Here is My Movie Review On The Rocks

So basically what happened is that you have this couple named Laura and Dean and they are having a really good relationship. But then as time goes by Laura barely sees her husband Dean so her dad Felix thinks that Dean is cheating on her so they decide to go figure out what he's been doing and it's up to her to figure out what has been going on with her husband Dean and that is basically what the story is for this movie. Now the storyline of the film about Laura Wanting to have her father feel like spend more time together as well as trying to figure out if her husband is cheating on her is a really Interesting concept and the film executes it perfectly.

The acting in this movie is terrific because all the actors are doing a stellar job with their performances and this movie is probably up there with Mank at one of the best acted films of 2020. I also think that this movie is up there with The Gorge as one of the best acted films of the 2020s. Also you can tell that everyone is having fun as ther characters I feel like everyone is giving really powerful and Incredible performances.

However the absolute standout of the entire film is Rashida Jones as Laura. Now Laura as a character is really incredible because you really feel bad for her because her husband Dean always spent time with her and she wants to figure out if he is cheating on her with another woman and you really want them to get back together. The scene Laura is when she tells her father that she doesn't really like him because He doesn't really think about her, he all he does think about himself and he pushed his wife away which means he pushed Laura's mother away. Not only was it really heartbreaking but it made sense because Felix wasn't really there for her that much in her life so you can understand why she is mad at him for those reasons. and it is probably the most powerful moment in the entire film. The chemistry between her and Bill Murray, Marlon Wayans Is still remarkable.

Marlon Wayans Play Laura's husband Dean. I have to say he still does a tremendous job as the character. Now the character of Dean as a character is incredible because he really wants to make a company really good but at the same time he really loves his wife Laura So much. The scene where Dean apologizes to Laura for ignoring her and not spending time with her. You can understand why he's doing this because he really wants to prove that he still loves her By making up for all the mistakes he has done in their relationship. Not only was it really really sweet but it made sense because in his eyes he still loves His wife Laura. It is probably the Most beautiful scene in the entire film. The chemistry between him and Reshida Jones is still really marvelous. 

Bill Murray plays Laura's dad Felix. I have to say he still does an awesome job as the character. Now Felix as a character is tremendous because he wants to help his daughter Laura figure out If her husband Dean is cheating on her. The scene where Felix is when he Is driving Laura around the city and Laura tells him that she can't whistle. Not only was it really funny. But it made sense because some people in real life are not really good at whistling because whistling takes a lot of practice to get the hang of. It is probably the most heartwarming scene in the entire film. This is probably Bill Murray's best performance he had ever done. The chemistry between him and Reshida Jones is still outstanding. 

However the best thing about this entire movie is The directing by Sofia Coppola because what love about her directing is that she does a glorious job Of A developing the character of Laura because she need a character that is very much over her dad Felix she doesn't want anything to deal with him because she never spend enough time with her when she was younger and she just walked to move on from him but at the same time she wanted to figure out if her husband is Cheney on her with another woman. But she also wants to reconcile with her father and make things right so I think it is really incredible of how she did that of making you feel sympathetic for this character because everyone there are people who don't want to spend time with their parents because they either didn't spend enough time with them when they were younger or they just ran out on them and never came back and I'm happy that she took the subject very seriously. I think it is really terrific of how she did that.

So in conclusion I still really enjoyed this movie Because the storyline revolving around Laura trying to reconnect with her father and trying to figure out if her husband Dean is cheating on her it really interesting and emotional storyline I still think the character of Laura is really interesting character because you can understand why she doesn't like her dad because Felix wasn't in her life a whole lot and all he thought about was himself and nothing about her so you really feel bad for for that reason. It is probably the most powerful and emotional film of 2020. This is probably one of my favorite movies of the 2020s. This is probably In my top five favorite movies of 2020. Also Rashida Jones And Bill Murray play off each other tremendously they have such awesome and spectacular chemistry with each other in this film. This is probably up there with the Farewell as one of my favorite emotional A24 films. This is probably up there with Swan Song as one of my favorite Apple TV Plus original films. I still think you are a fan of After Yang with Colin Farrell. You probably like this one. I give this movie a 79/10.
