Here is My Movie Review of Stranger Things The Right Side Up

Now when it comes to stranger things I love the show. I love every single character because they all have really fun and unique personalities and when it comes to the season's finale they're really good, especially the piggyback from season 4. That finale was epic. Now here's the interesting thing. I thought they couldn't top that in terms of epicness. Well, I was wrong they definitely topped it and turned them into awesomeness because this is one of the Films of 2025. 

But we of course have to talk about the amazing story because look see the fourth finale was amazing but this one is a lot better because this is actually Eleven’s story because she has to take down the mime flayer and Vecna and save all of Hawkins along with the help of her friends and Protect everyone she cares about Because all these characters are essentially her family By going to the upside down and saving all the kids who are under Vecna’s control. That is basically what the story is for this film and out of all the story lines and stranger things this one easily has the best one out of every single storyline in the show. 

But we of course have to talk about the acting because look ever since Stranger Things started back in 2016 No one ever gave a bad performance and for this being everyone's final time playing these characters they do not disappoint they Give some of the most powerful and emotional performances of their entire careers as these characters. I think this is the best acted film of 2025. 

But we of course have to talk about the mesmerizing and one of the most emotional performances of the entire film which is Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven because when the show started she gave a really powerful and emotional performance. But in this film she gives that her all she gives one of the most tragic and one of the most sad performances of her entire career because if you think about this is really Eleven’s movie it's all about her trying to save everyone she cares about. You know for this being Millie Bobby Brown's last performance as This character she really did not disappoint. But the character of Eleven is magnificent because ever since season one she has really grown at a character you know and see the one shows all alone in the woods she didn't have a friend she didn't really have a family she wasn't happy she was tortured she was experimenting on in the laboratory. But then she eventually found happiness with Mike and his friends and they grew a really powerful and emotional bond with her.  She always said to them that friends never lie and ever since then they were always with her by her side. But in this film she is broken. She's scared that she might lose everyone she cares about Eleven though she has to take down the line flyer and Vecna to save everyone. Also the scenes with Eleven are probably some of her best moments of the entire film whether it is her breaking down crying because her sister Kali got killed by the military or her sacrificing herself to save everyone it does to some of the saddest in one of the most heart-wrenching moments of the film. The chemistry between her and David Harbour, Cable McLachlan, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, Joe Kerrey,  Winona Ryder, Jamie Campbell Bower, Maya Hawke, Sydney Sink  is tremendous. 

David Harbour gives one of his best performances as Jim Hopper because ever since The show started he had always given a really powerful and emotional performance and in this film it's no deaf right he did give one of the most raw and most tragic performances as this character. Now Jim Hopper Was always this really interesting and complex character because he acted like a father figure to Eleven Because he was actually the first one to take care of her and he did want anything bad to happen to her and he would always overprotect him yeah there were times  where Jim Hopper was very strict with her but Thunderbird he did want her to die. Now in this movie that's no different Jim Hopper is very protective over Eleven he doesn't want her to die because he would be devastated if she did end up killing herself to save everyone. The scenes with Jim Hopper are really sad but they are very amazing whether it is him watching Eleven crying over the death of her sister or him watching Eleven and her life to save everyone and it does lead to some of the most devastating and some of the most emotional moments of this entire film. The chemistry between him and Millie Bobby Brown is tremendous. In fact this is probably their best on-screen chemistry of all time because they really feel like a real father and daughter in the film. 

Noah Schnapp easily gives one of the most emotional and beautiful performances as Will Buyers Because even from the start of the show he gave a really powerful and emotional performance and here in this film is no different he gives one of the most raw and beautiful performances of the entire film. Now will buyers at a character a lot of people did not like people say he is crybaby the annoying but I never hated Will even from the very first episode of stranger things I always love this character I always felt bad for him because he was gained tortured by Vecna and the creatures from the upside down. Now in this film that's no different because Will has gone through a lot because he came out as gay he and wants to save everyone he cares about and take down the Mined Flyer and the Vecna. The scenes with will are probably some of the most incredible moments of the entire film whether it's him trying to tell Vecna to fight back and help them kill the Mine Flayer or him telling Mike that he will always be there for him and it does lead to some really powerful and beautiful moments throughout the film. The chemistry between him and Millie Bobby Brown is astonishing. 

But let's talk about Finwolf hard who plays the main character Mike Wheeler  Now ever since the show started he has given a powerful and tremendous performance and the character but in this film this has got to be one of his best performances he has ever given add this character because he just give the really captivating and really magnificent performance as this character. Now the character of Mike was tremendous because when the the show first started he was always the leader of their friend group he always cared about Eleven ever sense that day he and his friends founder he always had feelings towards her and always cared about her and he even says in the season 4 finale I love you even on your bad days and your good days so it doesn't matter if a woman gets irritated by him Mike still cared about her. Now in this film that's no different. Mike really wants Eleven to take down the Mind flyer and Vecna and save everyone and save all of Hawkins and does not want anything bad happen to her and he is actually the emotional core of this entire film along with Eleven. But of course we have to talk about the saddest moment of the film and that is Mike's mental breakdown and oh my God is it really sad so he's in the void with Eleven and he is trying to tell her oh everything going to be okay we can fix this together and Eleven tells him that she has to end her life to save him and all their friend and Mike just breaks down crying he's overly devastated that the love of his life is dead and it is without doubt one of the saddest moments of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Millie Bobby Brown is magnificent in fact their chemistry is the strongest aspect of this entire film. 

