Here is My Movie Review of Alex Wheatie

Here is My Movie Review of Alex Wheatie

So basically what happens is that it tells the real life story of Alex Wheatie who was this famous musician and poet who would eventually be arrested because of a protest. That is basically what the story is for the film. The film basically follows his childhood up to the day in April where he got arrested during a protest and that they were the story for this film is the life story of Alex Wheatie. I have to say the storyline is not bad, it is actually really interesting. I do think it is the weakest story In the Steve McQueen’s 5 part  film series.

The acting in this movie is really great but to be honest the film focuses on the directing and not really the performances but that being said even though this is the weakest one out of the film series the actors still give really awesome performances.

However the absolute big standout of the entire film is Sheyi Cole as Alex Wheatie. Now the character of Alex Wheatie Is really interesting because he wants to become a famous poet and musician because of his passion for music. Probably the best moment with Alex Wheatie Is where he  is walking in a music store and looking at all the records and not only that, it's really beautiful with the emotional music that makes sense because in real life  Alex Wheatie had a passion for music. It is probably the most powerful moment of the entire film. The chemistry between him, Jonathan Jules, and Robbie Gee Is perfect.

Jonathan Jules plays Dennis Isaac In the film. I have to say he does a terrific job as the character. Now the character of Dennis Isaac Is real interesting because he wants to help Alex Wheatie become a really great musician and poet and wants to help him fight against police brutality and put an end to it. Probably the best moment with Dennis Isaac is where he at first meets Alex Wheatie And they immediately start to bond and not only was it one of A very powerful and emotional moments. But it makes sense because In real life they wanted to work together to make him Really awesome poet and musician. It's probably the most beautiful scene of the entire film. The chemistry between him and  Sheyi Cole Is excellent.

Now much like what I said my Red White and Blue review the best thing about this movie is the directed by Steve McQueen And to be fair he's still got because why I like about his directing is that he does a terrific job of Showing the life of Alex Wheatie of how he was raised in a horrible foster home he went from a famous poet and religion how he went to his eventual arrest and I think he does a terrific job of doing that and much like the last film I think he does a terrific job of discussing release brutality and racism though it's not showing this film a whole lot but when it's shown it's actually really interesting because again police brutality the very serious subject and I like how he takes it really seriously because it is a very harsh and touchy subject so I think it is really excellent of how he did that.

So in conclusion out of the films by Steve McQueen this one's probably the weakest out of Small Acx Series It has a decent story and the performance by Sheyi Cole as The character of Alex Wheatie  is really Is really terrific. But I feel like it was a little rushed I think the problem in the runtime that's movie is only an hour and 6 Minutes long I think it should have been like an hour and 35 minutes and week so they can flush out the characters but I do think it's entertaining. I do enjoy the music in the film. It's really awesome because It does lead to some really intense and powerful moments in the film.  But I don't think it is as perfect as Red White and Blue. I'm giving this movie a 7/10.
