Here is my movie review of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. So basically what happens if it takes place after the first movie left off. you have the Guardians working together as a team. Then you have Star-Lord who wants to find out what happened to his mother. Then the Guardians meet Ego, Peter Quill's real dad. and at first Ego is really nice but then it was revealed that he killed Peter Quill's mother. so it's up to the Guardians to take down Ego and save the Galaxy and that's basically what happens in this movie.
They acting in this movie is incredible I still think everyone does a tremendous job at the characters. Now well I liked the characters in the first film I actually think they are better than they weren't in the first one because in this way the characters get more developed.
Chris Pratt reprises his role as Peter Quill/ Star Lord. I still think he does a tremendous job at the character. Now the character of Peter Quill / Star Lord in this film Is really interesting because he wants to learn more about his heritage and in this film they revealed that he is a celestial and it was really interesting but in this film Peter Quill/Star Lord is a complete idiot because he trusted his dad Ego at first and sees the good in him but soon comes to realize that he is evil. to be honest it does make a lot of sense to make Star Lord really dumb because he is in over his hand and he doesn't mature by guardian of the galaxy Volume 3. Probably the best to moment with Peter Quill / Starlord is what I find out that eagle killed his mother and not only was it really shocking but it made sense because he didn't know that he was the one that was responsible for his mother's death and it is probably the darkest moment of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Kurt Russell, Karen Gilligan, is tremendous.
Zoe Saldana reprises her role as Gamora. much like I said with Chris Pratt She still does an outstanding job at the character. Now in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie Gamora didn't really like Star Lord At first but at the film goes on they start to get along and start to have a relationship in this movie They get along and she's basically the voice of reason saying that There's something weird going on with Starlord and his dad and She is trying to tell Peter Quill / Star Lord that Ego is up to something. Probably the best moment with Gamora is where she Called out peter Quill/Star Lord For trusting you not only was it really intense but it made sense because Peter Quill / Star Lord was acting really dumb because he believed that Ego wasn't that evil and it is the most shocking moments of the entire film.
Bradley Cooper voices Rocket Raccoon In this film. I have to think he still does a fantastic job as this character. What makes Rocket Raccoon such a terrific character is that he wants to help the guardians take down ego and save the universe. Probably the best moment where Rocket Raccoon is where he and Peter Quill / Star Lord are arguing and he says to him don't call me a raccoon and not only was it really funny but it made sense because he didn't like being called that. It is probably the funniest moment of the entire film.
Vin Diesel voices Baby Groot in the film. I still think he does a remarkable job as the character. What makes Baby Groot Search an excellent character that he Along with the rest of the Guardians wants to take down Peter Quell / Star Lord ´ s dad Ego and save the universe. Probably the best moment with Baby Groot is during the final battle of the film But he wants the press the death button on the bomb and rocket tell them not to and not only was it really funny but it makes sense because If he president it will explode and kill everybody and it is probably the funniest moment in the entire film.
Michael Rooker reprises his role as Yondu. I have to say Michael Rooker does an amazing job of playing the character. I like how he has more screen time they had in the first movie so he has way more to do than he did in the first film. I love in the end of the movie where Yondu apologize to Star lord for not being there for him and his death is probably up there with Wolverine's death from Logan as the one of the most depressing movie deaths of 2017. Also the interactions between Star Lord and Yondu are probably one of the most emotional character interactions throughout the entire film. The chemistry between him and Chris Pratt is still astonishing. Fun fact actors like Danny DeVito, Ray Romano, Bill Murray, Laurence Fishburne, Albert Brooks, Michael Kenneth Williams, Tim Allen, David Hyde Pierce, Robin Williams, Will Arnett, Mike Myers, Alec Baldwin, Idris Elba, Jack Black, Jason Lee, Justin Long, Jim Carrey, Steve Carell, Keith David, Steve Coogan, David Cross, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Paul Walker, Benedict Cumberbatch, Johnny Depp, Kevin Hart, and Bob Hoskins were all considered to play Yondu.
Karen Gillian reprises her role as Nebula in this movie. I have to say she does a really spectacular job as the character. Now in the first movie Nebula was helping Ronain The Accuser to destroy Xandar. Also she was helping her dad Thanos get the infinity stones But in this movie she is more than anti-hero helping the guardians take down Peter Quill/Star Lord ´ s father Ego. Probably the best thing with Nebula is where She is trying to kill Gamora at first and not only was it really suspenseful but it made sense because they still don't get along It is probably one of the most intense moments in the film. The chemistry between her and Chris Pratt is awesome
Pam Entitlement plays Mantis in this film and she does an excellent job playing the character. I still think she does a remarkable job as the character. What makes Mantis Such a wonderful character is that she wants to help the guardians take down ego and save the universe. Probably the best moment with Mantis is where she becomes a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy and not only was it really powerful but it made sense because it foreshadows her role in Avengers Infinity War. And is probably the most important moment of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Chris Pratt is still really terrific.
However the absolute standout of the entire film is Kurt Russell as Ego. What makes Ego such a remarkable villain is that in the beginning of the movie he starts out really nice he explains to Star Lord how he wasn't there in his life. But then in the third act it is revealed that he won the one who killed Star Lord's mother and the twist revealed that eager with the main antagonist the whole time was very interesting because he watched the movie and you think that he is this very nice celestial but in reality he is full of himself which explains his name Ego. I also like how Ego is fun to hate because when you find out that's that he was responsible for the death of Peter Quill's mom you just want this narcissistic asshole to just die and he does get what he dissolves during the final battle in the film he get he gets turned into dust. Probably the best moment with ego is where he first needs his son Peter Quill / Starlord not only is it really emotional but it makes sense because Peter Quill/Star Lord did not know that ego was his real father. It is probably one of the most powerful moments in the entire film. Fun fact actors Mel Gibson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Alec Baldwin, Bruce Willis, Robert De Niro, Christopher Plummer, Stephen Lang, Christoph Waltz, Max Von Sydow, Matthew McConaughey, Liam Neeson, Gary Oldman, Michael Biehn, Viggo Mortensen, and Ron Perlman were all considered to play Ego.
The directing by James Gunn is astounding because what I like about his directing is that he developed Star Lord as character because in the first film she learned to be a leader of the guardians and in this film he find out that he is half celestial and he finds out that he has a real father is named Ego. He also does a Fantastic job of developing the character of Gamora because in the first film she didn't really like Peter Quill / Star Lord and in this film she starts too like him and they start to fall in love and I think it is really terrific of how he did that.
So in conclusion i still really enjoyed this film because it is a brilliant follow-up to the first Guardians of the Galaxy film. I also like how this film develops all of the members of the Guardians you have Peter Quill / Starlord find out if half Celestial. But the strongest thing in this film is the relationship between Peter Quill and Yondu because I never really got along but in this film they finally do get along and his scene where he sacrifices himself to sing Starlord is one of the most powerful and emotional scenes in all of phase 3. I still think Ego is the second best villain in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy because the best Guardians of the Galaxy villain is the High Evolutionary from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.
