Here is My Movie Review of The Black Phone

Here is My Movie Review of The Black Phone

Now it comes to this film I always really enjoyed it because of the storyline and a lot of the characters are really interesting because the filmed on the great job of making you sympathize with these characters. I still think this film is up there with Nope as one of the best films of 2022.

Now the storyline in this movie is Incredible because it revolves around this 13-year-old boy named Finney Blake who gets kidnapped by this guy named The Grabber and locks him in his basement. But then Finney Blake jets phone calls from The Grabbers previous victims and they tell Finny how to escape the grabber and meanwhile his sister Gwen Blake Who is worried that she'll never see her older brother she tried to get the police involved to try and find them and it's up to Finney Blake to take down the Grabber Escape from the basement and that's basically what the story is for this film. I have to say the storyline How they really interesting concept have it revolve around this kid who can talk to dead victims on the phone to try to escape from the Grabber's basement it'll really interesting concept in the film executes it perfectly. I still think this movie is up there with everything everywhere all at once in terms of having the best storyline of 2022.

The acting in this movie is still terrific because all of them are doing a excellent job with their performances and I can tell that everyone is having fun at their characters to be honest the acting in this movie is probably up there with Everything Everywhere All At Once as one of the best acted films of 2022. This movie is probably up there with Furious a Mad Max Saga as one of the best acted films of the 2020s.

Now for this Mason Thamas ´ s very first film did he still gives a really awesome and captivated performance as Finney Blake And you can tell that he had a lot of fun as this character. Now the character of Finney Blake If someone you do feel bad for because he gets Picked on by other students his dad miss treats him and his younger sister and he gets kidnapped by the grabber so you really want him to fight back and kill The Grabber and get out of the basement and be reunited with his younger sister Gwen Blake. The themes with Finny Blake are some of my favorite moments in the film whether it is him fighting the Grabber in the basement or him comforting his younger sister Gwen after their dad misstreats her it doesn't lead to some really haunting and some really emotional moments throughout the film. The chemistry between him and Madeleine McGraw, Miguel Cazarez Mora, and Ethan Hawke is still really spectacular.

Madeleine McGraw Plays Finney Blake´s younger sister Gwan Blake and her performance is incredible she gives one of the most captivating and one of the best child performances in the film and you can tell that she is having a lot of fun as this character. Now the character of Gwen Blake is really incredible because much like her older brother Finney Blake you also feel bad for because their dad just mistreats her and she really wants to be reunited with her older brother Finny Blake because she is worried that she will never see him again. The scenes with Gwen Blake I'll probably some of the month emotional moments of the film whether it is her worrying about her brother Finney Blake or her being finally reunited with him when you get down the basement it does lead to some really powerful and some really emotional moments in the film. The chemistry between her and Mason Thamas is still really astonishing.

Miguel Cazarez Mora plays Finney Blake's friend Robin and his performance is excellent he gives one of the most powerful and one of the most entertaining performances of the entire film Because you can tell that he is having a lot of fun as this character. Now the character of Robin is really incredible because he's essentially not only Finney Blake's friend but he's a mentor because he wants to train Finney to fight and defend himself so he can learn to stand up for himself. The scenes with Robin are are probably some of the most emotional and some of them is powerful moments in the film whether it is him training Finny to defend himself or him saying goodbye to him long last time before he fights the grabber it does lead to some really emotional and some really captivating moments in the film. The chemistry between him and Mason Thomas is  phenomenal.

However the absolute standout of this entire movie is Ethan Hawke as The Grabber because he gives one the creepiest but one of the best performances in the film and of all the performances this one is my favorite because Ethan Hawk as an actor is tremendous he has given some really amazing performance whether it is his performance in Boyhood or his underrated performance in the MCU as Arthur Harrow in Moon Knight Ethan Hawk has given some really fun and Incredible performances as an actor. Now the character of The Grabber is really creepy because this guy enjoys kidnapping children and locking them in his basement and then killing them and I like how he doesn't really have a backstory it's kind of like the Joker where they keep it mysterious. I also like his personality the way it switches because one minute the The Grabber can be very nice and Charming but then the next minute he'll be raised his voice and trying to kill you and that's what makes him so interesting because you'll never know what he'll do next. I also like how The Grabber was based off of Scott Derickson's childhood is because apparently he grew up in a very violent neighborhood and he didn't have a good home life so I like how The Grabber was inspired by the director's tragic childhood. The scenes with the Grabber are probably some of my favorite moments in the film whether it is him introduce himself to Finny And kidnapping him or him changing mask depending on what mood he has in and it does lead to some really showing and some really scary moments throughout the film and I think the grabber is up there with Gorr The God Butcher from Thor Love and Thunder as one of the most entertaining villains of 2022. The chemistry between him and Mason Thomas is still really awesome.

However the best thing about this movie is The directing by Scott  Derickson because what I love about his directing is that he does a terrific job of developing all of the characters especially the character of Finney Blake Because she wants to get out of the Grabber's basement and be with his sister Gwen and at first he doesn't know how to fight he gets mistreated at school but once he wants home to defend himself he usually that to get revenge on the grammar and beats him to death and he escapes from the basement. I also like how he made this movie really disturbing and what makes this film so disturb me that he did the tremendous job of making the grab her a very creepy and disturbing villain Because he enjoys kidnapping children and locking them in his basement. I like how he doesn't give the Grabber a backstory because he sort of liked the Joker both of them are shrouded in mystery. I think it was really terrific of how he did that.

So in conclusion i still really enjoy the film the storyline revolving around Finney Blake learning how to survive in the Grabber's basement will also getting advice of how to get out by using the phone to talk to The Grabber's previous dead victims that he has killed and the film executed that concept of being locked in a soundproof basement and talking to dead victims over a phone perfectly. But the strongest thing about this movie is the bonding between Finny Blake and his sister Gwen Blake because he really cares about her he also enjoys spending time with her. I still think that is the strongest aspect of the entire film. Also the Grabber is such a tremendous villain his motivation for kidnapping children and locking them in his soundproof basement is really interesting and really disturbing because there is no reason of why he doesn't he just enjoys doing it. Also Ethan Hawke gives one of his best performances he has ever given in his career. Also I think The Grabber is probably up there with Warlord Dementus from Furiousa a Mad Max Saga as one of the best villains of the 2020s. I highly recommend you watch this film especially if you enjoy the Northman with Alexander Skarsgard then i'm sure you're going to like this one as well. I give this movie a 10/10.