Now Gaten Matarazzo was always tremendous as Dustin because he was always my favorite performance of the entire show. He was really funny and really charismatic as the character. But in this movie I think he gives the most powerful and one of the most emotional captivating performances as this character. Now the character of Dustin was always my favorite character from the start because he was always funny and he always cared about his friends, especially Steve Harrington. Also the show did a terrific job of making sympathetic because then season four when he went through that whole mental breakdown when he had to watch Eddie Munson get killed by the Demi bats. Now in this film Dustin that's no different he is still really Funny and really sympathetic because Dustin went through a lot because he lost his mentor and friend Eddie Munson he'd been kind of shutting people out because he was depressed that his best friend died in front of him and he wants help his friends take down the mind flyer and Vecna and save all of Hawkins. The scenes with Dustin are tremendous whether it is him and his friends fighting the mind fire or him giving that really powerful and emotional speech after graduation saying that he's been through a lot change would eventually happen and it's one of the most beautiful moments of the entire film. The chemistry between him and Millie Bobby Brown is perfect. 

 Now Maya Hawke has always been good as Robin ever since stranger things season 3 you know she gives one of the most entertaining and fun performances of the show and you can tell that she is having a lot of fun as this character. But I have to say she probably gives her best performance as Robin in this movie. She does give them really captivating and a really badass performance in the film. Now the character of Robin was always the very interesting character in the show because at first she didn't really like Mike and his friends she found them annoying she didn't really believe in the supernatural but add the show progress she really started to care about them because she wanted to take down Vecna and all the evil monsters he was summoned from the upside down. Now in this film it's no different Robin wants to take down the Mind Flayer and Vecna and save all of Hawkins and her friends. The scenes with Robin are tremendous whether it's her fighting the Mind Flyer with her friends or her mentioning that things have really changed after Eleven’s sacrifice and it does lead to some really powerful and perfect moments in the film. The chemistry between her and Millie Bobby Brown is exhilarating.

Now Cable McLachlan I always enjoyed as Lucas in stranger things he always gave a really fun and really incredible performance because you can tell that he would have a blast playing this character. But in this film he gives the best performance he had ever given as the character because he gives such an emotional and crisp performance as this character. Now Lucas are the character was really interesting because in the show he was only the smart one and at first he didn't really like Eleven because he thought she was a spy he didn't really trust her but at the show progressed he really started to care about her and he accepted her as their friend and he'll do anything to protect her along with everyone else in Hawkins. Now in this film that's no different Lucas still cares about Eleven he cares about all of his friends that he wants to take down the mind flyer and Vecna and save all Hawkins. The scenes with Lucas are incredible whether it's him standing on the tower trying to prevent the planet from crashing down or him confessing his feelings to Max it does lead to a live nail binding and some really powerful moments throughout the film. The chemistry between him and Millie Bobby Brown is perfect.

Now Joe Kerrey was always terrific as the character Steve Harrington even when the show first started he always gave a really fun and entertaining performance as the character. Now in this movie it is no different because he gives his best performance as this character because he delivers every lion dialogue with so much heart and emotion. Now out of all the characters Steve Harrington has changed the most because with stranger things started Steve with a huge junk because he always made fun of Mike and friends saying that they are annoying and they're not fun to be around but As the show went on Steve did grow at the character he started to like Mike his friends he became kind of acting like  Dustin’s  older brother because he really started to care and really likes spending time with him. But in this film that's no different. Steve Harrington really wants to help all his friends take down Vecna and the Mind flayer and save all of Hawkins. The themes with Steve Harrington are incredible whether it's him telling Jonathan that he didn't really like him at all but he still deeply respects him or him nearly dying by falling off the tower it does lead to some really scary and some really emotional moments throughout the film. The chemistry between him and Millie Bobby Brown is tremendous. 

Winona Ryder has always done a magnificent job of Joyce Byers Aka Will's mother because when the show started she always gave a really powerful emotional performance of the film and youl that she was having a lot of fun as this character. But in this film she probably gives her best performance she's ever given as this character. She gives a really raw and badass performance in this film. Now the character of Joyce Byers is incredible because right when the show starts she was always protected about her son will she wanted to find him ever sent the day he went missing and she wouldn't stop until he is home safe and sound and when he was Joyce was really happy that they're back together of the family. Now in this film that's no different Joyce Buyers is a badass because wants to help her son Will and his friends take down Vecna and the mind flayer and save all of Hawkins. The scenes with Joyce Byers are probably some of the best moments in the film whether it's her asking will if he can find Eleven through his mind or her full Jack Nicholson and beating the shit out of Vecna saying you fucked with the wrong family it doesn't lead to some really powerful and badass moments in the film. The chemistry between her and Millie Bobby Brown is incredible. 

