Here is My Movie Review of Lovers Rock

So basically what happens is that you have this teenage girl named Martha Trenton Who lives in this very strict household where he don't feel like she is having ways that she decide to sneak off to this nightclub called Lover's Rock where it's basically a place where People of African American culture can be accepted and they can have fun and make friends and Martha Trenton  Meets this guy named Franklyn Cooper and she starts to fall in love with him and that's basically what the story is for the film It's a century a love story is very simple and very easy to follow. 

Now the movie doesn't have a lot of acting and has a lot of actors in it but mainly focuses on two characters in the film in the way about the directing and atmosphere in the music in the film  

However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Amarah-Je.St. Aubyn as  Martha Trenton. Now the character of Martha Trenton is  really interesting because you can tell she's not really happy with her home life because her family is very strict and she want to go to Lovers Rock to have some fun and be free for from all the stress in her life and to find someone that would fall in love with her. Probably the best moment with  Martha Trenton  Is where she first meets Franklyn Cooper and they start to fall in love and not only with it really powerful but it makes sense because you can tell that they had feelings for each other and they really cared about each other it's probably the most beautiful and emotional scene of the entire film and the romance between her and Franklyn Cooper Is probably the strongest moment of the entire film. The chemistry between her and Michael Ward Is terrific. 

Michael Ward  plays Franklyn Cooper In the film. I have to say he does a spectacular job as the character. Now the character of Franklyn Cooper It's really interesting because you can tell right from the start that he really has feelings towards Martha Trenton  and wants to make her happy. Probably the best moment with Franklyn Cooper Is where he and Martha Trenton  Are dancing and not only that, it's really beautiful to watch because they really love each other. It is throwing the most emotional and beautiful moment of the entire film that chemistry between him and Amarah-Je.St. Aubyn Is spectacular. 

Now much like I said My Mangrove Review of the best thing about this film is the directing by Steve McQueen Now in the first film Steve McQueen covered police brutality and racism this one he discussed the subject of what's like to Raise their strike household and  I'm learning to let go of stress and have fun though he's still covered a bit of racism of how some people call people of different colored really rude names and make senseless jokes about them and I think he also covered that really seriously because racist jokes are not funny they're very harmful and it proves that when people use those drugs are being discriminatory towards people of a different race and I am happy that he takes the subject matters super seriously. I think it is tremendous of how he did that. 

So in conclusion, I really liked Mangrove. I have to say I like this one more because it's still focused on racism. But I also like how the film develops the character of Martha Trenton of how she wants to find love and she wants to Relieve stress of her strict household. I also like the music in this film as it really puts you in a very happy and positive place of mind. I have to say if you enjoyed Steve McQueen's first film In the Small Acx Series Mangrove with Shaun Parks. I give this movie a 10/10.
