actually has nine lives so she has to die nine times before she actually dies. I think it works for the film because it's in the Tim Burton film a likes to make stuff different from the comics because the way he interprets everything of the characters. He does get the romance between Selena Kyle / Catwoman and Brooke Wayne / batman Accurate to the source material because they like each other but they sort of Not like each other. Probably the best moment west Selena Kyle / Catwoman it's where she says to the penguin I will come back later.¨ Not only was it really funny but it made sense because she wasn't really into the penguin because she didn't find him attractive. It is probably one of the funniest moments of the entire film . Also what I like about Michelle Pfeiffer's performance and that she's essentially playing three characters in the film she plays the Sweet and innocent Selena Kyle you at the beginning of the movie. Then she plays the Catwoman side of the character who is more confident sexually aggressive and a lot more vicious than when you see Selena Kyle at the beginning of the film. Finally there is the Selena Kyle you get at the end of the film who is more confident than she was at the beginning of the film but a lot more calm More intense like her as Catwoman in the middle of the film. I think she does a tremendous job of playing all of these different signs to Selena Kyle.

Danny DeVito plays Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot/the Penguin In the film. I have to say he still does a terrific job as the character. Now Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot/The Penguin Is really interesting because In the comics he is very sophisticated Gentlemen but in this he has a deformed person from the The sewers raised by penguins. Now for some reason the film wants you to feel bad for him and you do feel bad for him in the beginning of the movie where his parents abandon him and throwing in the silver but you really don't because he literally wants to kill little kids. I think it works for the film because it said a Tim Burton film so it makes sense for the phone to make the penguin really weird and freaky looking. He also has horny feelings towards Selena Kyle/Catwoman I think it works for this interpretation of the penguin because it works for this interpretation of the penguin because is really deformed and unstable but that being said I think the penguin from the Batman is a lot better written because he is actually a mob boss rather than a deformed human from the Thrillers and I think Colin Farrell give the better performance but that being said this interpretation of the penguin is relatively still entertaining. Probably the best moment with Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot/the Penguin Where he is manipulating Max Shrek into having him run for mayor and not only is it a really dark moment but it makes sense because the penguin wants to run for me and so Max Shreck Can build his power plant. It is probably the most suspenseful moment of the entire film.

    Christopher Walken plays Selena Kyle / Catwoman´s boss Max Shreck In the film. I have to say he still does a spectacular job as the character. Now Max Shreck as a character is really interesting because at First you don't believe he and the main villain you believe that it is the penguin but it turns out that Max Shrek is the true main villain of the film because he the one that made Catwoman he's the one that has manipulated the penguin and to help him get his power plant Build. He's also shown to be very selfish and greedy and a liar because he said that Selena Kyle is on vacation but in reality she is dead because he pushed her out the window. Probably the best moment with Max Shrek is where He is helping the penguin run for mayor and not only they really intense and entertaining Moment by make sense because if the penguin becomes mayor that means he can make his illegal power plant happen building it in Gotham City And it's probably the most important moment of the film. the chemistry between him and Michael Keaton is perfect. Fun fact actor David Bowie was considered to play Max Shrek.

    The directing. by Tim Burton it is really interesting because he gets some stuff right but you also gets a few things wrong as well because he does get the relationship between Batman and Catwoman right they have a complicated relationship because sometimes she likes Batman and sometimes she hates himself that's an aspect of the characters he got right. Also I do not mind him changing the penguin into deformed monster because it is his vision of what he believed the penguin is because he believed that the penguin is a growth person from the sewers. i also like the way he makes Gotham City look in these movies because he makes it all gothic how it is in the comics. but the one thing I still don't like Wade does is make Batman into a killer it's just really dumb and it doesn't make a whole lot of sense because Batman does not kill in the comics but I understand that it is the way he interprets the character but to be honest I think Christopher Nolan directed a much better Batman film it's because he doesn't make Batman into a killer. but I think of broke he did a decent job directing this film.

    So in conclusion i still really enjoy this film because well it's not perfect it is relatively entertaining because of the storyline being really dark but really engaging at the same time. I still think Michelle Pfeiffer steals the entire show as Selena Kyle / Catwoman because you can tell she was having a lot of fun as this character and she is the best part of this entire film. The penguin is really interesting I like about him I just didn't really feel sympathy toward them because you're not supposed to feel bad for him because of all the bad things does in this film but I do think that Danny DeVito did a spectacular job as the character. Also the romance between Catwoman and Batman is relatively accurate to how it is in the comics. But again I don't like how this movie makes Batman into a killer because it's kind of really dumb and really out of character so well I like this film I think I like the Christopher Nolan Batman films and the Batman much better. But I still find this film to be relatively entertaining to watch. I give this movie a 7/10.