Now Sydney Sink  was always tremendous as Max in Stranger Things because she always gave this really powerful and really exhilarating performance and the character and you can tell she'll have a lot of fun as this character. Now the character of Max has gone through a lot and stranger things because at first much like Robin she didn't like Mike and his friends she always referred to them as stalkers because they followed her around or she just said that they're annoying but at the show progressed she started to really care about them And they bonded as a group of friends and she will do anything to protect themEven if it means Play herself In harm's way to fight the evil monsters in the upside down to protect Them and all of Hawkins. Also he went to the hospital in the season 4 finale and people thought Max was in a coma but she wasn't. She was actually under Vecna's control; she was trapped in his mind. Now in this film that's no different because Max really wants to help her friends take down the Mind  Flayer and Vecna and save all of Hawkins and she is a badass because she'll do anything to protect her friends because she really cares about them. The themes with Max are incredible whether it is her guiding the kids away from Vecna or watching Dustin do his graduation speech; it does lead to some really awesome and beautiful moments throughout the film. The chemistry between her and Millie Bobby Brown is terrific. 

Now now I always loved  Jamie Campbell Bower as Vecna because all the way back and see the floor he still managed to give one of the scary the one of the most intimidating vocal performances of the entire show Because you can tell that he was having a lot of fun as the other worldly being that enjoys killing and torturing children. Now in this film that's no different Jamie Campbell Bower still gives the really haunting and nail biting performance throughout this film. Now the character of Vecna is really horrifying because we introduced and season  them for the first thing he did was kill Chrissy by snapping her arms and legs and breaking her neck and getting   their eyeballs to fall out. Though at that he went on killing spray by killing more people in Hawkins and tried to psychologically torture Eleven and her friends until she killed him Or so she thought because even though she in her eyes killed him Vecna survived and took over Max's mind and put her in a trance So he can kidnap and torture more children  and he pretended to be nice to these kids by putting on this disguise it renaming himself Mr Watson but Max knew that he was lying to them he was just using them so he can kill them. Now in this film Vecna is no different, he is still threatening, he still has it on screen president he just wants to kill Eleven and her friends and plunge Hawkins into chaos so he can merge his world into Hawkins and take it all over. Not to mention Vecna is really fun to hate because you really want this gun back to die and he beats the shit out of him with their telepathic abilities and Joyce Buyers beats the shit out of him with a hammer and kills them. The themes with Vecna are really terrifying and really spine tingling Whether it's him manipulating the kids to join him or him trying to kill everyone in Hawkins it doesn't lead to some really showing and some really haunting moments throughout the film. The chemistry between him and Millie Bobby Brown is terrific. 

However the thing I really want to talk about is the tremendous and magnificent directing  by the Duffer Brothers because look I always love their directing of strange things. I always think  they get the human right and monthly the emotional stuff is actually the strongest aspect of the whole show. Now this film they absolutely knocked out of the park because why I love about their directing and that there's high stakes you know Eleven is about to face her final challenge that being taking down Vecna in the mime flare and also saying goodbye to her friends her family essentially because Jim Hopper raised her And made about to always protect her and major nothing bad happens to her. I also like how they wrap up every character's story arc like Joyce Byers finally falls in love with Jim Hopper or Eleven facing her destiny in saving everyone in Hawkins. Or Dustin getting over his death and learning to move on because he learns to accept change and that's exactly what he talks about in his graduation speech and it's just fun to see all these beloved characters saying their final goodbyes to each other. I also like how they don't ruin the moments with any stupid jokes because If this was directed by Josh Whedon he would ruin every moment with a lot of forced MCU jokes that would just ruin the emotional moment and this would have been like Avengers Age  of Ultron all over again. But luckily he did not direct the film and the Duffer Brothers made one of the best films of 2025 and I think this is their best directed Stranger Things project of all time. 

So in conclusion I really loved this movie because it had an emotional storyline revolving around Eleven Facing her Destiny which is to kill Vecna in the mine flyer and save all of Hawkins which is the best storyline of all of Stranger Things. I also really love all the performances but the one I love the most is Millie Bobby Brown who gives her best performance as Eleven because she gave one of the most emotional and captivating performances in the film. I also enjoyed the stuff with Dustin, how he had to accept that his friend Eddie Munson is dead and his speech is one of the strongest moments of the entire film. I also like the message in this movie how like Dustin says change happens and we have to accept it and it's probably one of the best messages of the entire film because they're the live people that can relate to everyone in the film because everyone has gone through something tragic or very dark and they have to face their fears and move past it. Also Vecna is still a tremendous villain Jamie Campbell Bower still does a magnificent job as the character and that final battle between Eleven and Vecna is amazing. It is one of the best climaxes in all of Stranger Things. Also this is actually my number one favorite film of 2025. I highly recommend you watch this film and you will not be disappointed. I give this movie a 10/10.
