Here Is My Movie Review Of Close

Here Is My Movie Review Of Close

Now it comes to this movie. I have never seen a trailer but I heard a lot of people say this movie is not really good so I watched it and I thought this one was good. It's not the best Netflix original film but I thought it was fun and entertaining because I think of other Netflix films like Mute and Stranger Things. The Piggyback are a lot better films because they are a lot more entertaining and A lot more memorable.

Now the story in this film is Is interesting because it revolves around this girl named sam who has to take care of this girl named Zoe because her father died and she inherited his money and she needs someone to look after her but soon the government starts to try to capture her and threaten the killer if she doesn't obey their orders in terms of not getting rid of her caretaker. So it's up to Sam and Zoe to Outrun the government and survive That is basically what the story is from this film. I have to say I think the storyline is okay If not a bad storyline but I think movies like Stranger Things The Piggyback and The King had way better stories because they have much more intense stuff going on. Well this is a relatively small scale story. But I think it  was decent.

Now I do think the performances in this film are pretty good now I will say though I think the acting in Stranger things The Piggyback and Avengers  Endgame had way better acting than this film has. But I will say though I don't think the acting is nearly as bad as a lot of people say. I think  films like Rim of The World and Polar. Those films have way worse acting than this film does because I'm wasting this film. The actors do a great job with their performances.

However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Noomi Repace as the character of Sam Carlson because she gives a really captivating and entertaining performance and you can tell that she's having a lot of fun as this character. Now the character of Sam Carlson  is interesting because you can tell that she really cares about Zoe Tanner and wants to protect her from the government and take really good care of her and I think the film did a decent job making you care about her because you really want to protect this girl. I think for the most part the film does a decent job of making you care for these two characters even though there are parts where the little wonky I think for the most part the character of Sam Carlson is entertaining. The scenes with Sam Carlson are entertaining whether it is her meeting Zoe Tanner for the first time or her trying to outrun the government Or her having a panic attack over accidentally killing a comp And seem like freaking out because she doesn't want to go to jail because now she's wanted for murder and it does lead to some really intense and nail biting moments in the film. The chemistry between her and Sophie Nelisse, Indira Varma, Eoin Macken is decent.

Sophie Nelisse plays Zoe Tanner in the film and her performance is really interesting because I think for the month part she does the great job as this character and even parts where the writing doesn't work she is still entertaining and really fun as the character. Now the character of Zoe is okay. You do care about her. But she's just forgettable she's just here to be taken care of and the film does a good enough job and make you feel bad for it because their mother is dead and she needs someone to take care of her and even though she does become unlikeable and the film goes on you can understand because she's scared of what the government is going to do to her she doesn't want to die she's unhappy of her new caretaker because he doesn't want Sam Carlson to treat her like a little kid. So you can understand why they sort of argue in this film. The scenes with Zoe Tanner are entertaining like the scenes of her in the helicopter or her bonding with Sam Carlson; it does lead to some really powerful and emotional moments throughout the film.

Indira Varma plays Rima Hassine In this film and her performance was  entertaining. I did think she does a good enough job as this character and you can tell that she is having a lot of fun as this character. Now the character of Rima Hassine I think Is decent she does care about her stepdaughter Zoe and really want to take care of her because the film does do a good enough job making feel bad for both of them because Zoe Tanner needs her stepmother to take care of her because her real mom and dad are dead. The scenes with Rima Hassine Are okay there are some really emotional moments between Zoe Tanner and her stepmother and it does work  From the most part like the scenes of them trying to outrun the government or her and Zoe spending time with each other it does wait to some really intense and some really emotional scenes between the two characters. Also the bonding between Zoe Tanner and her stepmother is decent. I did that because they have decent chemistry throughout the film. But I think the chemistry between Mike and Eleven from Stranger Things The Piggyback was far, far better because they have spent time with each other since the day they first met. The chemistry between her and Noomi Repace  is terrific.

Eoin Macken plays Sam Carlson's supervisor Conall Sinclair In the film and his performance was really fun and entertaining and I did think he does a terrific job as the character and you can just tell that Eoin Macken is having a lot of fun as this character. Now the character of Conall Sinclair  Is incredible because out of all the characters he was actually my favorite character throughout the film because he really wants to help Sam Carlson take care of Zoe Tanner and helper outrun the government and survive though she doesn't get killed As well as making her happy and making her life better. The scenes with Conall Sinclair are tremendous because there are a lot of awesome incredible moments with Conall Sinclair whether it is him meeting the way for the first time or him trying to outrun the government and trying to protect Sam Carlson and Zoe Tanner so they won't get killed by the government. It does lead to some really powerful and some really suspenseful stuff in the film.

Now the directing by Vicky Jewson Is interesting because I think for the most part he does a pretty good job of directing this film because he does do a terrific job of making you feel bad for Sam Carlson and zoe Tanner because Sam Carson want to protect Zoe Tanner from the government and Zoe Tanner is trying to cope with the lost of her dad because she really misses him and she's not really happy with Sam Carlson as her caretaker. But I think the problem is that he makes this into an action film . To be honest I think he should have made this into a drama film that way there would have been more emotional scenes incorporated into the film narrative and structure. Now the biggest problem with this movie is that the tone is a little bit inconsistent. Sometimes it wants to be a Sci-Fi film and sometimes it won't be this deep and really dramatic drama about a girl coping with the loss of her dad. I feel like this film needed a  rewrite to make it a little better but I think overall he did a decent job directing this film.

So in conclusion I enjoyed this film. I thought the storyline was pretty good for the most part. Having it revolve around this woman named Sam Carlson who has to take care of this girl named Zoe Tanner and trying to help her survive through the government and avoid being killed by them. Now there are moments where it falls apart. But I will say it's better than the storyline in Polar because that film had a really awful and really boring storyline. Well with this film the storyline was relatively interesting to follow. Also I will say the performance is really great especially from Noomi Repace who stole the entire show as Sam Carlson who gave a really captivating and incredible performance as the character. Also Eoin Macken Gave a really fun and entertaining performance as  Conall Sinclair.  I also found it interesting that the opening credits of the film play running' up that hill by Okay but which would eventually be used in Stranger Things so I found that really Interesting. But I will say though I wish this film with more of a drama film instead of a Sci-Fi film because I think it feel the drama film it would have had more emotional moments and that is the biggest problem with this film when it's trying to be like a Sci-Fi Action film it is At its weakest. When it moved away from being a Sci-Fi film that's where I think this film becomes really fun and really dramatic. Now well I don't think this is the best 2019 film because I did like films like The Lighthouse, The King and Avengers Endgame are a lot better. I did think this film was fun and really entertaining. I will say though other Netflix films like Stranger Things, The Piggyback, Mute, and The Electric State are a lot better Netflix films  because those are a lot more memorable. But I I recommend you watch this film especially if you like IO with Anthony Mackie. Then I'm sure you're going to like this one as well. I give this film a 7/10.
